I enjoy using the burner EXCEPT I can only get it to burn successfully dvdrw, there have been a few occasions the dvd will burn but no sound....I have burned dvdr but it does not play in my dvd player, i have tried to use the dvdr but it kept ejecting the disc..... Overall its worth the price that I paid.

took it out the box,read the instructions,then hooked it up,no problem.i would recommend this writer for all that crave simplicity.

Great player, i have yet to use it to burn discs but i'm sure that'll work fine as well. The software seems a bit on the shotty side...i have a new Gateway Netbook and bought this item because it was inexpensive and it matched my gateway's color (call me shallow...lol). The player was easy, plugged it in, my netbook recognized it right away and it was good to go, i installed the software and the software acted a bit on the shaky side. I had to uninstall it and install it again for it to work properly, i may just nix it altogether, but the player works great with or without it.

it is a very light and protable equipment that serves its purpose. you dont even have to plug in both USB cables for it to work

Plug and play performance is important to me. I have been in electronics since 1946 and have had to learn and learn some more. I really apperciate a piece of equipment that just plugs in and runs flawlessly as this one did and does, no quirks, no learning curve. A very neat quiet package, attractive addition to my netbook. Good buy.

I ordered 2 other dvd readers from another website and they were complete garbage!! Then I found this one. It does everything for just a few dollars more than the others. Just plugged this one in and it worked!!! Great product.

Worked great right ou of the box on my 10.5 inch netbook. Didn't need to use the dual USB cable supplied as a single USB plugged in supplied plenty of power. Good deal if you can get it for under $50.

Having recently invested in netbooks for my daughter, my wife and myself, it seemed like it would be convenient to have an optical drive that we could share between us. I chose this product for a number of reasons. First, because it doesn't require an outside power source, it runs on power from your usb ports. I don't have to carry around a power supply. Second, I've come to trust the brand of the product. Third, size and appearance. It's small, thin, light, and has a beautiful dark red finish. Fourth, the price. My wife and I are both full time students, and with two young children at home, our income is limited. PROS: Small, Light, Attractive, Doesn't have to be plugged in. Feels sturdy, not all cheap and flimsy. CONS: It's not a racehorse. If you're looking for something fast and high performance, you probably won't be satisfied. Overall, it's perfect for me and the way I use my computers. Good job!

Worked perfect right out of the box on my new 11.6 netbook. Very compact -easy to travel with. Looking for a case to carry both the netbook and burner. The red even matches my netbook. Usual excellent service from Tiger.
