Decided to replace my mainstream buffalo linkstation ls-ch1 with something higher in performance. You get what you pay for in this case. Even without jumbo frames enabled, the synology managed to provide read/write speeds of 70-100MB/s over my gigabit network (raid 5)DSM 3.0 has lots of features (download mgr, ssh, web hosting, file browser etc). it's also very pretty and easy to use.Sure it's expensive and some other NAS has slightly better performance, but for someone that just want something high quality that works out of the box, I highly recommend this unit.
