Excellant product
Comment:
I was really suprised at the quality of this product. The speakers work just as well with this audio device as the computer with a sound card. I am very pleased with the adapter.

Did what it was supposed to do
Comment:
I'm always suprised by people who expect so much from so little. This is a little $20 ''fix-it'' device. This is not intented to be or to replace a high-dollar sound card on a computer geared for multimedia. It IS intended to give basic sound with little effort at a cheap price...which it does. We used it to give sound capabilities to a server and it functioned well right out of the package. No installation, no configuring, instant sound. Great little product for the price.

Doesn't Work
Comment:
I purchased this thinking I could use it to add headphones to my computer and still have the regular speakers. However, the product does not work with VISTA operating system, so I am stuck with something that does't serve me at all.

Satisfied with purchase
Comment:
If you are in a situation where your systems' sound card is no longer functional, this device will serve as a reasonable substitute. For XP SP3 - it worked fine.

Works like a Charm
Comment:
After installing a new 64-bit OS none of my sound devices worked Rather than invest in expensive sound cards etc I tried this unit actually 2 of them They both worked perfectly the first time no drivers needed I use 1 to drive the external speakers the other for headphones and microphone When I plug in the headphone unit the other automatically disables exactly what I want it to do I ll probably never buy a sound card again My more exotic needs for quality audio are met by other equipment Highly recommended. There are no adjustable features. I don't need any. Quality of equipment is fine, quality of sound is adequate, but not super quality. As far as performance - when I plug it in, it works. What more can one ask? As for value - even if it were not of such quality, it would be cheap at the price. Highly recommended.

Works well out of box.
Comment:
Works fine with Win7. More convenient than having to switch my speaker and headphone leads when I want to use Skype. My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to work with Linux.

Unfortunate purchase
Comment:
I bought two after reading the manual and examining the data sheet for the included IC. When I hooked one up and connected it to my board, Audacity said that the noise level was -30 dB. I switched adapters and the other was -35 dB. Five or six bits worth. D*8 OK, I turned on my mikes and looked at the result. I found that while both left and right appeared at Audacity, only the left input was digitized. It appears to be a monaural microphone jack. I moved the stereo jack from the audio adapter to my trusty T23 ThinkPad, got around -96 dB noise floor, and perfect stereo. No change to the board or the cabling, just move the jack from one device to the other. I have not evaluated the headphone output yet. Most of my laptops have a functioning stereo headphone jack.

Great performance for the money.
Comment:
The thing doesn't look like much and the fact is there is nothing fancy about it but if you want a sound card that works well consistently I doubt anything will top it in this price range. I have been giving it a good pounding with music and voice chatting on Skype and nobody can tell that I am not using my regular sound card. I got a splitter for the ear phone jack since the unit only offers and input and output jack and is smaller than a flash drive. The bottom line is it works very well and for the price I might pick up another one some fine day just to have a spare because it sounds great.

No setup, just works
Comment:
Bought this for a friend's @ell laptop instead of replacing the motherboard when the headphone jack broke lose from the motherboard. It does exactly what it says. Just need to be sure to use the USB extension cable to prevent breakage of the device or USB port.

Excellent!
Comment:
I purchased this when the MB sound card failed, and it works great! It's light on "features", but if all you want to do is listen to music it'll get you back up in less than a minute. It's not as elegant as an internal sound card, but there were no issues with drivers (Vista).

I've had this for about a month now, and it does just what I wanted. I have a USB sound system, and it is too loud at night, so this little item works great. Plug and play, and no conflicts. Great Buy

A decent product
Comment:
I purchased this product for a Vista machine to restore functionality to my headphone jacks. A power surge took out my mic jack on the motherboard and I did not want to replace the whole thing just for VoIP! For about $20 I got a handly little device to return my ability to use Skype and VoIP applications. It worked instantly, right out of the box. All I had to do was set it to the default device for playback and recording, and I was in business. Supports any headset and has zero chop or delay when using audio applications. Remember this will not give you surround sound, just a USB headset jack! It does what it says and a good price.

Great little plug in solution to noisey mic input on typical sound card. Works as advertised - can't beat the price.

Perfect quick fix
Comment:
My laptop sound card went bad, and this little gadget was the perfect fix - cheap, simple, and true plug & play. It was up and running in seconds. There's some feedback when you use headphones with Skype but it clears up right away as soon as you start dialing.

Super little product
Comment:
This was the answer to my headset woes. I have two headsets with mics used for Skype. My speakers took up my available mini-stereo ports and this was a super easy way to use my headsets again. No problems with drivers (Vista) and they include a short flexible USB cable to accomodate plugging in additional USB devices since this device will block an adjoining USB port. Very satisfied. Tiger did a great job in shipping and everything went better than expected. Highly recommend.

works but a hassle when used with a working laptop
Comment:
Plugged it in, driver loaded, worked great. Plugged it in the second time and it did not work. I had to uninstall the internal driver then it again worked however the internal speakers no longer functioned. Reinstalled internal driver then internal speakers worked but the adapter did not. The only reason I'm going through all of this is that my laptop causes a noise when playing through my mixer and amps. The adapter eliminates the noise so all is good.
