ULTRA 4-Port USB PCI Bracket

I'm hearing lots of people complain about the lack of usb headers and brackets included with their MOBOs. 2-port brackets are fairly plentiful, but 4 save more space and are needed with all the ports on motherboards these days. This was very solid construction with long 18'' cables so they'll reach almost anywhere. Just what I needed!

this item worked with no install or setup problems! I added this to a custom built desk top with motherboard header and really had no problems getting my Windows XP system to recognize and get the hardware working; only took 5 minutes to add to the system; also a well made part

Solid construction, but my lack of tech savvy messed me up. My older computer's mother board has no extra male 7-pin connectors (2 parallel rows of 4 and 3 male pins, one of which is plugged up in the unit's female connector for keying purposes). I'll keep it tho, for my next computer. From this I've learned that both this unit and my Dell computer want only 2 USB ports on each 7-pin connector (the unit has 2 of these female connectors for its 4 ports).

Unit is surprisingly well made and solid. Excellent value for the unit. Also excellent value for use of PC real estate: connect up to 4 USB ports directly off the motherboard, thus getting as close to the USB-controller chipset as possible. Since most motherboards these days use the 10-pin dual-port header, this is the correct part to enable max connectivity of your motherboard-based USB ports.

The Cable is NOT 18-in, as advertised. Only 15.75-in. The 18-in is from the outside of the USB bracket to the end of the motherboard connector. Package explicitly states 'Cable length: 18in.' The 2.25-in of cable they trimmed off can be a problem on larger motherboards. Pathetic web-site. DELETED my entire review that came after a double-quote character (inches). Not going to type it all again. Also, We do not accept special characters in our Reviews. But they don't tell you what those characters are.

Installed in an D945Gccr MB, did not work at first, had to re-arrange all the wires to correspond to MB connector. It has one wire missing, seems not to matter. Have not tried 2 usb devices on it at the same time as of yet.

Cables reach plenty far, good spacing on bracket, USB 1.x, 2.x compatible ... what else do you need?

I was a bit unsure about purchase being that I have the HUGE ULTRA M923 Case. Is the cable long enough? However by drilling out bigger holes in the front plastic drive bay cover I managed to makeshift 4 additional front side USB2.0 ports. Holding in place nice and tight with a zip tie. Thanks Tiger

This works the way it is advertised on this site. No drivers to install, no hidden tricks after the fact, and no problems whatsoever, even for a confessed amateur. It works as it should, it does what you need it to do. What else is there to say?
