IT reduce the time for my Kaspersky Anti Virus Scan which I have on the most stringent settings to scan 300GB of information, docs, video, music, etc. from 3 hours to 50minutes. It was three hours with the i930. With an SSD for bootup, excellent mixture. Will often be way quicker than a sandybridge no matter what. I bought mine on erbay for 躨 like shipping. I could not believe that it cut time for something and every thing in half or far better from i7930 when it only has 2 far more cores and I only have it 400mhz faster speed. It is simpler to overclock at a reduced voltage than i7 930 so it idles at similar temp at 4.4ghz as i7930 did at 4.0ghz. price me twice what the i7 930 did, and I got it at a steep discount on erbay. It is not worth 逤 to me. For the 躨 I paid ok. not so undesirable. nevertheless a lot of funds, but nearly 50% off. I had an i7 930 at four.0GHZ highest steady. THe highest I could get this steady was four.4ghz. I only have a 500watt earthwatt PSU, perhaps why. But I am fine with that.ITs on air. Temps are 35C idle up to 50C max below heavy heavy load. ARCTIC COOLING Freezer rev. II.Dont waste more dollars for unlocked multiplier, 99% of people wont get it past the four.4ghz at 23x multiplier. Even so, at 25x mult and 200BLCK theoretically it can do five.0ghz, and then you need water.Recommend no a lot more than 1.32 vcore, 23mult, 200blck, ram at 2000mhz, make certain the ram is for your exact motherboard. ANd and SSD to boot. 1.60 to 1.65 volt for ram, and 1.6 QPI. I'm not a overclocker so i can"t speak about something like that. However this processor paired with a Asus Sabertooth X58, 24 gigs of Corsair Dominater DDR3 3 channel 1600 RAM, An EVGA GTX 470 Graphics card, and a Vital 128 SATA III 6gbs SSD everything happens instantly. I am guarding my processor with a Cooler Master Hyper 212 plus CPU cooler. When I constructed this method last week I connected every little thing up, began up the pc, wam bam thank you mam up comes the BIOS i configured the booth order, inserted the Win 7 Pro install CD and off to the races. No compatibility issues whatsoever. No glitches, no absolutely nothing but a excellent operating machine. none at all. however This processor comes with a genuinely nice intel heat sync and fan but i bought the Cooler Master Hyper 212 anyway.

This CPU doesn't break a sweat even when I'm operating several VM's in a group and the VM's do truly effectively. My Windows 7 64bit I gave it 2 cores I can even game with it with some respectable performance. Operating Win 7 as a guest VM it even scored 5.9 performance, not poor and again this CPU doesn't even break a sweat.

Ultra quickly speed and efficiency. This is virtually prime of the line. I can't bog it down, it doesn't know the which means of slow. You can't beat six cores ྫྷ with hyper thread). Cost is largest con. This is not for the typical rebuilder. I assume it is more than priced but if you've got the $$ go for it. Good functionality and super rapidly speed. I have run various games by way of it with no slow down. Surely pleased other than pricey.

Didn't have to commit the $$$ on an extreme core 980x chip. The i-7 970 is only .1 Ghz slower on it's base core clock than the 980x. None Just how fast is a blink of an eye anyway these days..

nice solution for the cheaper price tag. even devoid of the unlocked multi it'll easily clock more than 4 ghz. mine is 4.4 on the stock air cooler and just over 4.7 with the water block. all steady. Unless you are trying for five ghz don't bother paying the extra for the unlocked multi. My applicatin is strictly gaming and my 3d mark is more than 6k could be alot less costly. The amd six core won't clock as high but it's also 200$ and still acheivs four.0ghz

With stock heatsink and thermal paste (and a pretty shoddy application) this idles at 25C-30C in a 23C room.Heatsink appears decent, is effective, and lights up with a blue led.Converted a 700MB xvid video file to .mp4 beneath 15 minutes.Great upgrade from my old Q6600.Along with 12GB (up from 4) of corsair mem my frames in games have gotten 20 frames much better at least in all my games.Pins are screw in.Heatsink fan has quiet and performance switch on the top rated, incredibly easily accessible, utilizing performance mode lowers temp ӱC. You need a fairly extended screw driver to reach the screw in pins considering that two can only be reached simply by means of the heatsink. Not a genuine con although.Blue led on fan could bother some men and women.Built in memory controller forced me to get 3 sticks :( The overall performance is worth the dollars.I would have gotten the 980x but I only had a unique deal for the 970, I would assume if you have the monetary firepower to get this processor most would just go for the 980x and drop the extra money. The temps you get with the stock heatsink and fan are very good sufficient to not drop additional cash on an a distinct heatsink and fan. Even so, a tube of artic silver is a lot better than the paste they give you in the box.employing a dx58so intel mobo

Haven't even bothered to OC this thing however, and I noticed when utilizing my 3D application, my render times went from about 1.5H/frame to approximately 16M/frame (was making use of a 2.8Ghz dual core, but nevertheless). This point Does anything that I need it to do to run my workstation effectively. The heatsink that comes with it is genuinely nice top quality; normally the stock ones kinda lack in the heat dissipation division... $$

This processor appears bulletproof. I'm working with it on an Intel BOXDX58SO2. The pair made for the cleanest construct I've ever carried out. It's a little pricey, but then it's top edge. Nonetheless 5 eggs, I got my cash worth. The stock cooler in fact performs quite well. It's light weight and extremely quiet. It will let the processor get up into the higher 60's with all 6 cores doing 100%. That's warmer then I like, but if you're not planning to OC really a lot it will perform.

Fast, no require to overclock for most multi-threaded apps, very easily overclocks (cooling answer permitting) incorporated heatsink is a beast to install, the screws on it need to be a small longer or you might overtighten it accidentally.a little pricey compared to some of the quad core i7 chips in relation to speed vs value if absolutely nothing sticks to teflon what tends to make teflon stick to the pan?but seriously, if your hunting for the finest bang for your buck (if you have some further bucks) id reccomend this chip.

Quickly and I won't have to upgrade for rather sometime getting a six core with 12 threads. Price tag. Way far more pricey then this thing should be. And way greater than they had stated prior to the roll out which was 699 range. I had the setup ready waiting for this chip to be release so I went although with it. At 899.00 I genuinely ought to have spent the extra 100 bucks and whent with the Intense version. Only providing four stars since fo this

This cpu is a quite good overclocker. I got 4.4Ghz with HT and with fantastic temps under load. I ran it under prime95 for 1hr without errors. The cost to overall performance ratio is on point with this 1. Oh and it has a 25x multiplier. None, with the value coming down to what it is now and its effortless overclocking possible i feel that you get what you paid for. With this processor and the correct tweaks FSX is lastly mastered. I have a ton of addons for this game and they all run with really smooth framerates. FSX for a extended time has been plagued with bad performace but this processor has now place an finish to that. If your a fellow flight simmer this is correct decision

This processor is absolutely wonderful. I also bought mine through the Intel Retail Edge system (起.00, heck yes!) and it roars. Games are lightning fast, and converting audio to high-high quality mp3 requires just seconds. The heatsink/thermal paste that comes with it is truly nice as well! Keeps temperatures down and it's quiet, however I assume I'm switching to the Corsair H50 anyway simply because I've study nothing at all but shining items about it. If you're into gaming, 3D modeling, or something that needs processor intensive function this is the processor for you. Nothing at all so far. Involves Hyper-Threading Technologies so a attainable 12 threads total, as well as Turbo Increase Technologies to provide additional energy when you are utilizing applications that can't take advantage of all the threads. Wonderful stuff by Intel, I don't know how AMD could ever take the number one spot (as far as performance, from Intel.

THE Cost IS DOWN! Great..properly sort of..New tech will be unleashed quickly sooooo..till then, this is the finest price tag vs overall performance(see other thoughts).Overclocked to three.8gHz and running stable 24 hours-4-5 days a week. Stock cooler is OK but as I have said about all Intel coolers-get a much better 1(ฮ Cooler Master Hyper Plus 212).This is off subject for this item but it would be nice to see the 975 come down.Appears like Intel will not budge on that item.At least the 980 came down โ.Its funny because 6 months from now, hardly any person will be talking about these chips...that's why computer components are a double edge sword..something superior generally comes out. I have carried out numerous builds for myself and for buddies and shoppers and I justify my claim as "best value vs functionality" solely on the reality that this chip now fees 軷.I have built 6 core AMD builds(which by the way if you are gaming only I recommend this chip) AMD 4 core,Intel four cores and so forth....... but this chip is entirely worth the price tag if you are undertaking additional than gaming.

Just put this in my newly upgraded comp! Runs very rapidly, and cool with the stock cooler. Extremely pleased with obtain!! IF you do have the money to spend full price, just go with the 980x. I got this via the intel retail edge program at a large discount. These new 6 core CPUs from intel run Extremely fast and the only way to take full benefit of them is to have a SSD.

It looks like the 32 nm processor fabrication procedure operates, since I haven't had a hiccup yet. I'm glad that I went with the 970 as an alternative of 980X, because personally I don't genuinely miss the 1Ǘ,000,000 distinction in speed. I'm operating Windows 7 64 bit, and almost everything is moving right along. None Be cautious when installing on motherboard, due to the fact it is mentioned that you can bend a pin on the motherboard socket very easily. Line up top rated or bottom edge, and the indentations on the side although the chip is nevertheless at an angle, then gently drop it. If you goof, lift out and redo - don't attempt to force something or you could bend a pin in the socket.Following chip is locked down onto the motherboard, rather of spreading Arctic Silver goop evenly on the chip surface to accept the heat sink, squirt a dab about the size of a pea onto the center of the chip. This is the assistance of Intel, not me. Intel integrated a heat sink that had screws that were almost unusable, but if you use a thin flat blade screwdriver rather of a Phillips, you can cinch it down. Seriously stupid design, but it does the job. Intel involves some heat sink compound, but you ought to spring for the Arctic Silver compound, it just appears to be better quality.
