Installed with out difficulty The initial set of RAM prompted an error message with installation of Windows 7 that indicated malfunction. Newegg replaced RAM. The stick that works will do 1600MHz at eight-8-eight-21 with no hickups at all. A single stick is poor and provides errors all the time I ran Memtest86+ on the stick that was acting up at stock speeds/timings/voltage. gave errors in memtest86 inside 1 minute. Took that one out and put in the other stick that is very good, and the test can run 10hours+ with no complications. If each sticks would have worked, i would have naturally gave 5 stars, but now im possibly gonna have to rma. Fantastic heat sinks! seems to disperse heat quite nicely. stable, haven't had a single challenge. I'm paired with an AMD 1055t 6 core and all functions great! make sure you have area for your cpu heat sink to clear the rank sinks. they do stick out a bit. you may possibly have to manually set your ram speed in bios. this is the fault of your mobo and not the ram!!! the ram even comes with one thing explaining this. simply because of the a lot of diverse varieties of ddr3 speeds, motherboards can get confused and put the wrong speed. one particular reviewer believed he was over clocking his ram and freaked out, that is incorrect. Do some research and make sure you know what your carrying out. all in all i believe its a great item and I'm very pleased with both dims. am3 - ddr3 rox! |

Low cost Didn't operate with my AsRock Extreme3 motherboard w/ AMD processor. Probably great for other systems. To be fair Patriot has an AMD-precise line of RAM. I just wish it was much more clear that the non-AMD RAM wouldn't perform with the AMD.
