Cons: -not much of an upgrade compared to ivy bridge-runs hot as hell-many chips dont overclock much (ie 4.1ghz) generally wouldnt waste my time if it were of that odds

Pros: -runs fine-mine overclocks to 4.5ghz so i guess i am lucky
Comment:
Its a okay CPU. its not much of an upgrade but if you are coming from gulftown there is a rather large performance gain

Cons: Comes with a lousy heatsink and cheap thermal paste

Pros: Its intel, thats simply that.

Got it for $309 on boxing week sales proving to definitely be the better processor for the price. A very solid choice for gaming and for many other tasks.

Cons: Not very good at overclocking.

Pros: Very fast even without overclocking.
Comment:
Coming from a 2006 AMD quad core processor, this makes everything much faster - especially with a SSD and a bunch of system memory. I use it mainly for development purposes, including heavy compilation which takes a long time. Sometimes, even multiple compilations at once - that's where hyper-threading comes handy. Also comes in handy for virtualization.I have tried for a whole week to get a stable overclock past 4.2GHz, and it just doesn't cut out, that's my only complaint on this processor, but it was also a main factor in buying it in the first place...

Cons: not perhaps the best overclcocker on air

Pros: performs well stock
Comment:
I tried to push it initially, the chip I got did not respond well, which is fine, I prefer quietness so I left it at 4.0 and it's perfectly stable and happy there and I'm able to leave my CPU fan and my 1 case fan both at extremely low RPM with no heat issues.

Cons: really hot to OC

Pros: nice low power consumption, runs cool at stock clock and idling
Comment:
As numerous other reviewers have stated: you get a little less OC potential than a 3770k. Power consumption and performance are the name of the game. Don't buy this chip if you simply want high clock speeds. I've gotten mine up to 4.3ghz r ~73*C under extreme stress tests, which seems to be a middle-of-the-road overclock. If you wanna OC high, get yourself a nice aftermarket cooler and away you go.

Cons: - Regular price here is a real joke, 390$ lol. The regular where I work at CC is 355$ and I still consider that overpriced. I paid mine on Black Friday 305$ only.- Stock heatsink of course lol. I'd rather have none and save another 5$.

Pros: - Hyperthreading. Honestly the only reason to get the i7 instead of the i5. Games now finaly start making use of this technology such as Battlefield 4 which use up to 8 cores so there will be much less strain on the cpu if you have this instead of the i5.- Fastest CPU around, overclock to 4.2Ghz by pushing 1 button and could prolly get manually to 4.5Ghz on air if I'd spend the time.- Lower power consumption than Ivy Bridge and Sandy Bridge.
Comment:
I upgraded from an (i5 2500K t 4.5Ghz) to this (i7 4770K t 4.2Ghz) and so far it's really good! At the ridiculously low price of 305$ I've got, selling my previous for 200$ will make the upgrade only about 110$ so totally worth it.

Cons: Expensive. At around 80 - 100 dollars over the i5, you are paying a premium for the extra hpyerthreading and speed.

Pros: Very fast processor for most of my daily computing needs. I do not do any video editing or things of that sort so I didnt need more cores.
Comment:
Its a fast chip for sure, but also expensive. I got a Noctua D14 heatsink/fan and the cpu runs around 26 degs idle and 55 degs under load. So its been relatively cool for temps. As mentioned in the pros and cons, it is a fast chip at a premium price!

Pros: Very fast, very efficient, C6 state

It is a wickedly fast processor that can handle anything you can toss in its direction. Highly recommended if you do a lot of multithreaded computing. Gamers should probably look toward a 4670 model to save some money though.

Pros: - fast- intel reliability- hyper-threading- price
Comment:
What can I say, it's a great CPU for the money. You can waste your money on the extreme 6 core chips if you want, but this is probably the best bang for your buck. I got this over the i5 because it was on a way better combo deal with an Asus z87-pro mobo and for the little extra I'd like to have the hyper-threading.Installation was a breeze and it overclocked to 4.6Ghz easily on air cooling. I could probably push it a little more, but it's running under 65C on full load right now.

Cons: Poor overclocking potential compared to the 3770k.

Pros: Very solid processor.
Comment:
Pretty well exactly what I expected out of it.Although for the performance difference between the 3770k, I should have picked up the 3770k for the overclocking potential. My 4770k is capped at 4.3 with 1.2/1.8/43/39 due to temperatures reaching 80-85 under p95 with a hyper 212 evo. Not the best overclocker.
