I went to extreme and upgraded everything from ground up. I like my pc games. Well im not disappointed. I'm playing Skyrim, AC4 Blackflag, and other games to max settings. Heat doesn't go beyond 40. Im not even overclocked yet. Cons: Price

Pros: CPU SpeedHeating not an issue
Comment:
I brought this for my gaming computer. Haven't tried to OC it yet since I haven't had the time with work and the fact that nothing I run even makes the usage go past 50%... I mainly play Dota 2 and even running two of them via sandbox only makes it use 20% usage and doesn't pass 38C with a noctua air cooler. Its still pretty pricey, although with the next highest cpu costing almost 80% more its a great buy since 6 cores will last you a long time.

I have to of these chips in 2 separate units, very good chip great performance in games, my fps are through the roof with my oc' 780, if you can afford this buy it, you wont have to upgrade for a while, I don't see any chip being better than this for a while

Cons: Pricey

Pros: FAST!Easily overclocked
Comment:
I've only had this processor for a short time but it has been awesome thus far. I currently have it overclocked on a ASUS R4E to the tune of 4.6GHz and it hasn't even broken a sweat.I'm running 21° at just above idle with an H100i cooler...I can just imagine how cool it could be with a custom cooling solution. My 3D CG application is lightning fast, as is Photoshop. In fact, all my benchmarks are phenomenal and greatly exceed my expectations.I'm loving this processor! ...now if only my pocketbook weren't so empty.

Cons: A lot of money per core.

Pros: OC'ers dream CPU! At stock speeds .9-1.1v, 40 lanes of PCIE3.0.
Comment:
6 cores are fine, especially considering very few programs even fully utilize 4 cores. Upgraded from a 3820, certain programs are faster, but mostly nothing has changed. IB is supposed to be easier to OC than SB, which is totally true. I have a custom water loop, 2x360mm rads and 2x24mm rads, dual pump setup to 3xHD7970's, MB and CPU, OC'ed to 4.4ghz, 25degrees Celsius ambient, it gets 26,29,29,27 with a water temp of 26 at an idle. After a couple hours of prime95 max's out at 55,60,54,54. Water temps don't really change any. If you do decide to OC her a little more, go right ahead! stock 3.9ghz/1.0v 4.4ghz/1.25v 4.6ghz/1.4v 4.8ghz/1.55v. All listed voltages and overclocks are my ASUS RIVE "level up" default voltages, I was honestly surprised to see it that high. Especially when from my understanding about 1.4v is the most one would want to put into an IB-E, at anything lower than 4.5ghz it uses a lot less power than my 3820, but at anything over that its uses about the same, but considering its got half again the cores, that's pretty darn impressive in my books. Breathed new life into my aging X79 platform, works great with my 3way CFX HD7970s, but honestly if I only had 1 or 2 GPU's, I probably would have gone with a 4770K, but then again there are only a handful of apps that shine on that platform. No matter, considering most reviews on the internet say this CPU hits a brick wall at 4.5ghz, well I say if my MB BIOS can automatically get 4.9ghz on a "watercooled gamers overclock", I'm sure this thing is truly a 5ghz CPU! Or maybe I justgot a golden chip! Thanks NCIX! :D
