SilenX EFZ-80HA2 Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:
Awkward mounting requires removal of motherboard and its prexisting cooler bracket. Not a PWM fan.
Pros: Very quiet, cools well in an HTPC Comment:
If you can get this unit on sale it is an excellent value. If you're creating a new build then the awkward mounting isn't such a big deal. It requires its own bracket be attached to the motherboard, in place of the plastic one (in the case of an AM2 - AM3 board). I used it to quiet my 7750 and it worked well when manually adjusted to the quickest fan speed that was inaudible a few feet away. A PWM fan would be nice, and isn't unreasonable to expect. I have since change to an i3 550 for the HTPC and re-used this cooler. It works even better with the more efficient CPU. I wouldn't use it in conjuntion with overclocking mind you. |

SilenX EFZ-80HA2 Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:
not really a weakness but I'd recommend installing it with the mobo out of your case.
Pros: Nicely built with lots of extras. Comment:
I used the extra rubber mounts to install an arctic cooler fan to push (attached to mobo header) & the included fan to pull (attached to PSU via the include fan control). This produced low temps and almost no noise. |

SilenX EFZ-80HA2 Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:
Direct touch heatpipes make thermal paste spreading a little more tricky than the common application.
Pros: Uprgadeability in terms of fans, very quiet, looks good, supports many chipsets. Comment:
I took this product and mounted a 80mm to 120mm fan adapter to it. This let me increase the cfm while dropping the noise levels. It comes with great rubber mounts for reducing vibrations as well. Just be careful with the fins as they are somewhat sharp. |

SilenX EFZ-80HA2 Fluid Dynamic CPU Cooler
Cons:
IF you are looking for a nice way to reduce stock settings temps, then this is alright, but for overclocking you might want to opt for the next size up.
Pros: Inexpensive, I was going to say cheap, but its not. Comment:
Clean unit, quiet at load and fairly easy to install, best thing of all is price. You can not only pretty up a rig for dirt cheap, but its useful for normal processing. I suggest this product for non-overclocking pcs. |
Bought this cooler from another site (unfortunately mainly because newegg ran out of stock). But I have to say it's fairly energy for 80mm fans, I set mine up with a push\pull method with 2 Rosewill 80mm fans, and it keeps my AM2+ Phenom II x 4 about 35 Celsius Idle and 47-51 Celsius Full Load and pretty effortless install.Mounts for Push\Pull included.Really silentMounting pad for manual override fan controls.great temperature for overclocking. Didn't come with a three-four pin splitter.Instruction where not really descriptive. (no detail into what washers particularly to use.) But I managed. This thing is fairly good for 17 bucks, fit into my case and didn't block my DIMM slots even for my Corsair XMS 8gb ram which has pretty large heat sync's on them, and my Zalman Cooling fan on leading of that.
