I purchased 2 of these for my Dell Inspiron 5100 laptop (which came with 256MB installed), now I have 1GB (the maximum) and it's faster now! For those with the same laptop, update your BIOS before installing and it will work. Great price too.

After a few tries with others, PNY finally worked with my 5 Year old Compaq Presario 2598us. Everybody's memory configurators said PC2100 (266MHz) for my laptop, yet the factory 256's that were in there were labled PC2700. The reason for the additional memory was to speed up the laptop so you can see why I was reluctant to drop down to PC2100. THANKS PNY!!!

This would not work with my PC2100, I even tried it on its own , but still would not boot. Tried on my Dell Inspiron and on a Toshiba Satilite

PNY claim this memory to be compitable with PC2100. However, my HP ze4400 notebook can not recognized it, even with upgrade to the latest BIOS. Be aware and don't make the same mistake like I did.

The PNY memory configurator said that this RAM would be compatible with my Compaq Presario 2585US laptop. But, when I installed the 2 sticks (either singly or in pairs) the system wouldn't recognize it, and thus couldn't even get to the boot screen. PNY's technical support is a maze of phone menus that never lets you talk to a live person. I ended up having to put my old RAM back and limp along with 512 MB (which is unfortunetely shared with the video card). Most disappointing.

You can't notice a real significant increase in speed, but the product does work just fine, so it's up to you, i'm not sure just how much of a difference in speed this addition of memory is supposed to make..

I am not all that thrilled about this memory... I have a Dell latitude 100L and I just didn't feel the difference of speed when I upgraded. I went from 512MB to 1GB and I was hoping for blazing speed but I didn't get anywhere near that! Someone told me crucial memory are the best in the market so I'll keep that in my for the future

Just put in my Toshiba 2410 laptop. Nothing exciting but works as advertised and very good price. Timing is Cas 2 at 133Mhz which is great for older laptop.
