Fantastic board, USB 3. and Sata 6... can't go incorrect. Good overclock potential (though I don't have the need to have to but) None so far, haven't overclocked so I can't attest to that aspect yet but almost everything on the board operates as advertised. Utilized in a Lancool K-62 case, works good with the blue LED color scheme but the top rated mounted fan cables necessary to be extended to attain the bottom three-pin fan connectors.

Looks Good If you notice out of the three big bang boards the X is the only one left. The other individuals were taken off the market do to difficulties. I have the large bang fuzion and you can't place it to sleep and if you want to use keyboard at startup it doesent perform. Msi tryed to blame it on the hydra chip for challenges. Hey MSI place it on their board it their dilemma. I've currently sent it in to no resolve. Not worth sending in for repair, just a wast of cash simply because they can't repair, just blame somebody else. Will not purchase yet another Msi solution or sell to my clients once more!

Nice board, nice capabilities, and the small clear CMOS button on the back is fairly sweet. If you read the manual, setting it up and installing issues on it will be easy. Generating them function may possibly be a bit of a challenge, but that's a separate issue entirely. It's nevertheless a sweet board. Had to flash the BIOS to v1.4b5 just before it would function correctly. Had a number of challenges prior to that, including creepy lag with everything including my mouse. The flash seemed to resolve MOST of these concerns. Now, although, I have new ones where it refuses to boot into windows, or shut down from Linux, and won't reinstall an OS from the optical drive. All have been tested elsewhere, and are working fine. I memtested my RAM overnight with no errors on every stick. Sooooo... I named MSI to figure out what to do next, or if I necessary to RMA my board.TERRIBLE consumer help knowledge. When I lastly got a live person on the telephone, the guy was exceptionally quick with me, and didn't want to truly answer any questions. He seemed exceptionally inexperienced and wanted to e mail me a pdf of 'supported RAM' that was supposed to answer all my inquiries. The answer was usually 'I sent you the PDF.' Thanks but no thanks. Currently had the PDF from their site. If you DO get this board, and uncover your self in require of assist, go to the MSI User Forums Initial. They're infinitely additional beneficial and knowledgeable, and even rather speedy about posting in threads. They helped me through the initial bits of insanity, and somehow I wish MSI would pay those guys for the awesome that they spread. Calling the MSI help quantity, although, was an absolute waste of my time, told me nothing at all that I didn't already know, and left me definitely no closer to resolving the issues I'm obtaining.

Board looks nice and comes highly encouraged by several forum reviewers as well as purchasers on NewEgg. Nice layout and characteristics. DOA, board powered up, CPU fan runs, phase/power LEDs come on and that's it. Computer will not go into BIOS mode so there is no diagnostic and monitor does not recognize input supply and the video card is brand new also. Post error code is either E8 or 83, not certain which way to study it. Was Quite excited to place my construct collectively. HAF X case/ Intel i-7 930 processor, Corsair HX 750 Power Supply/ Corsair DDR3 Ram, but at this point it may well as properly be a lego set with some LEDs.Have repackaged board and sent to NewEgg for RMA. Numerous features, a ton of possibilities in the bios. The pros end there although... Very first of all I had to format and reinstall windows prior to it would even boot into windows (stock settings) - I was rather angry about that but had already backed up almost everything...Was operating four.two on my EVGA board w/ 12gig 2000. On this board it will barely hit 3.six steady and that was after some large voltage alterations. As soon as I did get it operating it seemed Seriously slow. So I place left4dead2 on, running a 5970 with vsync - not a CPU intensive game by any means.. Old board was hitting the 120fps limit consistently, this 1 barely got more than 60 fps and dipped under 50 continuously and just felt generally choppy. This was felt beneath stock conditions, oc genie and manual overclock while moving card from 2nd slot ྰx) to 5th slot ྰx). Hoping I just got a bad board, NewEgg was stand up about it though and is overnighting a new board. My board just shipped so I know it's type of early guys but I'm so excited I just had to say something. Pros.. every thing about this board is a pro even down to the QuantumWave THX TruStudio soundcard. And by the way the OC Genie utilizes an integrated chip to auto overclock.. not a software program overclock but an Integrated Chip to automatically establish and implement an optimal overclock for your hardware and of course you nevertheless have the selection to go into the BIOS yourself and tweak. Whatever you choose. This board is in a class by itself. Take care and bless you all.PS. No I don't work for MSI or newegg. Lol It doesn't do the dishes ! LOL ! :) Fortunately I had Google Alerts scanning the Online 24ǝ for the past month. I knew the board was going to hit soon but didn't know when specifically simply because MSI kept the release date hush hush. As quickly as the MSI Xpower went on sale at Newegg I got an email alert. I ordered the board from Newegg and went back an hour later just to see if had sold out and guess what... SOLD OUT !! If any individual wants the hottest most function rich board on the market for a cost that is a steal then order it now simply because I have a feeling it's going to go up in value Soon due to it's popularity. PS I'm an EVGA fanboy typically but this board has me drooling. :)

Lowers temperatures, OC like a champ, intuitive BIOS layout, higher excellent parts Not so flashy in appearance like ASUS, but does that genuinely matter? This a single is all power no frills motherboard. Documentation is amazing (despite some humorous Engrish at instances), and I found it far superior to ASUS Rampage III in terms of stability and temperature.

Has wonderful appears, & capabilities to take it into the future as new tech becomes available. For some, bios updates may possibly be needed, but that is not uncommon now days with such variations in component selections. The earlier reviewer was so out of line in the MSI User to User forum, his thread was locked. A RAM stick wasn't fully seated & the board worked fine soon after that.

Perfect layout, great excellent elements, and actual easy to OC. In a position to OC my i7-950 to four.2Ghz and runs at 65C and quite steady. Really like this board. All x58’s run about the identical baseline, but this is a home run for MSI, with all the PCI slots and the high quality. The OC genie is a joke. Better to leave it off if it does not function. Excellent attempt, perhaps next time. Would like additional PCI slots.

Good layout for the motherboard. USB3 and SATA3ƖGbit/s). Very good power alternatives for overclocking and the OC Genie and OC Dashboard. Don't like the PCI-E layout for three-way SLI/Crossfire, but I will most likely never ever do that so shouldn't be an challenge. Newegg is great!

Normally I'm an ASUS fanboy, but this board by itself tops what ASUS has out now. If you want a subsequent-gen board that supports legacy hardware, go with a GIGABYTE board. If you want one thing additional future-proof, go with this board. It's an overclockers' dream and it touts military-class reliability. To turn the method on for the extremely very first time I had to use the power button which is located on the board itself, I don't know why that is the case or why it is not pointed out. To boot from USB, I had to allow "LAN alternative ROM" below "Integrated Peripherals" in the BIOS, which is not otherwise documented. This board attributes two eight-pin CPU energy provide connections. Opt for a power provide accordingly. An eight-pin PCI-E connector will NOT perform. I think you require a peripheral-to-8 pin converter connection or numerous 4-pin connectors, due to the fact I don't see any other energy supplies which function more than one 8-pin 12v connector. Ram slots are also one-sided snap-in, so if you use a ram fan like the G.Skill Turbulence II, it will only have one particular side to clip on to.processor: Intel Core i7 X 980video card: Radeon HD 4850ram: G.Skill Trident DDR3 2000energy provide: Corsair 750TXcase: NZXT GAMMA Classic Series GAMA-001BKA lot more info forthcoming as I operate with it.

Supports the i7 980x out of the box, no require to place a lesser chip in to update the BIOS. Supports 24GB of RAM (I utilised G.Skill 1066 CAS7 4GB sticks) Posted on initial attempt. Unlike my Gigabyte EX-58 UD9, which didn't post, and had to RMA. I got this one rather.. I like not having that Legacy PCI port... :) The temps, are about what I had on my Gigabyte EX-58 UD5 (with a Coolermaster V8) I see persons commenting on the NB temps.. I don't have that issue.. though my CPU cooler is a Noctua NH-D14 120mm & 140mm SSO so it supports Massive coolers. :) Temps are about 32C for CPU at stock. I didn't have an problem with the soundcard due to the fact I placed a Inventive Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD in there instead.. worked like a charm. The board detected my LG WH10LS30K 10X Blu-ray Burner and SSD. Has adequate USB ports at the back. A little on the flimsy side, but that is mostly simply because I am used to Gigabyte boards. The two fan connectors at the bottom are a pain, now I will want to extenders for my two top rated fans (using a Coolermaster HAF X case) WARNING: Do NOT use the drivers on the disk! Superior but, throw it away.. I got BSODs with them. I have However to attempt the ones on MSI's site, and I rather not. Not enough SATA ports to make use of my case completely. :*(no onboard USB three. to plug the front USB three.0s in. I haven't identified a RAID controller except on the Marvell ports ƒ).

This board works wonderfully if you can survive its quirks. the quirks These with boot challenges. This motherboard has 3 SATA / Raid controllers integrated in it. The bootup sequence has documented challenges on bios version 1.2 and 1.3 when you have devices hooked to the marvel Sata III controller and the Intel IHC10R set for ACHI / Raid and a single of the devices on the Intel controller is a CD-Rom. It is an odd combination to realize the difficulty however it has occurred to me and many other people. It causes the system to either hang at the intel raid screen or just go black in the initial post course of action. Not Best but putting the CD-roms on the Marvel Controller and all my difficult disks on the intel controller has fixed my problems for now. A BIOS update really should resolve the situation in the future (Comon' MSI dont make me wrong).
