TP-Link TD-8816 External ADSL2/2+ Ethernet Router
Cons:- no really much difference vs other modems
Pros:- working as described- work with acanac internet Comment:
I am using Acanac and it works flawless. Hoever, Acanac modem they rent is just as good as this one, meaning you won't get any much improvement or no improvements noticeable when you switch one for another. But this one looks to reflect better adsl2, however this feature is not offered by my ISP. |

TP-Link TD-8816 External ADSL2/2+ Ethernet Router
Cons:Very bad line stats with marginal lines
Pros:Perfect for those close to the CO Comment:
Great modem for the price. The chipset used is by Trendchip (not to be confused with Trendnet), which works very well if you are close to the central office. If you are far away from the central office (i.e. have a marginal line), a Broadcom chipset or a TI AR7 chipset will give better DSL line stats. If you are close to the central office, the Trendchip will give better results than the Broadcom or AR7. |
Picked this over the ones provided by ISPs and save a lot of $$. Does the job well and since I had to use the modem with a tomato based router, needed something simple.Highly recommended.
