My eveready charger fried itself and this replacement is great good price and the unit works even better than expected. Definitely can not beat it for price and quality.

Device is supposed to be automatic. Red light means charging, green light means done. Not so kimosabe. Green light means nothing. Green light means you have enough juice for 5 pictures. Leaving it plugged in for 5 hours does the trick. Batteries are finally charged enough to take 50 pictures, which I can live with.

Had this combo for a while... I just finished some heavy digital photo shooting from Monday to Friday of about 600 photos and some with flash and mostly in the cold. Batteries were charged possiblyabout 3 to 4 weeks before the task. Batteries were incredibly long lasting. No problems with the charger.

Junk, the charger doesn't properly sense charge level, and the batteries will not hold a charge anyways. Do yourself a favor and buy Energizer Nimhs instead.

Scrawlmark: Laptop batteries are Li-Ion, not Ni-MH! Li-Ion will catch fire if overcharged. Ni-MH are completely different technology. Ni-MH (and Li-Ion) don't charge hot naturally. All batteries charge hot when fast charged, or overcharged.

I have owned this unit for over a year, and I am satisfied with its performance. The Ultra batteries that came with the unit are still working properly after several charges. I have used other major brand name rechargeable batteries in the unit, and have only had problems with Energizers losing their charge rapidly. Charges quickly, and batteries tend to hold their charge quite well. The only problem I have encountered is a design issue. For a while, I was experiencing numerous brown-outs at my home, due to a short in my circuit-breaker box. Until I managed to get this under control, my battery charger would consistently show the batteries as uncharged and charging, even if the power dipped only for a few seconds. The charger would then start to charge the batteries all over again, somehow sensing the batteries as not having a full charge, even if they had been trickle charging at full for hours or days. Any disruption in power, the cycle starts anew.

dont waste your money, 2 charger ports went dead a couple of months after purchase. batteries dont hold a charge and dicharge quickly.

''Flimsy''? No, it's plastic. Solid enough, wiggles a bit on the plug hinge (nice feature). Look. The NiMH chemistry charges hot (remember the laptop fires?); spec seZ working temp to 70C, which is hotter than your shower. Single AA in solar yard light lasts some nine hours on solar charge (Ni-Cd goes two hours). Two AAs in pocket flash last five hours (turn on, walk away, check clock). Real miracle is Fuji S3100 3.2Mpxl; first time it's stayed working past five shots, period. 30-40 pics, 4 AAs not even off voltage. Tnx, guys.

Very nice charger, individual lights (red turning to green on charge completion). Charges quickly (though not superfast). Compact enough that I can carry it around. Have not yet tested the batteries that came along but in general am quite pleased with the device thus far.

Purchased a while back. Now only two of the battery slots work for charging.The batteries still work well. Not bad for the money.

Very impressive! I had a Radio Shack charger that cost twice as much and took 4 times longer. This charger lets me know if a battery is bad as well! Well worth it! Great product!

I love this product! I always have fresh, long lasting batteries for my digital camera! Before getting this recharger and batteries, I was spending a small fortune in alkaline batteries as well as having to replace them DURING photo events. I will never go back to alkaline!

Great package deal! Batteries don't last as long as my Energizer 2500 ones though. Please note that the NiMh rating only means how much energy the battery absorbs when being charged. I wish they published the Watt-hour ratings instead because this will tell you how long the battery will last in a given device. My Powerex 2000s seem to last just as long as the Ultra 2500s in a device because the Powerex ones have a high Watt-hour rating. Note that NiMh batteries reach their full potential after at least 5 cycles of discharging/charging. The charger uses a negative Delta V microchip to monitor voltage, but I could not tell whether it uses delta temperature and a trickle charge to ensure best results. Would recommend to friends.
