Cons:
- no duplex printing (well manually always works ;))- bulky and heavy (doesn't bother me once set up)- much bigger than my inkjet- slightly noisy, but very acceptable to me (quiet mode???)
Pros: - 600x600 (default resolution and fine for me)- Color Laserjet (print quality)- First out page BW is about 20 seconds.- First out page in color is about 25 seconds. - Speed is much faster than my inkjet- slide out tray for cartridges is smooth.- definitely a quality built printer.- consumables can be found for less than half price. |

I would have never bought this at the regualr price of $ 300.00, but for the sale price of $ 129.00 I had to give it a try.Setup was easy, and windows 7 immediately installled drivers no problem.Print outs look very nice, including some test photos I tried. Definitely better than a Ink Jet printer.It would have been nice if the unit had duplex printing, or even an optional duplexer unit.Consumables (Original) are over $ 300.00 dollars, but I have found refill kits on eBay for about $35.00, and remanufactered toner kits for about $ 120.00 (set of 4) so that helps keep the cost for consumables to a reasonable price.I looked at several of the color lasers NCIX had on sale here, and the HP had a better supply of after market consumables, Some of the other brand name lasers have very limited options for third party consumables so you end up paying much more for them in the end.since this is my first color laser, i can't really compare print speeds, but I am happy enough with this unit as far as speed goes. Quality was more important in this case |

I got this printer when it's on sale, it prints nicely in colour but this printer is kinda slow even when it's printing in black and white. |

Got this for $129 on sale. A good deal for a laser jet. Definitely would not pay original 299 for it.Cartridges go fast. A bit bulky for just a printer. Resolution is fair for the buck but no the greatest.Quite slow in BW mode.Would not recommend unless on sale. |

I bought this for a friend. He is very happy with it. First, it's strength:1. Fast2. Great print quality3. Reliable4. There is no ink to dry!its weakness:The toner is as expensive as a inkjet when it come to color, especially if you are buying retail from Future Shop etc. Cost per page is about the same as inkjet if you crunch the numbers but there are no wasted ink cartridges! I think it is well worth the 130. |

I bought this printer to do a fairly large printing project, and really didn't expect much from it. I thought it would be less expensive to buy this for $139 rather than try to print my job with an inkjet printer. I am very happy with it and will continue to use it for everyday use. After about 2000 pages I have yet to have a paper jam of any kind. The supplied toner is worth as much as the price of the printer. |

This printer is replacing my Samsung CLP-310. My first impression was. "WOW!, this thing is huge and seems VERY solid". It's quite bigger than the Samsung, and way heavier (maybe a sign of true quality? time will tell). So far, it prints very well and is quieter than the Samsung. I haven't had any issues with it so far. I like the way the toner drawer pulls out and loads up. I don't know if this is a negative or not, but there's no toner capture like in the Samsung, but I know from my work that HP has pretty solid machine's, and they don't have toner collectors either, so I feel it's a non issue. I printed a few pics and wasn't too impressed with the quality, but that could just be the quality of the image only, cause I printed the same pics at Walmart, and it wasn't a huge improvement. Still All in all, this printer is nice and I am very happy. The toner is expensive,but I found a place online that sells toner replacement for this printer at http://www.123inkcartridges.ca/hp-toner-cartridges/Color-LaserJet-CP1215.html for $47.50 each. |

Got this printer on sale for about 130 using gift cards and have never been happier. I was so annoyed with using inkjet printers because they kept drying out on me. I decided to spend a little more and get a laser printer so i dont have to worry about ink drying out again and my printer being inoperable. Than I found a great sale price on these things and it has become one of the best purchases I have ever made. |

I replaced a Samsung CLX-2160 which was a very noisy machine that had failed after about 1 year of use.This HP is much more silent during operation, it prints much quicker and the quality of the print, especially the colors, is more accurate.This is the best printer I've ever owned, and at the ~$130 sale price, I'd heartily recommend this to those needing/wanting a laser printer.THC |

I've used the CLP-310 by Samsung for a few years, then I got this one on sale $135 ish.This one is a lot quieter, and much better quality than the Samsung. I will not go back.However the starter toner does not last as long as the Samsung. Replacement toner for black is $93 but lasts for 2200 pages. |

I'm very happy with this printer; it has been great over the last 2 days. It has printed my flyers and receipts perfectly so I'm very happy with that, and honestly, faster than I expected, well much faster than what I accustomed to witht the inkjet.The 12 pages per minute for me is plenty for color laser prints - much more professional than my inkjet, and the 20-30 seconds first page out is much faster than the IP3000 for color prints (slower when comparing to BW mind you, but very acceptable to me - I just fire off a print job and let it go as I continue to work).So far, no paper jams and I'm very happy and impressed with the quality of print at 600x600.
