High Performance, works extremely nicely in my file server at function and my media server at residence (Both Asus Boards, P5B-Deluxe and PWD5E) Tech support sucks. It's email based and takes 24-72 hours for response, not acceptable for enterprise enviroments. Their internet site makes no mention of warranty, and support says return it by way of the vendor (but newegg only provides 30 days).1st Dilemma: My Card kept hanging on "Checking Firmware" immediately after a reboot. the problem was not sufficient juice from my power supply, 800W PSU fixed it. Support thought my challenging drive firmware was out of date...2nd Difficulty: My Array keeps degrading, and rebuilding, and degrading. Replaced tough drive, but dilemma persists. Replaced cables too. Even changed the dilemma drive to a distinct port. Trying to get an RMA to replace the card, but no support.... I cant beleive that Areca does not post warranty data or supply quickly support. These are enterprise class merchandise, but the support is terrible. They just tell me to update my drivers, update my firmware, and update the firmware for the tough drives... If performanace was the only factor, this would be a 5 star item. But given that i have to depend on these cards to keep my buyers running, support should be taken into consideration. most shoppers arent pleased to hear they need to purchase yet another 踰-500 card since it only had a 30 day warranty...
