This enclosure is very very noisy,also many times it will not recognize the two Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 1000GB 1TB SATA2 7200RPM 8.5MS 32MB Cache NCQ Hard Drive OEM that are installed in it,but they work fine in my PC.I have since ordered a different brand of enclosure.I will not be buying ngear again.By the way what is the switch inside the ngear for? As it came with no documentation. |

worked fine the first few times. now when i turn it on and connect it the computer doesnt recognize the drives and i dont hear the drives spinning up. Both HD work fine afterwards in my vantec enclosure. invoice # 03059419. Purchased 1/30/09 |

I picked up two a short while ago to backup my data. Within a month, both stopped working (enclosures stopped being recognized by XP or Vista). The 4 drives worked fine afterward when I plugged them into the computer directly (had to perform another quick format to use them again), but the enclosure itself wasn't recognized. Was not able to recover most of my data ... definitely wouldn't buy from nGear again. |

I bought this so I could add more optical drives to my system. Since I only have 6 sata ports on my motherboard and 3 internal sata hard drives, plus 2 sata optical drives and having the urge to add more I bought this. Currently I have 2 500gb sata hitachi hard drives in it. Pretty easy to install, but I'm not sure if there was any documentation included with this to be honest. Comes with tiny driver cd, but isn't needed for install. Only real compaint is the fan is a bit noisy, but is somewhat bearable the longer you have the drive running. |
Was offered this when I bought 2 WD drives. Have a few spare SATA drives so I thought this would be a good way to house them.Works o.k. Drives fit but barely. The forming press isn't all that great especially for the drive in the bottom of the U. Drives housing with two drives in is a bit tight so can be hard getting the drives out.
