This issue is a true trooper as I have had it running nonstop for 10hrs currently and its cooler to the touch than my usb-only 400gig cavalry. Also in case anybody doesn't know this: a usb external drive will get about 30-35 mb/s and an e-sata will get close to 115mb/s. Enormous distinction Ummm... I'll have to get back to you down the road to say for certain, but atm nothing at all. I purchased it on Sunday and got it Monday the following week given that UPS refuses to deliver on the weekends :( . Newegg nevertheless rocks. Individuals complain about the blue light being as well bright and it is not as undesirable as they say. Was truly worried about getting the drive. Decided that I would go and do it. Plug in, and just starts beeping at me. I read the manual and it even says in there, "if loud noises take place, device is defective. Get in touch with our tech help instantly" !!!!!!!! I emailed them, the return email suggested that I use a different power cable, possibly from a printer.... seriously. Cause I guess the power was the challenge with it beeping at me. Contacted Newegg as an alternative, got complete refund easy rma print out, dollars back in significantly less than the time it took me to get the drive in the mail. Don't attempt this drive, as well risky, who knows it may commence up and then crash out in the course of back up, 1st back up that is. Inexpensive and reasonably priced. Attempt to avoid this drive if possible. I purchased due to the fact it was decent for its price tag and i already had a Cavalry 500GB drive. This drive is SLOW. After i had loaded it up with 700 GB+ of information it would take time (around six-7 secs) for the drive to open up the contents of a folder. The drive itself has started behaving erratically and i have been doing error checking on it for a entire evening. Buy it if you want it as a backup drive otherwise avoid. Could be greater if it was as quickly as the 500 GB one particular.

Great transfer speeds with the integrated eSATA cable, have been running for days on finish with constant downloading to the device although listening to music stored on it and it doesnt get as well hot. Low cost 1TB external USB/ESATA storage. Inexpensive 1TB external USB/ESATA storage. I only used the USB side after to test operability, it worked. I let it sit for a month prior to I lastly hooked up the Esata elements, and blamo, the chasis LED just flashes blue to red which is clearly some error given that the drives don't even begin to spin. ...additional to adhere to as I prepare to spend a lot more money on this drive to RMA it.

Truely a "Plug & Play" drive. Plugged into a spare USB 2. slot and was recognized instantly. Preformated NTFS so no added function there. A lot of space to back up your Computer with. None so far. LED light is kinda bright,although. e-SATA cable comes with it. Outer box states that a manual and CD are included but weren't inside & have been not necessary anyway. The 1 page instruction sheet was sufficient.
