Great unit, ABS plastic, brass inserts for the machine screws, extremely smooth unit.. I don't know of as of but... some guts choose on the plastic, but the last time I checked, dropping a HD is NOT incredibly fantastic for it. So as far as the fit and machining go, they function incredibly well. prior to assembly... sort all the screw into piles of the identical kind. Flat Top for the drive, round head for the rails...etc...it comes with adequate hardware....ALL Good by ME...

Greatest removable tray / Bay for the price. I've utilised this removable bay / tray for over a year in four diverse computers. I own 8 of the bays. The unit has been flawless so far with additional than 8 drives going in and out of the computers for photo archival and information movement. The power switch is crucial and works excellent! I've employed all kinds of drives in them, WD, Seagate, and Samsung. All work nicely. The fan is extremely very and the drives remain pretty cool. I haven't tried a Raptor drive in the tray...I'd fear that the drive would get too hot for this unit. I'd advise this unit extremely considerably. None that I can feel of for the price...If I wanted a metal case with a high powered fan...I'd spend a lot more and anticipate a lot a lot more. If you want a โ unit obtain one, don't anticipate a ฝ unit to do a lot more.

Absolute great fit and outstanding performace, plus it has a bottom fan just to keep issues on the cool side. Couldn't locate any, did just what it was suppose to do. Would recommend to others, just be certain which kind drive your supporting this is a Sata removable enclosure

I've had and used this rack (with extra tray) as a swap among Linux and Windows... and they carry out flawlessly. I don't use them for hot-swapping, although... given that my primary drive runs via the rack, I have to energy down before switching trays, so I can't speak to that capability. I haven't identified any yet...

Very good removable rack style (drive mounts in removable tray). Uses both style power connectors (Molex & SATA). No defects in manufacturing. Having the drive in a plastic tray like this 1 has limits the chance of damaging the drive even though handling it (static charge or other). In this instance I tried just 'dropping' the drive in the tray rather than screw mounting. The Western Digital drive fit perfectly and is not loose! :-) This one does not have metal contact to the drive from the machine case mounting bay to dissipate any static electric create up which the Quite old IDE drives could have a challenge with. I don't think this is a challenge on newer drives. I'm applied to this "old style" tray concept but thanks to SATA it now is far easier and more trustworthy than the old IDE trays (I broke the tray's IDE connectors swapping in and out my IDE drives). I'm glad that I got this style as apposed to the other 'open' style as I be concerned a lot less about accidents with this tray style.

Fantastic mobile rack for the price it works perfectly with the 250gb sata drive I put in it. It works good for a dual boot technique exactly where you want a second drive for the second OS. It has a power button so I can easily turn it on or off without having removing the drive from it. Fan is quiet and keeps the harddrive cool. None It is plastic so be careful when taking drive in and out not to harm the bay. The plastic is off good top quality although. I don't take mine out significantly so it need to last me a lengthy time.

1. Energy button - the key reason I bought it. Great to just turn it off when the HD not becoming employed and leave it in the baytwo. Low costthree. Doesn't really feel inexpensive 1. Brass inserts for the screws only at the bottom. I had to screw in the middle plastic holes for my P182 rails so don't know if it will last. 2. Power button light - you have to level your eye to the button to see the light, not extremely helpful.3. The 2 smaller led for HDD energy and access in the front doesn't function. Perhaps damaged due to shipping due to the fact I can see the led blinking from the back but there's a broken piece of transparent plastic at the bottom of the bay, which suppose to be connected to the front leds. four. Fan - not quiet as other people say, certainly can hear it when it's on inside a P182. Maybe damaged due to shipping? Newegg shipping and packaging, errrr...... utilised to be better, a lot better.If you look at the item picture, the box is specifically the size of the bay, there's no padding or protection in between the bay and the thin box. And but, Newegg shipped it in a soft catalog envelope. Possibly the damage in the cons had been due to poor shipping package. Shipping from the exact same warehouse takes a couple far more days longer than it applied to.

It comes in black and simple to install non so far I bought the i bought the SNT-125B to add much more storage space to my WHS box. I this unit for two uncomplicated factors initial it was black and second it was low-cost. The unit has been running for the final 90 days non stop and I'm rather happy with it's performance.

Fits nicely in the bay, Cooling fan a plus. Does what it is meant for at a good cost. Lock is modest and tough to use for larger fingers For the cost it does nicely for a removable backup drive.
