Great CPU. I'm typically an AMD guy, but I purchased this chip to place in my wife's hackintosh. Runs nicely, steady, and powerful sufficient for her to run Final Reduce Pro. Lost a single egg for heat problems.Runs hot. Stock cooler isn't very fantastic. I would propose working with a different cooler or at least apply your personal thermal paste. Got the temps down, but still runs a little hotter than I would like to have it.Doesn't have hyper-threading, but that's not essential for what she's using it for. Wonderful bang for your buck. Advisable |

I was excited to get this chip to see what I could obtain out of a correct OC chip. I was amazed! Out of the box on the first day I got this child stable @ four.two with a slightly higher voltage, I have no want for that speed, so I backed down to 3.8ghz which runs at just a tick above stock voltage and a minute temperature boost. General spending budget Chip that can handle some punishment! None, i5 based that is :) |

Quite quickly for the cost. Got it up to 3.8 appropriate out of the box and nonetheless stays cool with stock heatsink/fan which was also very simple to install. Upgraded from an overclocked E7200 and this cpu completely smokes it. None Debated on waiting for the i5 2500k to be re-launched but I'm completely content with my selection. My opinion is if you maintain waiting for new technology you'll invest all your time waiting and in no way acquiring anything. |

Rapid, quad core, runs cool, I have often loved Intel Cost is nevertheless high compared to compatition I replaced a Denab black edition three. ghz for this... it runs cooler and there is not a lot difference in speed, truly I dont notice any at all... the cost is greater and that has kept me from acquiring other intel solutions in the previous... my subsequent construct will probably be the "other guys" because I got the intel bug out of my method. |

Excellent CPU. Quickly and stable. It might be an challenge with my motherboard, but I had to apply an XMP profile to run my RAM at 1600 mhz. As a outcome, the CPU multiplier changed and ran at 2.88GHz. TurboBoost wouldn't operate with those settings, so I just overclocked it to run at 3.2GHz all the time. With the stock fan, my machine idles at 46C. Contact of Duty Black Ops gets it up about 75C. Prime95 torture test got it up to 95C immediately after a couple of minutes, and I stopped it simply because the CPU isn't supposed to go above one hundred C. I'm confident it would run a lot cooler with an aftermarket heatsink and fan, but I've heard that these new CPUs have no difficulty operating hot. Intel good quality. What else requirements to be stated? Not an i7, but meh.... This is a great CPU; a true quad core and all. You put this thing with a decent MB, good RAM and a good video card and you will have a true beast of a Computer. If your not more than-clocking the stock cooler really should be great adequate. Mine idles about 34 degrees Celsius on all 4 cores. Under load is only about 45-48, which is exceptional. Don't pass this up guys. |

Accurate quad-core (Lynnfield) chip for a dual-core value. Extremely effortlessly overclocks and, with a so-so cooler (Contac 25) and an additional fan, mine runs quite cool at four.1ghz. degrees peak in 12 hours of P95.) As such, benchmarks on par with some socket 1366 I7's. And for 1Ǚ the cost. How can you beat that? Gaming horsepower galore. Gee - colour, possibly? Yeah...can we get it in pink? Now that the socket 1155 chips are out, perhaps all the first gens will drop in price. That might prompt me to upgrade to the 870 and get multi-threading |

Price was good does not seem to take effectively to my overclock for some purpose just wont grab and hold this is a good cpu for the expense wish it had a tiny more juice to it the overclock doesnt look to like this cpu in my system ill have to deal with stock settings till i can grab an i 7 |

SOOOO pleased with this solution!oc'ed to 3.8ghz at 1.25vcore, 1.149vtt, 1.1v pch, and 1.85 pcc.all beneath intels suggested voltages. thats a 35% performance increase fer totally free, all at stock voltages which is a big plus. make positive to purchase an aftermarket cpu cooling program. stock fan and thermal paste are garbage. |

Paired this processor with a SSD and Windows XP. The result? A rocket ship. Ended up with an ecstatic client, basically floored by the price tag and performance. No hyper-threading. Nevertheless comes with a push-pin heatsink. Unable to use onboard graphics with this processor. If you don't strategy on utilizing SLI/Crossfire, the 1156 Socket platform is a lot more than adequate for high overall performance computing. Save the money and overlook about the i7! |

There's not a lot to create home about. I would have favor the AMD Hexa-core cpu. But the there's not a decent ITX board for the AM3 socket. So I went the Core i5 unit. The fan is so !@#$%^& noisy. I have a fan in the psu, two fans in the case for which I couldn't hear any of them. But this stock cpu fan is the most useless piece of junk there is! In my household office space, this is the only point I hear. So annoying and so loud. I am getting a separate cpu fan/heat sink. I will stay away from intel cpu in the future, my AMD stock cpus has by no means had this kind of challenge just before. It is a genuine shame. |
