Cons: No "off" position for fans, only a very low setting.Requires 2 usb for power and data to feed the 4 usb it provides.

Pros: Well made, stylish.Portablity.Variable speed with 4 USB Ports.
Comment:
A very good unit, notebooks do not slip off it's surface at all. Has a good angle for laptop use and provides very effective cooling. (I was getting over 15C less under heavy load on a hot running Asus.)My only complaint is that there was no "off" position. You could adjust the fan to it's lowest setting but it was never "off". If you used a desktop replacement laptop (which is why I bought this to fit my 17" Asus G2S.) the constant blow collected a large amount of dust and burned battery life.Overall, a great unit despite that.

Cons: The fans at full speed are a little loud, but expected.

Pros: High quality workmanship.Very solid.Aluminum works as a passive cooler.Huge fans offer great airflow.
Comment:
This is the first notebook cooler that I have owned. To me, it seems to be very impressive. I can't provide solid results in terms of temperature drops because the laptop I am using it with is a piece of crap anyway. It overheats like there is no tomorrow (M1730 by Dell). In any event, this thing is very nicely built and the quality is there in all areas. The fans are loud at full speed, yet, but the fan controller on the side works flawlessly and the only time you'll need to run the fans at full force is when you're gaming, at which point you should be listening to either headphones or you'll have your speakers cranked enough that the fans won't matter to you.Anyone that is considering a Notebook Cooler for a larger laptop should definitely consider this one. It looks great, feels great, and functions really well, in my opinion.

Cons: Short cables come with it. Not great for bottom intake fans on notebook.

Pros: Strong, powerful, nice looking, relatively quiet, big

So I've had this for over 6 months now and I am generally very pleased. It is nice looking, very strong, very very wide (my 17" HP notebook is on it and there is room on either side to spare). It also does a great job cooling, however it isn't the "best" for my particular laptop. My HP has a vent on the botton that sucks air in to the laptop...and the Cryo has fans that are pulling in the opposite direction. So...they fight. If I turn the Cryo up full blast (which I nevering really have need to do) it actually seem to somewhat counter the HP cool...with a zero net result in cooling. However at the lowest speed (which mine is on all the time), it does a great job. The Cryo isn't silent...it has that consumer electronics fan sound. Not a loud PC fan sound...but a low sound. Sort of like a quieter PS3...and nowhere near as loud as a Xbox 360. This of course increases in volume if you turn up the fan speed.A minor negative maybe be cord length. There are two "cords" that come with the Cryo. On is a stardard USB cable which allows for the activation of the 4 USB ports on the back of the Cryo (which I use all the time and are great). The other cable is the power cable. This is a USB cable to "power" connection (unsure of the technical term), but would likely be very similar to standard power connections on most laptops. This cord is a wee bit on the short side, and while it wasn't a problem with my laptop, it could be for some. Then again, it is nice not to have tons of extra cable hanging off...so take that for what it is worth.Other than that...great product. The only real negative I have is that the Cyro doesn't have a manual "off" button. So you need to either disconnect the power cable from your laptop or work with the OS for USB power shut down.Oh...also, my first Cryo was defective when I got it, but NCIX was great at getting me a replacement. The new one is perfectly fine (and once again the build quality is really great). My first one sounded like a fan was out of whack and hitting the casing.
