This CPU tests superior in benchmark testing than most quad core processors and superior than many AMD processors, which includes eight core. Mine is running on a DG43DT MB, with 8GB of DDR2 1066 and a NVIDIA GT240 1GB video card. I am running UBUNTU LINUX. No Cons. I highly advocate, and as alway Newegg is unbeatable.

Runs cool inside of a Windows Home Server machine. Has handled the each day tasks of backups and runs Orb excellent. I haven't had the initial hiccup watching reside Television on my iPhone using the Orb app. I was kinda worried at 1st if it had the power for encoding but it hasn't let me down. I like to mess around with Virtualbox so I chose the 6500 over the 5300 due to Hardware Virtualization help. I don't know if it makes a difference but all the VM's run smooth. None.

replaced my aging socket A barton 2500+, so how can it evaluate?absolutely handles multi-tasking much better compared with my old cpu. none, but i wish the Q9650's have been significantly less high priced. purchased two of these, one particular is in an Asrock dual Sata board (using to write this) and the second is but to be installed in an ECS G31T-M7 as soon as my corsair PSU gets here. will be exciting to evaluate the two setups.

I replaced my intel E1500 with the E6500 and wow what a distinction. Its rapidly uncomplicated to install wonderful efficiency for the price tag. I would acquire a different in a heartbeat. none I had to go into the bios and set the fsb and raise the processsor speed to two.9Ghz not sure why but anything is operating fine now. Just something you may wanna verify out after installing 1 of these

Easy install, uncomplicated to set up for O.C. Cpu fan that came with it doesnt give me any challenges, but the screws that hold it to mother board look loose, and not very strong. Excellent processor for the price tag don't be concerned about the dual core slowing you down :P

Bought a HP EX490 windows home server just before Christmas and the incorporated processor just wasn't carrying out it for me. (Celeron 450). This CPU is a drop in replacement and is giving the functionality and responsiveness that I necessary None If your BIOS and/or motherboard support it, this is a no brainer

It's an Intel.Cheap.Runs quite cool.Easy overclocking. No BIOS settings to unlock it to a six-core i7? Built an beneath 躔 gamer with this at the heart.Added an economical Rosewill Z5 Ultra CPU cooler, upped FSB from stock 1066 鵊) to 1333 鶍) in BIOS - no other adjustments necessary! Now runs 34c idle 55c complete load (Prime95) at 3.67GHz! Passes every stress/benchmark test I've put it through with no complaint. Take that, AMD!

Large speed increase from older 1.86 GHz processor, extremely low-cost.Supported by HP microcode update 1.06.Practically nothing to do with processor but kudos to newegg for replacinglost package so speedily. dc5700 originally refused to boot without having intervention (pressing F1) as it was operating 1.01 microcode which does not recognize this processor. I upgraded the microcode (which requires preparing a USB flash drive boot atmosphere) and it all worked fine.

has better memory bandwith than the e5xxx 800mhz FSB series. the e5300 only allowed access to 667 or 800mhz speeds to my ddr2 which was capable of 1066 as effectively. the e6500 with the 1066mhz FSB permitted me to access 667, 800 AND 1066. how cool is that? It's what I was banking on when I purchased this CPU and there you go, my suspicions had been correct! r u kidding? I got this for 69.99 free shipping! with the cheapo cooling device!!! Seriously, we all know there's a greater option to CPU cooling than the a single Intel provides. I'm working with the cooler that came with my c2q for a 1.6ghz pentium dual-cool, that's how small faith I have in their coolers undertaking the job. For me, the Dynatron k987 with a smaller quantity of thermal compound (I like Spectracool) has offered ample coolling for my e5300 running at three.13ghz, my e6500 running at 3.42ghz, and my q9505 running at three.42ghz - all below 100% strain for 12+ hours. Perhaps I ought to start a forum?

It was time for a new CPU and this was a excellent upgrade from Pentium 4 to this. I would absolutely propose the E6500 to anyone. It's good. And it was retail so the CPU came with a fan with pre-applied paste to maintain the CPU running extra cool. It under no circumstances overheats. It runs extremely steady. The fan often gets loud, but I'm not certain if thats the CPU stock fan or the case fan.

Expense, ease of use, makes use of LGA775, which makes for a wide range of inexpensive motherboards still offered for it. Extremely capable when matched up with sufficient RAM, quick difficult drive(s), and Windows 7 64 bit. None. To those listing difficulties with the stock coolers, please understand that if you just press the clips down from the top, you are placing a lot of strain on the motherboard, and it truly flexes down rather a bit. I've by no means had a difficulty seating a stock cooler when I've correctly supported the motherboard. Noisy fans have in no way been an concern for me making use of current stock LGA775 coolers. I've constructed numerous economy priced computers working with the E6300 and E6500, and I'd have to say the systems scream along at higher speeds with Windows 7 64 bit. I've even gone against my gut feeling and set up new systems utilizing only 2GB of RAM, and Windows 7 runs like a champ with this processor. I've been matching up components that I would by no means have trusted to run Vista nicely, and they function wonderful. Please take into account every part you are using before giving a negative assessment on an individual product.

Good price. With Win 7 64 bit it was truly quirky, would get BSOD (blue screen of death) errors. Needs to warm up before u try to use it heavily. Put in a Core 2, and i was good to go. No more errors. Just get the much more costly core two. OC'd ok.

This issue is lightening rapid. Functions well with Windows 7 and has the ability to run Windows XP pro mode, which is great if you have a lot of applications that need 32 bit processing and will not function with 64-bit Windows 7. Runs a lot coller than older model cpus. Replaced a pentium E2200 and was amazed with this new CPU's speed. None that I can think of.

This is a great processor for either a workstation laptop or for somebody who wants to be capable to surf watch motion pictures. You wont get sufficient power to smoothly use newer applications or games. I have been working with my q8300 processor for years I enjoy this processor for what I do. Windows Practical experience ranks that processor at a 7.two out of 7.7 and not too long ago when I constructed a six core amd make it only ranked a 7.4. This processor with E6500 only will give a windows encounter of a 5.4 which is considerably decrease than I was expecting I thought at least the six variety. CPU fan looks nice but temp was a little greater than I want it was in the 40-45 variety while idle right after startup. The processor heats up a small rapidly to below a heavy load with stock fan will go in the 75-85 range. I could have to purchase a better fan down the road for now operating out. I love creating intel and Nvidia with each other no driver troubles. You pay a tiny far more but you don't have to hold obtaining drivers and it just operates right out of the box. AMD builds tend to be a lot of added perform right after the construct to get every little thing stable.

Functions for what I required it for. I got this to replace an e7200 Chip in a Dell Optiplex 330 mainly because two devices do not but have driver support for Windows 7. I snapped this chip in, enabled Virtualization in BIOS and I was able to install Windows XP mode and run a virtual XP machine in about 10 minutes. Now the user can use her XP-only devices (USB) completely!! None

I'm glad I went with this one particular! Running Win7 64-bit with all the bells and whistles of the aero interface enabled...flawless!! None.

Good CPU! Runs stable, cooler then the AMD X2 it replaced. Heat sink and fan are decent. General incredibly satisfied with this chip. NO so far. Installed this CPU in to a new 750i motherboard. Worked right out of the box and seem to be a small quicker then my older Athlon X2 5600+ . Runs about five degrees cooler too.
