Cons:air intake are small. I have to set the fan to maximum speed to have a decent disk temperature, so it is a little bit audible.
Pros:Swapping disks becomes easy. Comment:
I have two EZ Swap trays. The oldest is 1.5 years old and still working well. There is at least a 6°C cooler difference between the temperature displayed on the EZ Swap and the real temperature reported by the disk (but nothing to worry about). |

I happened to catch ONE of these in stock and snagged it for a test. My trusty old Vantec EZSwaps (v.1) have to step aside. This latest revision is more functional and cheaper. Build quality is sound and this is the only cart-less design I can find WITH a fan under $40. I think anyone with data to protect should pop a pair of these into their builds so there are no more excuses ("opening the case and swapping drives is a pain - I'll do it NEXT week") for not doing your backups. Slick front LED, fan control, and air intake is an improvement on earlier designs. Old cartidge-based solutions be gone. Hey NCIX, please stock these! |
