Great RAM and value
Comment:
RAM is fast for it's class. The heat spreaders are already on the RAM, don't have to put them on after opening package, and they are on the RAM solid. Very good value with the rebate going on at this time.

Excellent performance... and it's practically free
Comment:
After rebates, this RAM is cheaper than 2 coffees at Starbucks. How can you beat that?? Took only 3 minutes to swap out the RAM, and my PC runs perfect.

$13.99? How can you pass that up?! I had problems getting the dual channel going with this RAM, but I think it was due to the BIOS of the mobo I was using it in (Acer E500)... I wasn't able to use both sticks. When I called Patriot's "Free Technical Support" number, I discovered that they had only one guy doing it at a time. I left a message for him a week ago, and haven't heard from them since... Still, for the price, I still feel good about my purchase!

Great Memory for the price
Comment:
I paid $10 for this memory. That was too good to pass up. I'm using it to run Vista Premium 64. It does what I need it to do.

Awesome!
Comment:
Runs full speed when undervolted at 1.9 volts and faster than advertised at stock voltage, though a performance advantage is not indicated with AMD OD benchmark. Sandra Lite shows 8.0 GB/sec bandwidth at 4-4-4-12, about 66% of the theoretical limit. Still faster than my old PC2-5300, despite being less efficient. About all of those "DOA" sticks: Don't push on the heat sinks as you insert them into the slots! These stick seem particularly succeptable to damage during installation because the heatsinks are glued directly to the chips and are not supported by the board. I suspect that the ball grid arrays are damaged by installation error on most of these RMA chips. The only thing that could be worse, would be flexing the sticks before putting them in.

I bought this RAM for my brother's computer and it works great. He is running Ubuntu 9.04 with all the bells and whistles enabled in Compiz Fusion. Would recommend it to anyone especially because of the price.

Patriot 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
Comment:
Installed fine, no problems with Windows XP. Ran Memtest86+ and GoldMemory tests on these before booting all the way. Only ran tests for 5 min. but showed fine. Showed speed as 435mhz (ddr 870) timings 5-5-5-12. Then booted Windows XP and recognized fine with no fuss at all. The metal heat sinks are a nice bonus. A good value with the mail in rebate. Don't know longevity yet, but so far I would buy again.

Patriot 2GB (2 x 1GB) DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory
Comment:
Great price after rebate. Problem is one of the first sticks was DOA. Memory was loose in blister pack when it was delivered. Tigerdirect was great about returning and I ordered replacement and they arrived quickly and in working order. There is better latency memory out there but this is very affordable gaming memory on a budget. So go for it while it's cheap.

I bought this 3 and a half months ago. It still is holding up just fine, and I've been running it overclocked with the voltage raised. This is a must have. I'll be buying another 2 Gigs of this soon.
