Cons: 1080p crashesSubpar in low lightReliability

Pros: CheapEasy to setup
Comment:
It worked fine for 2 months. Don't bother with 1080p because quality wise it's no better than 720p. Also it crash alot in 1080p. Also after the first 2 monthes, every time I start the camera it only record the first 1-2mins and it stopped or crash. Took me a while to realize the cam is busted when I check my sdcard files. I tried switching between sandisk ultra and kingston cards still same result. Not reliable at all.

Cons: Didn't work properly. Scratched up lcd screen out of the box

Pros: 1080p, Solid, sticks to windshield well, easy to navigate menu.
Comment:
I bought a Carcam p9000 brand new. The lcd screen was scratched up badly, and it would permanently shutoff every 5 minutes or so. Completely useless. Clearly a second hand product in a brand new box. I blame the manufacturer for sending me this second hand piece of garbage. Even if they fixed the internals properly which they didn't, it wouldn't be right to sell it as new as scratched up as it was. Reap what you sow, 1 out 5.

Cons: unproven durability

Pros: good video quality, easy to use, lots of configurable settings in the menu, timestamp.......
Comment:
Generally it's a good buy, totally worth the money. My only concern is the durability of the made-in-china flip screen as its pretty tight and I am worried it may break someday. I managed to turn the screen around and make it facing the back so I won't have to flip it each time of using; but the windshield mount seems does not want to cooperate with me......and I end up hanging the camera upside down in car with upside down video on the camera screen. But that does not bother me at all, the video is perfectly good when viewed on the computer. I use 1280x720 resolution and its clear enough. 400MB/3 min

Cons: None to report

Pros: Fast setup, easy menus, great HD picture and sound
Comment:
Since opening the box I have been amazed by how well this camera performs. I drive for a living and this camera makes a great witness if any problems should occur. Easily played by any Windows computer with USB.

Cons: Occasional unreadable/corrupt video file.

Pros: "Plug and play" Nice windshield suction mount. Good video and audio. (Operates best on 720.)
Comment:
Product works very well. Best on 720. 1080 is a bit unreliable.I use this product an average of 12 hours per day and only twice have come across two corrupt video files.I would recommend it for those whom want a decent car DVR for under $100.I will be purchasing another one for my second vehicle.

Cons: car camera doesn't work

Pros: nothing good
Comment:
I ordered a few products 2 weeks ago and they came in 3 different shipments, which is ok.I try to make the carcamera work but it's coming to the main screen and that's it. The side bottom:Mode, Meniu, do nothing at all. I am disappointed and I want to send it back asap.

Cons: Documentation is lackingShort usb cable

Pros: Cheap camGood features
Comment:
This cam uses a mini USB connection for the power source, with a micro SDHC slot for memory. The auto on/off works perfectly. There are a few resolution modes, up to 1920x1080. Included is a windshield mount, a mini USB cable, and a mini USB to 12V DC car outlet cable. If this was a tad more compact it would have gotten five stars.

Cons: Horrible Night Time Settings

Pros: Cheap, 1080P, Nice Wide Shot, LCD Display
Comment:
This dash cam is great for it's price. Was given to me as a gift 3 months ago and it is in daily use. Key word though is "daily". This camera is very dark at night, and if the road doesn't have very much lighting it is almost impossible to see anything. Played with the settings but I have yet to come up with a way to make it better. It is a cheap device so I guess you get what you pay for.Other than that I have had no issues with it. Works great during the day, the video is clear. The option to plug it up to an HD TV or monitor using HDMI is a great feature.I would recommend this if you are mostly a day driver, but if it you are mostly a night driver I suggest putting down a little bit more money and getting a higher model.

Cons: File size. Low light performence is lacking

Pros: Video quality excellent, mice wide angle lens.
Comment:
I have tried many dash cameras in the past, most with disappointing results. The vast majority are only VGA or lower resolution, and even when selected for XGA or HD mode, all the cameras do is interpolate the video into a big file of the same quality crap as the standard setting.I was nicely surprized to find that this camera does record a high quality picture. I have looked at the 1080 picture and it is quite good. Not so sure that it is full 1080, will be doing a comparision with my Kodak Zi10 1080p camera and my Sony DSCTX100 both of which record full 1080. My guess is it will be 720, as it is a sharp picture, but not quite up to what I expect a 1080 picture to be. To date the weather hasn't been great, and testing in fog is not a good way to evaulate picture quality. That said, this is an excellent camera for the money. It captures a nice wide view or the road, and there is no lag in time as it loops to the next file. My last camera I tested there was an 8 second "blind" spot as the camera was starting up the next file. An 8 second black out may not sound like a lot, unless you are misfortunate to have an accident during that time, and then that becomes a big issue. One thing I have noticed is 10 minutes of video takes up 1.5Gigs of space, so buy the largest card you can find (32 gig). This is due to the primitive .avi format used. Even though the box says H.264, it is not. Recordings are in MJPEG. My Kodak and Sony cameras use h.264 and AVCHD respectively. A 16 gig card will deliver about 2 hours on these cameras, but on the p9000 car cam, the recording time of a 16 gig card is about 1 hour. Definately not H.264

Cons: Needed 1st RMA, Hard to see button labels, so-so night recording.

Pros: Affordable, Good Image Quality with useful Wide Angle, Reliable After 1st RMA
Comment:
The first camera had issue with auto power on and off, and NCIX took care of my RMA in a respectable manner (I didn't have ExpressRMA). The 2nd camera worked right off the bat. I put it on 720p with a Patriot Class 10 32GB MicroSD. For about 3 months now, I had only one instance of it power off while I was driving on highway, and one instance that it hang upon disconnect of power (car turn off at park). I am fine and expected it to happen once a while, and once in 3 month is pretty good for the money I paid ($69). I recommended my brother to buy another while it was on sale, and no complain except it's not very reliable while recording 1080p.

Cons: IR assist lights are useless beyond 12"White LEDs on front are decoration only. Buttons are loose and the rattle can be heard on recorded audio.Suction mount received with mine was defective.

Pros: Decent video quality.Small size. Unobtrusive when positioned behind rearview mirror.Power cable is plenty long.
Comment:
Good enough for the cost. Video quality seems a bit grainer than that from an iPhone 3Gs, but certainly not as sharp. Again, good enough. The white LEDs on the front are for decoration only. Disassembly of the unit shows no wires leading to the LEDs. The control buttons rattle and can be heard in the recorded audio. Again, disassembly and adding thin shims to the buttons solves that issue. The suction mount received with my unit would not adhere to any surface. The lever lock functions, but it doesn't generate any amount of suction. I had other mounts on hand from other devices. Not worth the hassle to return it. I plan to make a more permanent mount eventually.10 minutes of 1080p video will consume about 1.4gb of card space. A fast card is best. Tried with 8gb Class 4, video was jerky and wouldn't play smooth. 16gb Class 10, and video playback is smooth. All said, decent enough value for the money when purchased on sale ($49.99).

Cons: not the best night vision

Pros: good price, easy to operate, auto on and off whenever you start the car, 1080p hd
Comment:
this little dvr works as advertised, nice to have a little security for your car, very easy to use and install, good video in daytime, but night is very poor, but for $50 can't complain, for those that want better night the blackvue is better but also more $$

Cons: - Lousy manual - Short battery life, camera is likely meant to be operated by cable.- Controls are not user intuitive - Does not work well at night

Pros: - Easy to setup
Comment:
Camera works as expected, however the night recording was very dark even with IR activated. The manual was atrocious and the camera's operation was not intuitive. I'm not one who reads the manuals as I can usually figure out how to work my "toys" without them. In this case, I was forced to read it. Took a bit of "patient" reading before I realized my error. FYI: The "mode" an "menu" buttons do not work while the camera is recording.

Cons: no LED light, too dark at night, heat problem, not compatible with Patriot sdhc

Pros: smooth images, cheap price, easy install
Comment:
I have used for one week and would like to advise someone to buy this product. Video quality is not bad on that price, it's smooth recording. but is it real 1080p? even worse than 720p at some points from my experience. On manual and the box, it has lots of functions and setup options, but not true for everything. First, two LED lights on the front have been never turned on so try to RMA but figured out that is just decoration not "LED" light. when checked another unit on NCIX, it didn't turned on. The next, there is brightness setting on setup, but it never changed on the images.I bought it with Patriot LX 16GB micro SDHC (class 10), but doesn't work with it. With Kingston 8GB SDHC (class 4) from my phone, it works. No defection on the Patriot SDHC. it works with other devices. It's just not compatible with this camcorder. 8GB is too small only recorded for 50 mins continuous recording. I wanna buy 32GB, but not sure because don't know what is compatible with this. Luckily, i don't have any recording problem with the Kingston SDHC, which is class 4. For 2 mins 1080p recording, it takes about 300MB on the memory, which means 5MB/s. so better buy more than class 6.A lot of products have identical shape from different manufacturers, don't know who is the origin. you can find them on youtube. Now I'm gonna see how reliable for long use.

Cons: Unit gets very hotVery unhappy with Class 4 memory cards - needs Class 10 or higherPoor manual - menu and functions not intuitive

Pros: Very small, compact, sturdy windshield mount, very clear video, looks to be true 1080p
Comment:
Still fiddling with the unit - returned one already after it appears to have overheated. Video quality shows and plays as 1080p. Very strong windshield mount and the power cable is long enough to route from the mirror to the A pillar, under the dash and to the power outlet. Audio is very clear (beware of recorded conversations). Discovered that the unit definitely prefers Class 10 or higher memory cards - when it would not write consistently to a Class 4, and the memory overwrite works prefectly. Battery is virtually non-existent (is there one really in there?), maybe less than 2 min recording on it - and I suspect it was the culprit of the overheating on the first unit. Still trying to figure out the lighting (LED and IR), its not clear how to use this function in the manual and if there is a quick way to turn ON/OFF both. Have purchased a secound unit for the other car - but can only rate this as Satisfactory until a longer test run.
