COOLMAX CA-400 400W Power Supply

My property has issues of power outages for about a handful of instances a year. So dying power supply has been a difficulty for me. This energy supply is inexpensive, however brings plenty to the table. I overclocked my AMD 64 from two.2Ghz to 2.5Ghz, and my 8800GT is oc'd to 700Mhz, the program under no circumstances miss a beat below any type of tension test. This PS does not have SATA connector. Not truly a con for this kind of price. I wouldn't load a lot more than two harddrives or two videocards or two dvd/cd burners onto it.

Installed and it operates. What a lot more can I say? None so far. I only installed it yesterday. For those of you commenting on the 24ተ pin connector, the four-pin extension is removable so there is certainly no challenge fitting onto the 20-pin header on the motherboard.

It seems to be trustworthy and the voltage levels seem to be excellent. It has a three position switch for fan speed. Higher, low and auto. It's not THAT quiet. It's billed as a quiet PSU. It's better than most worse than other folks. I purchased an additional right after buying this one. It seems to match the bill for my needs and that's in all probability the finest that I can say about something.

Outstanding PSU. I use these to replace failed or failing eMachines PSUs in my refurb units. Also have employed in new builds. Three bought so far, and I see no reason not to come back. All machines (even a gaming rig) running for three+ months, 24ǝ, no difficulty. None. Am I fortunate or does everyone else just rub theirs on the carpet to get the dust off before installing? With as quite a few people's failing, odds are, at least one of mine failed.

High excellent materials and connectors. Appears excellent. Easy to set up. I actually, installed it to a shorted motherboard, and the PS grafully shut down. A bit noisy. For the value is a great deal.

Fairly...? When i start off i cant cease but here we go. It barely gave enough energy to turn the cpu fan. The exaust (rear fan) mearely Twitched. Definitely a dead power supply. A Curious "clicking" in side of it as nicely. Had to run a slightly older supply to be confident (older provide worked), New 1 does not. Want i had read the reviews on this internet site. I would not have bought it. I could by no means acquire COOLMAX once again. Ought to have been shopping with "The EGG." One more con would be that the, Major CLIP did not wanna fit very easily on my MSI K9N2GM (HDMI). Universal connection MY FOOT. What seriously gripes me is this isnt for me, its for my brother. Maybe i'll go antec next time. Or go with the "will of the Rose" LOL.

It worked for a couple hours atleast. I noticed a beeping from my case. The cpu and case fan stopped functioning. 1 minute later anything stopped working. I was noway nearing its max 400w rating and this piece of junk died soon after a couple of hours. I knew this issue sucked when I bought it but I was hoping to get atleast a couple of months out of it.

ran effectively for a couple of weeks no prob but a couple of days ago the comp shut down and there was a smell of smoke coming from the PSU, never began up again. Im waiting for a replacement... i don't advocate this PSU

1) The cost is unbeatable on Neweggtwo) Quiet3) Cool, operating this psu for 5 hours and the temperature is just 28C4) Useful - None of my hardware has shut down considering that of this psu. No random power surges or shortages.5) A number of connectors, enough for most mid variety computers. There is no PCI-E connector because most contemporary video cards do not require this added energy supply. If you are having a Geforce 9800 or Radeon 4870 however, this PSU is not for you. 1) Connector cables are somewhat cheapish looking. They get the job performed though. two) PSU only supports one Ƒ) DVD/CD rom drive.three) 400W energy is enough for most computers with mid to higher end CPU and graphics card. In spite of this, more wattage upgrades may very well be required in the future. I don't know why most men and women are complaining about this psu. It appears to run rather cool and quiet. I plugged it in and it worked, replaced a failing PSU. Price tag was excellent. None that I can believe of. This was bought for a client of mine, it just worked.

It is the only power provide on NewEgg that is ᝺ bucks AR. I don't actually know what to count on from it, but so far my program runs wonderfully!
