Operates just fine, decent size and feels sturdy. Has one particular of the double-plug USB adapters even though with my WDC blue it operates fine with just a single. I was a tiny amazed that there's no electrical insulation sheet or with this case that you can put amongst the challenging-drive and the aluminum situation. I had 1 from an older situation, but that need to truly be part of this. Also the installation directions (not that you truly need them) had absolutely nothing to do with this enclosure but how to connect a USB drive to your personal computer..

Works as advertised Smaller screws are not captive and are easily lost.Hijack the installed drive's identity, displaying "Transcend xxx" in the device manager instead of the identity of the installed drive. This prevents disk drive manufacturer offered tools (e.g. the Intel branded Arconis tools) from working. Con Š tends to make it useless for SSD upgrades, and so on. unless you have non-manufacturer distinct tools (i.e. not free).

drive tight in case,working good on my old 60gb ps3 Seagate drive,downloaded formatter made great external HD for my automobile.A+ had to down load a formatter from Transcend to get it to pull up on my computer. It silver not white.Don`t know what I would use the y cable for. formats in 58.5gb fat32 or ntfs

Fits a two.5" drive fine - snug. Little and doesn't appear cheap, so even if it expenses more, it appears much better. None.

Runs on USB power with no external power brick. The USB cord it comes with has two USB plugs on the personal computer side to spread the power draw over two USB connections.I've been employing this enclosure for about six months with no difficulties. Quite handy for saving your pals' data when they spill soda/beer/pinesol/etc on their laptop. Enclosure isn't super uncomplicated to open. There's two screws at either finish. Takes about forty 5 seconds to put a drive into the enclosure. Wish it was like two seconds. Or possibly a single.

two Screws out and plug-in your 2.5" HDD, and two Screws back in, straightforward Setup. Transcend spent too much dollars on bulky boxing and wrapping & printed material. **********************For Windows7 users make certain download "StoreJet Formatter" utility and StoreJet application from Transcend net site. Then format HDD with Formatter.

No issues employing with Windows 7, smaller and compact. Great obtain for the price tag. I purchased this from Newegg to home my old HP laptop tough drive. The enclosure was slightly smaller than the challenging drive in the width dimension, largely due to the screw holds for the enclosure. I was in a position to take away the cover plate of the hard drive, and then it fit. A smaller problem for an otherwise great enclosure.

WOrks great, i purchased two, 1 for me and a friend and they're fine.I installed a 7200 rpm drive in and it gets warm but nothing too poor. nada uncomplicated to install, you will require 1 of the seriously small screwdrivers

Nice quality of supplies. It does what it must, put a disk in and use it. Connectors and cable are of excellent good quality. No case is included, but I purchased a neoprene sleeve at the ũ retailer and that worked good. What is that mystery button on the back?. Most likely for some backup computer software I don't want/need. No directions included, but if you can't figure out how to take off two screws and stuff in a drive, you're almost certainly buying a pre-built external anyway.I put some random 40GB Fujitsu drive in, leftover from upgrading a laptop. Fit with no complications.

SORRY TIGER-MINE ARRIVED DOA. TRIED 3 COMPUTERS...ONLY THING THAT HAPPINS IS THE LIGHT COMES ON...WHOOPIE. STILL WAITING FOR RMA, 1 MONTH NOW. WON'T BUY EVER AGAIN...!

I use this to keep my workout videos on and use it with the WD HD Media Player. works great and no problems with setup or startup everytime. I especially like that you dont need an external power supply.

Worked exactly as desired...took exactly 10 minutes to get the drive installed in the case and to access the data on it. I highly recommend this...I used it to 'resurrect' data when my daughters laptop 'died'...since buying this...I now have a large portable drive.
