I chose the PowerColor version not only for the cost financial savings, but I prefer their hardware style. Having dual fans and an open card design allows my effectively-ventilated case to help it stay even cooler. This card BTW, only gets up to 63 degrees Celsius under total load in my experience, which is fairly darn very good. None so far. Just want to upgrade my Core two e8400 @ 4ghz now as it's an obvious bottleneck for this card, which is still operating max comprehensive games no difficulty. Obviously, not the fastest card I could buy at the time of obtain, but following a lot of investigation, the 6950 delivers exceptional bang for your buck and it's crossfire performance makes adding yet another down the road a excellent solution.

-Runs very cool! The fan design is excellent and the cooling is what you'd count on. My card overclocked runs at 60-61c in the course of full 100% load over a period of 1 hour. Cooldown right after load is also quite rapid.-The fans are quiet. Complete load only brought the fans to about 60% speed.-Mine overclocks fairly effectively. I got the core to hit about 925mhz stable and the memory goes past 1400 (I haven't identified the max yet)Right after overclocking I got a good little performance increase of 300 marks in 3dmark11 (P5100-򘬖) -Unlikely to get the shaders to unlock as it's a 1GB model and non-reference PCB. I attempted the unlock anyway and was unsuccessful. With these 1GB non-reference models its no guarantee regardless of whether it will unlock or won't unlock. If you want additional of a guarantee get a 2GB model with a reference PCB (the typical square searching cooler with a single red fan in the middle). Though AMD has been shipping out laser cut GPUs lately so unlocking will turn out to be less likely in the future. Whilst mine didn't unlock to 6970 shader speeds and I am previously coming from a 5870 I am pleased with the outcomes. It's not amazingly faster than my 5870, about 10-25% depending on the game, I am pleased with the overclockability and cooler on the card. I previously had a PowerColor 5870 with a equivalent cooling design and was happy with that one particular too. The only cause I upgraded was simply because I got a wonderful deal reselling my 5870 and a excellent deal on buying the new 6950. If I did it more than again, I may buy the 2GB model due to the fact it wasn't that significantly a lot more pricey and has far better outcomes in unlocking the added shaders but I would still stick with the non-reference PCB simply because of the better cooling general. The unlocked shaders have shown to only get a 1-2% improve anyway over a locked card anyway.

Runs cool. Quiet. Crossfire easily. Overclocking is a challenge. Should use charts & analysis alot. Instability at overclocking. Frame rates in games have little if no improvement & at times worse when overclocking. These cards cant handle Physx & were not developed to. My gtx 260's ran Mafia 2 pretty much as very good but with Physx on.The cards do not get the frame rates in games that on the web analysis showed. They struggle to preserve frame rates above 30 in new games when action is busy. When I overclocked my Phenom X4 965 at the same time as my Radeon cards, the frame rates were a little additional in games like Metro & Mafia 2 but only by two to 3 frames. Instability although, freezes & crashes. Temperature of cpu & cards had been low, Bios updated. A lot of energy with my power provide, and so on. Batman Arkham plays genuine well. Its a fair cost for the performance. Newegg is Wonderful! So far.

Comment:
This card is very good for the price. Runs every game maxed. I doubled my FPS in Bad company 2 from my HD4870 1gb. Performance is much more than I expected. The temp are very good, and I don't event hear the card at 20%, and never go over 60C.
