Western Digital Green 6TB SATA3 6GB/S Intellipower 64MB Cache 3.5in Internal Hard Drive OEM
Cons:It's not so nice paying $300 up front. But it will probably save me money in the long run.

Pros:Huge size. Low price per GB.
Comment:
I bought this to replace a failed 2TB drive in a RAID1 array. The other 4TB will just be empty for now. But I have several other RAID1 arrays. The next time a drive fails, I'll be able to use some of the remaining 4TB to replace that failed drive.

Western Digital Green 6TB SATA3 6GB/S Intellipower 64MB Cache 3.5in Internal Hard Drive OEM
Cons:- slow (due to the energy features)

Pros:- large capacity- energy features
Comment:
I'm using this drive as general storage of data which is fine. Not good as an OS drive or anything requiring heavy access due to the slower rotation speed.

I got 2 of those 6Tb drives last monday, first one went right inside my main pc and is being written-to since (copying/moving Tb's of data does take quite some time)I just put the 2nd one in one of my ext. usb enclosure and was surprised to see it detected as just short of 1.5Tb.Googling this, it seems I am not the only one with size issue when using usb enclosure.Later today, I will install this 2nd drive internally and will report if its FULL capacity is detectedEDIT: As suspected, the drive shows full capacity when connected internally.Neverthless, its not a big issue for me, as I was not planning to use it as external/usb permanently anyway, but for those of you who will, be advised WD support page state you're on your own should you choose to use as external usb (they refer you to your usb enclosure tech support; don't even bother, unless you feel like being bounced back to your drive's tech support and on and on) This review was modfied by poster @ 11-15-14 05:10 AM

Cons:Since I must write enough here, I'll nitpick and say a 1 year warranty on something that is designed to hold important data is quite low. This isn't only for this drive however, but rather on the industry as a whole.

Comment:
If you've installed any HDD over 2TB into a computer system before, then this drive will be a breeze to swap into your system. However, if not, then be prepared for a bit of trial and error in initializing the drive.Other than that, the drive is reasonably fast for a 5700 rpm drive. On average, the sequential speed was about 95MB/s when I copied my old files onto the new one.Last but not least, this drive had the lowest price tag amongst 6TB high capacity HDDs as of today. So if you need the space, you can't really go wrong with these.
