I didn't buy this from NCIX; it was from the Tigerdirect.ca store near First Markham Place for about $270 with taxes. With shipping charges it wouldn't have made sense anyway. My previous home's apartment building tended to do a power cycle everyday in the early morning. It lasts about 3 seconds; that is long enough for my desktop to lose power. This UPS made the power cycling a non-issue. I can pull the main UPS plug off the wall and the desktop doesn't blink at all.I get about 25 minutes of battery runtime with a 42" 1080p TV, desktop, router, cable modem and cable box attached. Turning the desktop and TV off during a power outage, and I'd get an hour or more of internet access via a netbook. One neat feature of this model is an expansion port that lets you connect a compatible auxiliary pack and *theoretically* double the battery runtime of the base unit. The gist of all this is that it's one of the very best investments you can make for any system setup.
