Bought for Value; Has lived up to expectation

Bought in 07/2009 to add dual-monitor capability to computer. I use for simple graphical display and not for graphic-intensive applications. I would strongly recommend this product if you have the same objective. I consider myself somewhat technologically savvy, but I did need to call tech support for help installing this card (software, not hardware installation). If you've installed a graphics card before, I suspect this wouldn't be a problem. Changes do not need to be made in BIOS (as the booklet led me to believe). Disabling the SiS driver in my Windows OS was my hangup. Again, not hard to do, just confusing. Tech support was very helpful and knowledgeable. |

I bought this card about 3 months ago and I didn't have any problems getting it to work, but I do agree that the drivers that came with the card are crap. You definately have to go to the nvidia website and download the updated drivers. I run My Flight Simulator X, one of the most RAM and CPU bogging applications ever created, fairly well with decent graphics. |

Not sure why, but when I installed the GeForce 5200 the CD driver software kept telling me that the card was not installed, even though it was in my device manager. I went to GeForce's web site which is the PNY web site and finally, after much searching was able to find the driver and managed to download it. Had nothing but problems getting the display right AND tech support for this product is horrible. The PNY web site is extremely confusing and was no support at all with my issues. I had to call PNY for tech support and you actually have to leave a message for someone to call you back.... they did, a day later and I have yet to be able to talk with anyione from tech suport while I am at my computer....very very frustrating...not happy with this card...not happy |
This card is plug and play. No need to install drivers from cdrom. Windows XP recognized this card and installed generic drivers that work fine. Inexpensive option for any 2 monitor system.
