This was added as a simple upgrade. I wasn't really expecting any noticeable advantage- I bought it since of the 100khr mtbf rating, the higher efficiency, and the huge, quiet fan. But when I began going by way of my audio collection as a test run right after assembly (moved my desktop into a new Storm Sniper case I got here on sale). Nothing changed but the PSU- and but, my ears kept dragging me back into the livingroom as I heard one particular jawdropping improvement after another. Depth of field, imaging and clarity were all far better. Yes, I have a high finish audio card, feeding a high finish home theater through toslink- but I consider even a fair program would benefit. This made me curious, so I drug out my old storage scope and looked at the outputs- and the ripple on the dc was WAY low. Lesson discovered: cleaner energy = far better sound. Cables are all lengthy enough for a complete tower with enough further for excellent routing. Also nicely packed- the bag for the PSU and the velcro-equipped storage case for the modular cables produced me wonder if I was purchasing a rare bottle of scotch. I practically didn't want to open it up and install it. Buy it. I've determined that the PSU is NOT a sensible spot to skimp.

Excellent PSU! It’s silent and has a lot more than sufficient power, and the modular design makes wire management clean and efficient. It didn’t function on my OEM Hp mobo. I don't know if it was just a compatibility issue or if the PSU was DOA. I RMA'd by way of Newegg, which btw was a quick and easy process, and now utilizing the replacement PSU with my EVGA SLI3 mobo with no problems. Absolutely nothing to say that hasn't been said. I've applied a non-modular 850 W Corsair in another Pc for a couple of years with no complaints. Just place with each other a new Computer with this 1 yesterday. This is actually reaching, but compared to the four case fans, Hyper 212 Plus, and GTX 570, this energy provide is the loudest component in the case. "Loud" is really relative. There's just a faint whirring sound from the fan, nonetheless quiet general.

Higher quality parts and construction.Effortlessly meets and exceeds it's specifications.Particularly steady voltages.Semi-modular design and style tends to make sense.Fairly quiet for its energy rating.Seven year warranty. The flat peripheral cables may possibly not appear as good as sleeved cables, but they are the exact same gauge wire and are greater for cable management and match simpler in tight locations. The 4/eight pin motherboard energy cable could not be extended adequate in a full tower case with bottom mounted PSU.The money spent on a velvet bag could have been utilized for a silicon isolation gasket or extension cables for the motherboard power cables. Impress me with the item, not the packaging. That's what low high quality solutions try to do.Not a con, just a reality, this unit is longer than reduced wattage units, be confident it will match in your case and don't forget the need to have for further room for the modular cables to match and plug in and out. Why is this PSU scary-excellent? The voltage readings for the a variety of rails don't change at all or really little. I attempted various voltage monitoring applications and they all showed the exact same voltage down to the 1񲿘th of a volt! I know that these applications are not as accurate as a very good volt meter, but every PSU I have ever had showed fluctuations in the voltage readings over time, regardless of the load, up to multi-tenths of a volt. This unit consistently shows the similar reading for the 12 volt rail day right after day, 12.081V. Similar issue with the five and 3.three rails, except with variations only at the 1럼 volt level or significantly less, if that. I believed a thing was incorrect with my Computer or motherboard, or the monitoring applications had locked up. Neither was the case, this PSU is rock solid. An earlier critique of this PSU stated that this model is basically the 1000 Watt model of the HX series that did not meet its specs. That is false, the 1000 watt unit has two transformers and it's case is larger.

Quite effectively packaged, case for added cords... zip ties... screws...rebate... obtain 1! I'll let you know in 7 years. Overkill for my existing setup, but program on going SLI in a year or so and can always retain the PSU for future builds. It is a bit far more expensive than other options in this range, but I definitely really feel you get what you pay for right here; it's worth it.

I really can't say something that hasn't already been said. This factor is simply a workhorse, a Clydesdale to say the extremely least. Heavier weight in a PSU generally indicates better elements. If the weight dangling at the top rated of your case has you a small worried, you ought to probably take the plunge to get a case that the PSU mounts at the bottom. This thing fits beautifully in my Rosewill ARMOR case. It wouldn't rather operate as a back up power source for my property when the energy goes out. I'm not going to get into all my OC'ing and tweaks that are in my Computer. What I will say is that this PSU has lots of energy to run anything I have and is incredibly stable.AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHzASUS M4A89GTD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890GX HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB three.ASUS ENGTX460 DirectCUǘDIǗGD5 GeForce GTX 460 1GB 256-bit GDDR5G.Ability Ripjaws Series 8GB Ɣ x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM 1600Western Digital Caviar Black WD1002FAEX 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA six.0Gb/s X2 (RAID OS)Western Digital Caviar Blue WD10EALS 1TB 7200 RPM 32MB Cache SATA three.0Gb/s X2 (RAID Storage)LITE-ON 24X DVD Writer Black SATA Model iHAS424-98ZALMAN CNPS 7500 Cu LED 110mm two Ball CPU CoolerRosewill ARMOR Gaming ATX Mid Tower Pc Case, Complete mesh style Ɨ fans w/ LEDs)Peripherals (VIA USB 2.Ǚ.)Rosewill RX-DU300 2.five" & three.5" USB three. As I was reading a lot of evaluations it occurred to me; why are so many power supplies experiencing initial or close to term failures? This takes place either for the duration of manufacture or shipping.I hope it isn't a "acceptable level of failure" on Corsair's behalf.A achievable answer is to use a volt meter to check the unit out before connecting expensive components to it.Dear Corsair, your thoughts on this would be incredibly welcome as well as any preventative measures a consumer could implement. Maybe a blurb on your web site. Any reasonable individual has to think that you are very interested in preserving your reputation as a leader in element manufacturing. None, though I am a non-owner. Just performing analysis. I am a radiation protection specialist. I perform in industrial nuclear power plants, nuclear investigation and sadly in the nuclear weapons complex. If US Postal Service's shipping troubles are commensurate with that of our Federal Governments' implementation of their Radiation Protection System (Title 10CFR835), the remedy is apparent. Helloooo Federal.

Quiet, stable energy. This PSU got excellent critiques, and I can see why. No troubles right after 2 months. Modular cables are not designed for a case that mounts the PSU at the bottom. Still usable, but much more tricky to setup. Looks good, feeds cold air right into my video card.

Silver certified but really was Gold in testing. Modualr with lots of cables. Really steady power. Wonderful seeking unit packaged extremely professionally. When mounted in a tower that has bottom PSU slot, the PSU had to be mounted upside down and appears kinda funny with the Corsair name upside down from behind. Not a large deal and i knew it when buying so definately not worth knocking an egg off. I hate persons who purchase a thing, know the price tag they are paying, and then jump on right here and bi*ch about what it cost them.1.) You get what you spend forŌ.) You have 100's of selections to pick from when it comes to computer elements, dont bi*ch when you are the 1 hitting the add to cart button!
