Cons: Not as fast as I hoped. Negative and slide holders a bit flimsy.

Bot this to replace my good old Perfection 2450 PRO that cost 3x more. In general, the new lower-end cousin able to generate impressive result as good or better than the 2450. Digital ICE is a convenience and it helps to cut down some post-processing time. V500 had been on sale a few times for less than $150 no rebate. The key difference between the older V500 and V600 is digital ICE on scan/photo. V500 only has digital ICE on negative. |

Great all around scanner. Bought to scan some old photos. It is bulkier than my previous scanner which is strange because it uses LED so it should of been thinner. |

Cons: Size, and a little pricey, but cheaper now. Be sure you have enough room for it. I had to clear space for it since it took up more room than the one it replaced.
Pros: Epson. Software package Epson Scan plus Adobe Photo Shop. Supports Windows 7. Scans slides, negatives, photos, and printed material well. Comment:
This is basically an upgrade of the v500, I guess. It does everything the v500 does, and has the same slide, and negative holders. It has different specs though, and is not as fast, but close. Lots of info on this scanner on the Epson site.If you need a relatively cheap slide and negative scanner then this may be the one. I like it, and it does the job for me. |
Good value (scanning quality and included software). Though the slide and film holders are flimsy, they are good enough for occasional use.
