Didn't work for me.
Comment:
Good-My OS recognized this product. It quickly read my floppy and produced a list of documents to choose from. Bad-The product would not convert my files so that I could read them. It also showed on several of my floppies that the disk needs to be formatted. Not true, as I was able to use an old computer later that read my disks easily. Caveat Emptor.

This product fills a need. I had no way to use my information stored on floppy disk. This product works well. It's small and compact and I have had not problems with it.

Works

I only pluged it into a XP system and a Vista system, it was recognized by both. I put a disc in it and it was recognized. Other than that I have not tried it yet.

Good deal

Build quality is average, powers off the USB, nice slim size. USB cable is not detachable from drive. If you have tons of data on old crappy floppy disks this thing will be your new best friend. If you are a teenager you can keep on laughing. It's a floppy drive... what else can be said.

Best deal for reading old diskette and moving them forward to CD Rom - many were over 15 years old and read them just perfect!

Good Product

We now have 3 PCs without a floppy drive. I guess I'm old fashioned but I sure like those protected, reusable disks for small files and boot programs as well as sneaker net between machines when one is off the Enet. They are real handy for BIOS updates.

Not as advertised and never worked
Comment:
Although this is listed as a Power Up brand floppy drive, there is no brand name on the drive. When I first used the drive, it was extremely slow and died within 15 minutes of usage. I returned it and got a replacement drive, which also died within 15 minutes. I returned it. I will by a WORKING floppy drive from another company that accurately advertises their products and doesn't replace a brand name item with a no-name knockoff.

Purchased as a backup drive for mechanical specific data transfer. Cheaper than 500 dollars to update other device. Works fine.

THIS is a DEAL!!
Comment:
After reading through all the reviews, I had mixed feelings about ordering this drive. I'm handicapped - without the use of my left hand - getting the drive out of its display package was a major challenge. But after that, it was as easy as plugging it into an unused USB port - worked pefectly on my XP machine and gave my system the floppy drive it lacked.

Totally useless
Comment:
Bought this because it had gotten such rave reviews. Have tried to use it on my computer with Vista. Didn't work so tried it again with a computer using windows XP. Still didn't work. It was supposed to work in both. I feel I spent my money for something that is totally worthless. Would not recommend this to anyone.

New CPU, No floppy device
Comment:
With my new CPU, I realized there was no floppy reader. I did install my old hard drive (being smart) since my mother board failed. I really needed a floppy reader, etc. and I found this one. NO software issues or startup problems...just plug and play - the way it should be. Thanks for your service.
