timmy2 Rating: Review Date: 09/04/06	PNY 256MB PC100 / PC133 SDRAM 100 / 133MHz Memory Comment: Upgraded my HP Pavilion PC Model 6740C which came with 64mb of SDRAM to 2 x 256mb of SDRAM. This is the maximum that his recommended for this PC. I did have to upgrade the BIOS before the PC would start with both SDRAM cards installed. This BIOS upgrade can be downloaded from the HP website.

Grayson Rating: Review Date: 08/11/06	PNY 256MB PC100 / PC133 SDRAM 100 / 133MHz Memory Comment: PNY 256 Pc100 SDRAM will not work in an older Dell. Mine is a Dell L550r. PNY tech's say ''sorry'' The memory from Dell won't work either. Dell tech's say ''re-format the hard drive and re-install the OS, that should fix the problem''. That doesn't work either! I finally found a knowledgable tech at Dell who suggested going to a local computer shop and finding some old RAM (late '90's or early 2000's) That does work! New chips won't work in old Dells. What a pain in the a--!

It would only take 512 Mb total, and I had 2 128s in it. The memory was immediatly recognized, and now XP runs way faster, and I can do things with the pc I never could do before. PNY makes great memory I received it in two days. This new customer will be back.

The memory configurator showed no memory available for this system, but it works well on my 333 Mhz system. Great economical boost to an old system.

I was running Windows 98SE and due to software support issues had to upgrade to Windows XP. After the software upgrade the system was DOG! slow and swapping like mad. After much research I ordered three 256MB PNY modules and installed them. TRUE plug and play! On first boot I had 768MB of memory and now the system running better than it ever did!

R.J. Rating: Review Date: 08/08/05	PNY 256MB PC100 / PC133 SDRAM 100 / 133MHz Memory Comment: I installed the RAM the day it arrived. My system is a Dell SmartStep 100D. It had 128 MB of RAM prior to boasting that with the installation's 256 MB. I used the PNY memory finder at pny.com to find the correct memory to use with my system. The load time from boot to desktop seemed to be significantly faster. I am running Windows 2000 Professional and increased the pagefile size for the virtual memory from 192 MB to 573 MB. This provides more memory for software applications. PNY also included a free copy of System Mechanic 5 with the shipment. I did not know at the time of purchase that this would happen. There was a $10 shipping and handling charge to receive the $50 software. System Mechanic 5 is a tremendous suite of tools for optimizing your systems performance. I'm very happy with PNY's product.
