It has a excellent layout, a lot of features including some uncommon ones like constructed in bluetooth.Overclocking capable for an intel board. I've not had this point for two weeks prior to just completely dying on me. I had some quite conservative settings in the bios so I know I wasn't pushing it. I genuinely wanted to like this board. I was quite excited about developing a good gaming pc with a micro atx board. It seemed to be promising of delivering just that till the board failed to boot as a outcome of memory errors. The memory checked out to be fine following some severe strain testing in one more pc.Overall I would not get one more intel brand board for my next gaming computer. I know that intel tends to make excellent cpu's but that exact same high quality does not extend into their desktop boards. Sorry, I genuinely wanted to like this but one really serious failure so early into the make is adequate to discourage a future obtain for a gaming create.

Little form issue. Has every little thing you want on a motherboard. Doesn't support SLI :( but it's still a excellent mobo. I've built four computers utilizing this exact motherboard. It's never ever failed and usually boots up. Intel truly did a fantastic job on it.

I wanted a board that was supported with Intel's Desktop Utility which makes it possible for auto tuning (overclocking) because I have by no means accomplished any overclocking. This board operates wonderful for me. The Desktop Utility is a good utility and the documentation is really fantastic....The design is very clean and uncluttered. A small costly but worth it. I'm utilizing an i5-750 two.66 GHz cpu and Win 7 64 bit with this board and it operates excellent! I tuned the system utilizing Intel's Desktop Utility and very easily overclocked it to 3.48 GHz. It runs at 36C with the stock cooler. Intense tuning is availabe utilizing the Desktop Utility but I haven't tried it but. So I count on even greater outcomes.

Fantastic board. Fantastic for overclocking. Bluetooth constructed-in. eSATA and RAID help is excellent. Why is this board only ŭ.00 unique then DP55KG ATX board? The other board has a lot more attributes and can help a lot more cards, why is this board so close in price tag. This should be about 贶.00 to 赏.00. Will buy once again when the cost drops, great board for the high finish user.

None I have went through two of them so far and they have shown up DOA. The 1st a single wouldn't post at all and the second 1 had a faulty memory channel. The second a single worked for a whilst and then went to the land of no posts. I am not pleased with this board and what makes it worse is I can't get my money back or exchange it for yet another board of = or lesser worth.... I've spent days trying to make a program only to find the motherboards don't function. I'm seriously looking forward to scrapping my knuckles once more for this piece of feces. If You don't have alot of cash steer clear from this board due to the fact if You don't You will finish up purchasing way much more parts trying to get a working personal computer and obtaining stuck with a 200 dollar frisbie.I'm adding 1 star due to the fact Newegg does a good job.

It has a lot of good characteristics and verstility i5/i7 DOA - or Memory situation. 2nd board does not function either- same 4F error code or Second Intel CPU DOA as well.I am trying completely different memory before shipping the second a single back; nonetheless switch lights do not seem to operate either so in all probability is a terrible motherboard. A various case, energy supply, and video card created no difference. I assumed it would operate with DDR3-1600 Memory given that the description said it would. two motherboards and 2 numerous CPU's, i5-661 and i5-670 each have a no boot issue. I have ordered DDR3-1333 Memory marketed by the approved manufacturer on the tested list. If that does not perform... 2 negative ones in a row...challenging to stomach.

I don't know if there are any pros to this board as I haven't been capable to use it however. The board does not boot with an Intel i3-550 chip on it as shipped. I am waiting on replacement boards from Intel so see what will happen. I identified out from Intel that the BIOS version on the boards does not help the i3-550 processor. Their recommendation was to flash the BIOS to a newer version. That would be good except to do that, I have to have a processor that operates with this board. I tried executing the recovery with USB device, but I can't even get it to boot and show me the BIOS on the screen. I have had nothing but troubles with these boards from the time that I received them. Regrettably, Intel does not have a board with the most recent BIOS loaded on it for me to just do a swap. They are going to have to send me a processor that will perform with the board to update the BIOS on these boards. This is just about the most bassackwards way of doing this stuff. If this board needs a BIOS update ahead of you can use the processor, it ought to be noted ahead of you obtain the board.

Un-cluttered, clean layoutModest type aspectBasic heatsinks vs. whizzing fans and heat pipes.Intel Gbe -- most other p55 boards do not use the Intel Gbe. None really, conserve maybe the price tag -- this is an costly board; however, I keep my systems about for five+ years; when I am performed with it, my wife will happily inherit the process. Worth paying for the excellent, IMO. My 1st Intel MB -- and possibly not my last. Installed just fine, booted on initially attempt. Bios update was easy to apply; Intel tech help forums are rather excellent, if necessary. As other individuals have pointed out -- Gbe would only connect at 10MB; dilemma exists under Linux as well. Was quickly remedied with updated driver from Intel that built fine on opensuse 11.2 -- kudos to intel for their fantastic Linux support.I purchased this board as the foundation for a higher performance Linux workstation -- not a gaming rig. Operating opensuse 11.two x86_64 very nicely with 2.8Ghz lynfield, 4GB Gskill ripjaw mem, intel x25-m SDD and 2TB information drive. Really pleased with the outcomes, would likely purchase an intel board once again.

This board is actually cool. It focuses on a minimalist perfect in that it has shrugged of pci slots, northbridge, monitor plugs and IDE ports. Incredibly uncomplicated to install and seriously cool Bios. Has a USB port straight on motherbord. Board would has solution for crossfire and SLI even though have yet to discover low profile cards that SLI. Comes with SLI bridge. In the total atx version of this board there is a genuinely cool l.e.d. lit skull which flickers with hdd activity. Properly on this micro atx version there is no skull. I am kinda bitter at Intel mainly because of this. Could also include an Intel skull heatsink cap for southbridge, but yet once again??? Board comes with a cool intel skull sticker for the case. Then a Dolby home theater case sticker.

Specifically the MB configuration I was looking for. Pure PCIe system with gigabit ethernet, eSATA, and SPDIF outputs, and MB raid help. Back-to-bios function is truly good.Final develop has no difficulties with a Core i7 860 CPU, four two.5" SATA drives, 8GB of G.Skill RAM. Currently one of the most expensive mATX LGA1156 motherboards on newegg.Intel monitoring software package doesn't install on Windows 7 RC. A temporary problem to be sure, as I can now upgrade to the release version, but was nonetheless annoying. Ethernet would only connect at 10Mbps ahead of I downloaded the newest driver directly from intel. Also the updated BIOS is a lot nicer than what was initially installed.Would be nice if MB included a TPM chip.

None I can feel of. Non existant technical support from Intel. They do not assistance their solutions. On-line chat link does not operate and if you contact on your dime, the tech hangs up (see beneath). System: DP55SB MB, i5-750 CPU, Corsair XMS3 TW3X4G1333C9A 4GB ƒx2GB) RAM, Gigabyte GV-N94TOC-1GI graphics, Corsair VX550W PS.The method was working nicely till this Saturday ƙቮ񳏊). Then it began giving a three-beep signal on boot. Tested the method with memory from a different operating Intel 5 series MB. Same result except that now I get intermittent blank screen and a two-beep code on boot. Tested with video card from the other 5 series MB, exact same outcome. Called Intel support, tech had me disconnect every thing but the PS and CPU and boot. Got three beeps, so he said it was memory and hung up. Only dilemma is that the memory and graphics card from this MB each function in the other Intel 5 series MB.

Small Form Factor, DOES work with Core i3 processors. I bought one particular with a Core i3-550 and it performs. All you have to do to get the Core i3's to operate is pull the recovery jumper on the MB and update the BIOS employing the RECOVERY system. Even although nothing at all is being displayed on the screen, the HDD light will blink at .5 secs on and off to tell you that the computer is updating the BIOS. Give it time, and after the second reboot it worked for me and the bios was updated! Massive discomfort in the rear even though... Had I had enough money for a core i5 it would have been a tiny simpler due to the bios update, but overall a wonderful, trustworthy as constantly Intel MB

Leave legacy behind. No PSǘ, no serial, no parallel, no EIDE, no floppy, no PCI.A full powered board in a smaller mATX form element.Supports eight pin ATX 12V plug for additional reliable energy beneath load.Has bluetooth module built in (no will need for dongle). High-priced. Not certain why this board is 赧 except maybe limited supply. Would be much better worth at 贡-贵. Functions fine with Intel i7, 4GB RAM, SSD boot & 1TB information drives all in microATX (cube) desktop case.

I like the new intel boards as they appear to be catering to the enthusiast's. This board is cool due to the fact it provides an LGA1156 in a crossfire/sli package. A bit pricey but worth it for the asthetics. Wish there was a monitor connection in the i/o panel. At time of obtain they ran out of intel lynnfield gift packs, please get some much more!!!!!! I genuinely wish that this board came with a lighted skull like the complete atx version or at least the skull cap for the heatsink. Comes with two cool stickers, 1st a skull sticker for you case about 4x6 inches then a dolby audio sticker.

Right after spending many hours on hold and on the telephone with Intel tech assistance, it was determined the boards (both of them) were defective - go figure!!! Intel replaced the very first board with a refurb that had the correct BIOS version on it and almost everything is working fine now. Just got the second board in, with the appropriate BIOS, so no update for me, and so far it appears to work ok. The aggravating component to the whole deal is that you have no way of being aware of what version the BIOS is till you get the board and open it. I attempted updating the BIOS with Intel on the phone and had no luck on either board. That is why they sent me new boards - at an added expense to me - shipping. I now have two boards that operate properly with i3-550 processors and every thing is finally operating like it should - 6 weeks later. No way to ascertain BIOS version until you get the board and get it hooked up and see what it shows you. I tried BIOS recovery mode to update the BIOS ahead of I named Intel - no luck. Even soon after getting Intel service on the telephone, nonetheless no luck acquiring the boards to function. So far, no complaints as to how the board really works. Overall, this has not been a superior experience for me shopping with Newegg. Having to deal with Intel was bad sufficient, but for Newegg to not even give to swap the boards just before I spent 6 weeks operating with Intel to get the issue straightened out, only to get refurbished boards from Intel when I bought and paid for new boards is a joke. I will be really restricted in my shopping with Newegg in the future - limited as in almost certainly by no means shop right here once more.

Every little thing you'd want in a socket 1366 board. Just about the equivalent of the DP55KG M/B. Really quick with an I5-760 cpu and 4GB DDR3 ƒx2). None. Worked perfectly out of the box. 4 stars simply because of matters mentioned in "Other thoughts" below. Minor problemsɅ) Did a BIOS update and technique would not run. Given the option to revert back to previous settings and took it, then no issue.two) Following a week long shutdown, incredibly slow efficiency, difficult drive light on excessively. Reloaded Intel RAID drivers. No troubles due to the fact.three) Re-did BIOS update. No troubles. This technique is a 24ǝ video recorder/server. It has been rebooted various occasions for the duration of s/w installs. Shut down for a week at the longest. Concern is that there may be a difficulty with BIOS programming retention. Just a possible worry due to past matters, not conclusive however. Time will tell. I will update if difficulties happen again.

It's wonderful to see a motherboard with no notable flaws. The bios is well created, the manual is nicely written, and the functions are *exactly* what I wanted. - sli/crossfire support - no pci/floppy/ps2/ide/serial/parallel/legacy ports - included bluetooth antenna - speedy boot even with ahci enabled - intel gigabit nic - nice onboard audio - good motherboard layout - no gimmicky features Absolutely nothing worth noting. The ram slots and pci-e x16 slot are a little cramped, but this is a non-problem taking into consideration it's a micro atx board with sli/crossfire support -- just make confident the ram clips are closed ahead of installing your video card and you wont have any problems. esata makes use of its own sata controller (Marvell Technology Group Ltd. 88SE6121 SATA II Controller). Firewire utilizes a TI chip (Texas Instruments TSB43AB22/A IEEE-1394a-2000 Controller). All of the other chips on this board are Intel.I quickly flashed to the newest bios (feb 2010) before installing any operating systems or tweaking settings. I can't comment on whether or not the NIC had concerns with earlier bios revisions. On a side note, updating the bios was particularly painless and Intel gives a selection of selections, which includes bootable usb and iso pictures. This board works excellent with my i5-750 and gskill F3-10666CL7D-4GBECO ram working with the XMP profile. The ram works at advertised speeds Ɨ-7-7-21-2N) and 1.35v.I'm running a mix of Fedora, OpenSolaris and Windows 7 Qualified and haven't had a single challenge utilizing this motherboard with any of them.

UEFI supports booting from HDDɮTB (although broken) PCI-e x16 stuck at x8 mode when no other cards inserted in the x8 slot. Verified in BIOS and GPU-Z. Screen will go blank for no cause, often with blue screen and from time to time with "display drivers recovered" error. Card is GeForce GTS 450, 260.99 driver. All components can be installed in an additional 5 series board with no any dilemma.

Optical S/PDIF In and Out. That's why I got this MB for my HTPC. It ran for about 6 months of limited use, then failed. Began today with memory errors. Changed to known great RAM (same spec), now have video error. Changed to a recognized very good video card, identical issue. This is the second Intel MB to go TU on me in the final year. I got it only because of the Optical S/PDIF In and Out.

Super EZ Bios Flash really excellent high quality onboard bluetooth E-sata Not a single dilemma with this board Only challenge is I bought the Intel DP55wb from Newegg three days prior to I located this 1 on another site for a lot less. and the DP55WB is supposed to be a excellent Hackintosh board. But this one have a LOT a lot more capabilities on it and is FAR FAR far more OSX friendly. NOT 1 KEXT PANIC given that I installed SN OSX function flawless on this Board and here the good component. Im utilizing a Intel Xeon Quad X3440 two.53GHZ with Hyper Threading and OSX picked up all 8 cores and the cpu cost only 239 bucks on Newegg. I install SL on three other brand mobo and by far this board works the greatest, I even tried to cause a kext panic and it still booted SL 10.7.6 just about every time. To keep cool in my Micro ATX case I use the Corsair all in 1 water cooling. with and low cost Sparkel fanless 9600GT video card. Waiting on my Fanless GTS 460 to get here to install it.

I had no issues installing, excellent onboard audio and rear connectors, plenty of usb and sata ports, bluetooth, 1394, very good bios characteristics Rear fan and hd audio connectors are among card slots, bluetooth antenna connector is extremely small and on a half attached mini daughter board. Can't set the ramp-up values for automatic fan control. Couldn't discover a complete IR receiver/transmitter kit for the onboard IR. Intel has good documentation and uncomplicated to download up to date drivers, so my install went with no complications (my first time full develop). But the bluetooth antenna connection was a pain, it was too modest for my fat fingers to plug in, so I utilized a pair of needle nose pliers as tweezers to connect it. I am using this board in my principal/media server htpc with an I5-750 processor, 8 gigs ram, 6 drives. It works properly, idling down and ramping up as required, sleeps with no issues (after settings in bios). I like this board.
