- The instructions on the manual have been so effortless to set up I didn't have to read the text on it. There're each text and images to enable you install. - The AMD clip is 1 of the most easiest one particular I have used so far which doesn't demand me to use some piliers to help me attach the clip.- It comes with two fans: one push and one particular pull- It comes with three low RPM fan adapters: two single fan adapters (I shape) and 1 dual fan adapter (Y shape) Minor con for Socket AMD AM2+, but I'm not positive if it still applies to socket AMD2 and AM3: I can\'t run a push/pull (dual fans) because the deal with on the clip is blocking the installation of my second fan. I'm presently only making use of one push fan; however, a single fan is superior than no fan. Idle temperatures are anyplace around 32C to 40C depending on the ambient temperature. At one hundred% load, I observed it go as higher as 48C to 54C. Please note my CPU fan is running at 1600 RPM by way of the fan adapter. This cooler is much bigger than the Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro. If I was able to run a dual fan or push/pull setup, the cooler would still match completely fine in my computer case with the leading 200mm fan nevertheless intact.CASE: Thermaltake Element G Black ATX Mid TowerCASE FANS: 140mm rear, 200mm leading, 2x 120mm front, 230mm side CPU: AMD Socket AM2+ Phenom II X4 920 two.8 Ghz (stock)CPU FAN: Corsair A70 (air cooler) with a single 120mm fanMOBO: ASUS M3N72-D AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA nForce 750a SLIRAM: G.Skill 4GB ƒ x 2GB) DDR2 800PSU: Antec EarthWatts EA650 650WTough DRIVE: HITACHI Deskstar 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA three.0Gb/s 3.five"OS: Windows 7 Professional 64-bitGPU: MSI GeForce 9800 GT 512MB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express DVD DRIVES: 2x DVD Burners

Cool, light, effortless to mount. Big (but not an challenge if your case is correctly sized). The size of the heat sink plus two fans is quite major. Installed this on a 1155 socket 2600k. Match correct up! Idle temps are at 30C with Arctic Silver. As an engineer, this point turns me on.

Serious cooling. Now I imply, S.E.R.I.O.U.S.! 20 degrees C when Idle, 30-35 during CPU intensive games, and stabilizes at 51 under complete load in prime95 (despite my 135W CPU). Massive with 2 fans. Superb performance. Now I dont post a lot of critiques as normally they are redundant but this a single is unique. 1) This undesirable boy DOES NOT match in STORM SCOUT case, with an EVGA 3x SLI MB. Had to take away the top case fan. 2) second cpu fan does not fit due to the increasing heat sink on the EVGA board. Fan ş fan barely match above the gskill ripjaws3) This issue is LOUD! Does a genuinely very good job keeping my amd x4 b55 overclocked to 3.7, at 1.5v consistent at 52c beneath load. The fans are quiet and I like the style with the heatpipes directly contacting the CPU. Had to take motherboard out of storm scout case for installation, but I knew that prior to getting. I also had to take 1 if the heatsinks off of my patriot ram to clear the size if this heatsink. Not truly cons but my components selection at fault. That was at three.3 ghz and 1.44v. A70 keeps it at 52c no matter how extended I ran it, at three.7ghz and 1.5v. - Fantastic cooling on my i5 2500k three.30 GHz Sandy Bridge Processor.- Usually obtaining higher 30's to low 40's, not getting higher 20's or low 30's (generally around 32 degrees) - Massive, JUST match in (another half cm, wouldn't have produced it)- On the noisy side, but can be turned down if necessary. - Instruction manual included is on the great side, and is good for a computer item manual (usually crud manual incorporated)- Had a small difficulty with the bracket (hard to move), but got it adjusted ultimately.Would I suggest? I'm not certain. The fan that was currently incorporated with my processor (i5 2500k) was really small, and handled the heat Incredibly effectively. Old fan naturally had heating difficulties with prime95, but this appears to be capable to run it with out getting to hot.

Effortless to set up, superb cooling, silent, rebate. None. Performs as it must. I'm currently employing this on an AM2 6400+ chip that naturally runs hot, even moreso when OC'd. Ahead of, it was extremely prevalent for the temps to exceed 70C w/ the stock cooling @ 3100 GHz. I've been in a position to OC even greater and the temps will not exceed 55C below full load. I'm now limited by northbridge temperatures that I will get about to fixing sometime. As previously stated, there is an issue with the latch getting in the way of installing the push fan. I'm specific I can operate about it, but it's doing it's job now with only 1 fan, so I'm delighted. The fans clip on the sides of the heatsink (notice the indention in the fins) with a lip that covers all sides of the heatsink fins. By creating some easy cuts with a dremel tool on the plastic fan, you could simply raise them if anything is in the way; the clips are on the sides of the heatsink, not the leading or bottom, so they can slide up or down about an inch--they match snugly.

Box contains numerous connectors and mounting options, even resistors to quiet the fan down a bit. At present cooling my E6550 at 30-33 degrees, 39 degrees at max load. Earlier ASUS Fan was cooling at 72 degrees at idle. Much improvement. Crucial note, I am utilizing Arctic Silver 5 and not the included thermal compound. She reminds me of a watermelon. Enormous! The mounting bracket was crossing two capacitors but they had been very easily adjusted out of the way. My mid-tower necessary some adjusting as the side fan hugged the power supply with little clearance. Had to get rid of my window case fan as the heat pipes obstructed the fan and couldn't close the door. The drawback of the size is far outweighed by it's cooling capacity. No regrets, even if my finger was cut several times on the sharp fins. :)

You get a lot of value from this package. Two ball bearing fans, good hardware (for Intel) but just sufficient for AMD and capacity to do Push-Pull. I hope the next air cooler Corsair's OEM would put a lot of effort into the AMD mounting. Recall, mounting (pressure) makes the cooler. Whilst becoming lazy, while clamping down on the spring loaded clamp, it slipped when the mobo was still in the case (P180 Mini) and I broke off a single edge of the hooking thingy. The cooler faces South-North so make confident you use it in a case that has a prime vent fan. Can't argue about the price tag. The unit is bulky and heavy but most modern day coolers are. Liquid cooling have their headaches too.

Dual fan, substantial copper heat-pipes, packed in voltage minimizing extensions for running fans at a reduce speed for reduce noise, very good price tag for the cooling ability. Poor AMD retention mechanism compared to the packed in Intel one particular, can only face one direction in AMD setups, three wire fans rather of PWM capable fans. Overall this cooler is a excellent deal for the cash. It hangs with the greatest of the higher finish coolers quite readily. I have mine paired to a Phenom II 955 BE overclocked to four.2GHz employing Arctic Silver 5, and it is giving me an idle temp of 38C and a maximum of 61C when operating Prime95 with the fans operating at low speed. The match and finish of the cooler is fantastic, and it comes packed well. The incorporated fans attach effortlessly and function properly. They are only 3 pin, so they won't permit for fan manage by way of PWM though, which is unfortunate. As previously pointed out, the AMD retention mechanism is rather low cost hunting at feeling compared to the Intel mechanism. When I was installing the cooler, the retention clip felt somewhat weak, like it could accidentally bend or break if I wasn't careful. It also shows visible sideways flex when locked in location. Further disappointing is the reality that this decision of basic/cheap retention mechanism implies the cooler can only be oriented in it's socket in 1 direct

This is a wonderful cooling program if you determine to go with air instead of liquid. Running at a strong 2k+ rpm, these keep my case cool. The stock Thermal paste actually keeps my cpu cooler than when I utilized arctic silver 5. One of the screws that came with it broke and I contacted Corsair about it and they never ever got back to me. I've produced a short-term fix but I'd like for them to send me a new screw -_-

-Solid construction-Simple Fan mounting-Includes Thermal Compound -Undesirable incorporated instructions, with merely passable supplemental directions on the web (via an online search). Both have equivalent omissions (see Other thoughts).-DIMM clearance can be tough. I have a P8P67 Pro with some Ripjaw (old HSF style) so that's all I can comment on. The Shroud+Fan cover the very first two DIMM Slots. My DIMM in Slot Š basically has Ӭ clearance with the fan. It would not be achievable to fit in Slot ş considering that the shroud extends slightly additional than the fan does. Each guidelines have the following omissions:-4 black plastic washers are included, but by no means mentioned. These ought to go on the backplate posts on top of the plastic insulation, prior to installing the backplate.-The HSF is asymmetric. One side is slightly concave, one side is slightly convex. No mention of which side goes with which fan (push vs. pull). I utilised a bit of reasoning to assume concave side = push.-At least for the LGA1155 boards, the HSF can be mounted in each front-to-back and best-to-bottom orientations. This affects more than just your air circulation path, given that it adjustments the way that the heat pipes cross your ISF on the CPU. One orientation may possibly lead to all 4 to cross your die perpendicularly, while the other may well have two operating on leading of it and the other two operating beside but by no means overlapping it. This is never ever addressed anyplace.I haven't had the time to mount it in both strategies and see which is most best.

this cooler keeps my CPU good and cool. It's even gotten as low as 27C, but usually idles about 30-32C. Some say the size, but I like larger. originally I had a Raidmax Smilodon mid tower, but this cooler was as well massive and couldn't match. Now most would think that was a poor point, but I didn't like that case and was hunting for an excuse to upgrade anyway even although I had just bought it. So I purchased the 932 HAF (the case I originally wanted but was attempting to save some funds at the time) and it fit beautifully, becoming that it's a full tower. My temps are way reduced then with the stock fan, but I have not begun to overclock however. It keeps my 965BE as cool as an iceberg. Enough mentioned about that. The push/pull fan config is good. The fans are replaceable if you have two 120mm fans that you would rather use than the stock. The installation of new fans is very simple. Pull them from the rubber grommets and install the new fan[s]. No will need to change your motherboard backplate to set up the cooler if you have an AMD construct like me. The very best element about this HSF compared to my last one particular is that my pair G.Skill Ripjaws can match (with space to spare) beneath the CPU cooler without having hassle. Just make sure that you install the RAM ahead of you set up the HSF.I purchased at a time in the course of the rebate so I really should see a ฤ pre-paid VISA coming in the mail creating this ส right after I get my rebate back. The cooler is Godzilla sized. Seriously. It has some heft to it with each fans attached and is a lot taller than I anticipated which means that I have to either live with out my 200mm side intake fan on my NZXT Hades case or get an totally distinct 1. I adore this HSF so significantly that I can live with out my 200mm fan as extended as temps continue to keep low with this cooler. That is a fault of my personal. I really should have completed far more study. One particular point to maintain in mind is also how you handle this. It is effectively-constructed and sturdy but the bottom and top rated fins bend Incredibly effortlessly so preserve an eye out for that. This has to be the ideal upgrade I've thrown into my computer for a whilst and that's saying some thing thinking about that I've installed 2 SSDs, quad core CPU, and a TB HDD as of current. Absolutely a worthy replacement on my Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro Rev. two. That cooler is made of very low cost materials, particularly the fan. I man-handled this cooler and had no issues with it. I guess Corsair is worthy of their reputation!

I'm loving this cpu cooler. The fans are quiet and move a lot of air, I really like the black wires, the install was easy, their thermal compound operates just as great as Artic Silver 5, and I love the general quality of the product. Corsair does it again. With the two fans installed, this cooler is enormous. But not as huge as other coolers. So know the size ahead of you buy. Unless your case is tiny, or your mobo cpu socket is close to your ram slots, you shouldn't have a dilemma with the size of this cooler. Affordable pricing for higher end air cooling. Comes with mounts for Intel LGA775, 1156 and 1366 and also for AMD and should be able to be applied with the original A64 program onwards. Comes with some inline resistors to slow the fan speeds down for quieter operation if you are sensitive to noise. Uncomplicated attach fan holders operate nicely and can support substantially heavier fans than the stock ones. If you have ram with tall heatspreaders you can have clearance troubles with the 1st couple of ram slots. Heatspreaders with removable tops like the Corsair Dominator series can be utilised and ram with regular form heatspreaders will have no troubles though. Also, their speedy guide is pretty terrible for installing on Intel systems and don't apply the thermal interface material the way they show in the guide. This is a HDT heatsink so put a thin line of thermal stuff down each heatpipe as an alternative. I saw at least four C or reduce temps employing the lines down the heatpipes approach versus the pea size in the middle method that Corsair recommends. I didn't try mounting it on an AMD method, but since it uses the stock AMD RM it should install pretty painlessly. You will nevertheless have the interference difficulty with tall heatspreaders even though on your ram. In my testing of this heatsink, I found it's functionality to come fairly close to the True Rev. C and Venomous X and Megahalems, just lagging by a little. It lagged the Noctua NH-D14 by a little far more. But it's only around 60% of the cost of the Noctua as well, so that is a excellent trade off. If you are employing ram with brief heatspreaders, this heatsink ought to be on your brief list to select from.

Fortunately, my RAM does not have a heatsink. - Like other reviewers said, the manual that comes with the cooler is extremely poor. It comes along with four washers that had been never mentioned. These washers go in in between the bottom bracket and the mobo for Intel installs. - Also talked about by one more reviewer, the cooler was designed in a exceptional way. One side is convex (out) and the other is concave (in). These go in element with the fans. The fans are laid out so one particular pulls and 1 pushes. I situated mine so the convex side is pulling the air outward or away from the cooler.
