Patriot PPSE60GS25SSDR Pyro SE Series 60GB 2.5IN SATA3 SandForce Solid State Disk Flash Drive SSD
Cons:Not the fastest SSD, although good for the price.
Pros:Cheap and better than an HDD Comment:
Bought this as part of some upgrades I was doing to an older machine. For the $61 I got it for on sale, it satisfies. It is not as fast as some newer SSD's I have used (intel), but it is still much faster than an HDD. Using an SSD as a boot drive is the best speed upgrade that can be done on an older machine. |

Installed in my 2010 Macbook Pro - cold boots in a little over five seconds with this drive. Great cost per GB - would recommend! |

This SATA3 SSD is fast and the windows experience index grants it the maximum performance rating. [better than my other SSD from a previous generation (OCZ Vertex 2)]Unfortunately this product does not come with a mounting bracket to help you install it in a 3.5" drive bay, or any SATA cables. Luckily I had left overs from a previously built system, but others may not be so lucky. However, many modern cases now have features to directly accommodate 2.5" drives, and motherboards come with some SATA cables, but not always enough.
