I have decided to RMA this item. My ipod shuts off when I turn my xbox off, why shouldn't this? Don't want to leave a HD running all day for fear of what ever. Newegg is RMA'ing this back for a full refund plus shipping, no restocking fee. none, even though it did time-out a couple instances when transferring 20 gigs of data. It's generally ๖, devote 10 more and get WD. i may attempt WD next time. I have often had luck with them.

low cost usb powered. it is an external tough drive so no surprises. operates right out of the box with linux mac and osx without having issues. i am utilizing it to hold all my music so i can plug it in my auto or any computer. no concerns at all. some usb ports dont have adequate power but the second usb power cord gets the job accomplished it is cheap and performs.

None The solution did not last extended - I bought this to use as necessary. I wrote to the drive at the most five times before it failed. Drive no longer performs and all data in it is lost. If you puchase be positive to back up your back up and program to shed information and income pretty quickly. Gave this a 1 egg rating mainly because a no egg rating was not an selection.

Fast transfer of information. Tiny. No power cord. No will need for computer software, comes formatted in FAT32. Slippery. Use the tiny black pouch that comes with it. Wanted a small drive for music that I could hook up to an xbox 360. I figured considering that it was powered by USB it would shut off when I turned the console off. It doesn't. I guess the USB ports on the 360 stay reside when the unit is off. Not confident if I will preserve it. Appears to be a strong unit. Excellent alternative to a thumb drive.

Incredibly compact and little; the simple USB cord produced it really effortless to actually use the hard drive upon 1st plug-in It didn't operate after the very first time I plugged it in and place files onto it. I tried numerous occasions, on my own, and on other individuals' computers, to make the tough drive perform so I could at least take my files off just before returning it, but it didn't perform at all. It's a fantastic value for the value, but the solution just wasn't as easy to use as it seemed. Maybe only this one was defective, so I wouldn't entirely rule out the possibility that other solutions from this brand are usable.

80 GB for ฽.00 shipped.Plug and Play with Windows XP SP3Hassle-free Carry CaseFast file tranfer. None that I've encountered yet... Operates precisely as I anticipated. Transfered entire 'My Documents' of 24 GB in 31 minutes without having any issues. Seriously... for ฽ it's a steal. If you're searching to use it on an daily basis tranferring files and count on it to final for 6 to 12 months, get true. You will need to pony up the money and don't be a low-cost skate subsequent time. You get what you spend for and at this price tag it's precisely what I expected. You can't even find a decent 32 GB thumb drive for this affordable!

Immediately after reading throught the manual to realize the nature of the Y-cable it worked best. Its essentially a WDC Scorpio drive inside and only uses 500ma which tends to make it best for my Pioneer receiver in my vehicle which has usb. None as of this moment.. Had to plug it into my motherboards USB ports for energy only required to plug in a single plug "the fat one particular" for it to work, for some explanation it didnt want to function with my circumstances usb ports even with both cables plugged in. I now have it no a single USB cable running like a champ !

Shiny case Plugged it in according to the instructions (Thick usb initially, then thin) and it did not work. Then I hooked it up to anther personal computer and as soon as once more nothing. Tried a diverse USB cable and got nothing. Tried with Vista and XP. Neither could see the drive. Possibly the next one will operate.

Decent enclosure. Self powered. Low cost The drive died and ate its own MBR immediately after 20 days. It may possibly be affordable...but sadly you get what you spend for. It came with bad sectors on the drive. Right after 20 days it lost its MBR and refuses to accept a new a single no matter what I do. Trust me when I say obtain something else!

It holds anything that I required it to, and all round it's worth the income. Excellent backup drive for backing up your individual files. A bit slow to transfer files, and it requires up two USB ports, a single for energy and one for communication. So if you are going to use this issue make confident you have the area to plug it in. I purchased this hard drive for transferring files from a desktop that I had to re-set up vista on, and transfer them to my laptop. And transferring 23.7GB worth of information took overnight. But if you are going to use this issue for a general backup disk than this is the way to go.

Barely a paperweight. DON'T get this external harddrive. I currently made that mistake for you. When I 1st received the unit I formatted it to NTFS employing 4KB minimal file size. Then I added 30GB worth of files to it. I took it with me to perform the next day with my laptop and attempted to open some of the 22 minute video files. The very first couple of video clips I opened only showed a timestamp of 30 seconds and would play for that long and then repeat, even though the file really should have been 22 minutes and does indeed work perfectly fine on my desktop. An additional significant issue was any files I copied onto the drive and then removed the usb plug just before waiting 10 minutes would basically vanish. Dissapear. The strangest factor I've ever noticed. I like to read emails and form my replies in a .txt file and then save it for later. So I would generate .txt files for all my replies on the drive. After I was accomplished typing, I saved the .txt file and then removed the usb connector about 30 seconds later. I put it back in immediately after a handful of hours and to my dismay all the .txt files I added had been just GONE. Extremely unusual as I could open and close them fine through the similar session of operate even though the usb plug was in for that period. I can reproduce this dilemma perfectly with any other files as effectively, you have to wait a ridiculous 10 minutes for the files to remain permenantly on the drive. You are infinitely far better off getting a 16GB usb flash drive for the same money than this 80GB usb harddrive. The flash drives are quicker, additional dependable, and physically smaller. Once again, DON'T acquire this external harddrive. I don't know if it's a dilemma with Cirago or just all external usb harddrives in general but stay far away from this one particular.

Pretty quick.Doesn't overheat.Bought 20 for big project delivery to prospects, so far all 18 we've utilized have been just fine.Integrated USB cable has dual heads for added energy on laptops/netbooks. Formatted in FAT32, which is worthless if you're transferring an exceptionally big number of files (more than 21844) per folder. Reformatting to NTFS is annoying.Quirky when it comes to the "safely remove hardware" function: occasionally it takes multiple attempts to disconnect.

I was backing my computer system up on a WD hard drive and it died within four months. This Cirago has lasted now for more than 7 months and is performing the job. It is slim and does not need a energy provide. Nicely, I wouldn't play WoW off of it or anything. It is made to backup my files and it is carrying out fine.
