Set-up for the most part is pretty easy. I was able to get the wireless camera up and running wireless pretty quick, but configuring the D-Link program is shotty at best. I have yet to be able to connect to the camera via IP address from a remote computer location. Viewing through the window I was able to get working seems shotty, it will be really fuzzy without color and then for a few pixels on the left hand part of the screen it will be perfect. Really not impressed with this product but overall it s a $100 theft deterrent in the shop because it looks real and has a green power button consistently on.

Pros: Quality product, sturdy, good lens

It was easy to set up (RTFM), the base is sturdy, and wall mountable with included screws. Not to mention the quality is suberb, I have it set as a fishcam online, if you want a live demo: www.ciscogeek.com:81 Lights are on from 10-10pm CDT

No problems with setup and web viewing works well. Biggest issue is the DView Cam software does not work on Win 7 64 bit. Errors on startup that tech support cannot reproduce. Would be nice to use that as you can schedule recordings and email notifications.

Ordered on 2 cameras Dec 27 promoted as 20 dollar rebates limit two per address. Filed rebate submission on Jan 9, received email Feb 17 saying it had been processed. When I ckecked, it only showed one rebate. Called and was told they should have been mailed in seperate envelopes. Apparently the people processing rebates cannot identify that there are two rebate forms, and two invoices and two unique UPC codes. Agent put me on hold and 5 minutes later told me the second one would be processed and it would take ANOTHER 3-4 weeks. I called this retailer and told them they need to manage their suppliers better. I have spent over an hour to get the 20 dollars which I rightfully qualified for. Forget rebates! buy from whoever has the lowest true price.

Good camera during the day, if you light an area they are ok. My biggest frustration is this, you have to reset them, i.e. unplug then plug them back in, once every 7-10 days. They stop

first time setting up a web camera and it worked right out of the box. using it with motion detection software on my Linux box and took only a few minutes to get it operational. Only complaint is that I can't seem to figure out how to change the host name so I can preset it to what I want.

Documentation and setup program are not clearly written. When installing to a secured d-link network using the install wizard can cause major problems if you make an error typing in information because it alters the network settings not just the camera's security settings. Only one camera can be configured at a time. Have not had time to install the second camera yet. Picture quality is fine when lighting is sufficient. No picture in a dark room. Must be near an outlet so placement is limited.

Definitely requires some help from tech support to fully install. If you are planning on viewing remotely, wireless router needs to be configured, so you better hope you have a d-link router. D-link tech support is not helpful when it comes to configuring camera to other manufactures router. Finally got camera working with support from router manufacture whom was very helpful in providing all the information I needed to finally set up the camera....koodos to the wireless manufacture that will remain nameless.

I did get the camera to work wireless without a lot of trouble BUT the D-View program is not well documented and in some cases does not work. The setup instructions forgot to mention that it needs NET framework loaded. Apparently NET framework is on the CD but gave me an error message during loading and bombed. Msg. said I needed more memory (I have 2 Gigs) or there was a corrupted file. Loading Net Fwk. from Microsoft cured this problem. Got D-View to work on one computer but not on laptop. Laptop would access camera from Explorer using IP address but D-View could not locate camera. A call to DLink support did not help. Also, directions said I would find D-View icon on start menu. It wasn't there.

I've had this camera for 3 weeks and I still haven't got it fully functional. This camera is far above the beginner level. Instructions are poor, online support is poor. I'm trying to find the time to call for tech support.

Yes this camera I find one of the best I have ever had. I have had security camera's before and had more problems trying to watch them remotely I gave up on them and sold them. This camera installs so easy, I did have to use D-link support just because I was not sure how to make it wirless. After help the other 2 I purchased were a breeze to install and have great coverage and distance. The feature I like is you can ZOOM in with this camera. Wirless cost more but it sure saves on the trouble of running wires. I am very happy with the total of 3 I just purchased.

I would say that is a pretty good system, you need to take your time and read the manual (after you print it) I upgraded the software for D view cam, also upgrade the firmware for the cameras ver. 3.0, it tends to loose the signal but it recovers very fast, I have one in the front side window recording the outside and one outside in the back under a roof, so far no problem noted except that it needs a good light for outside viewing, but for that I will get the one for outside.

Very nice camera, I presently own 2. I am on the site because I plan buying two others. Acces to the image by authentication and accessible anywhere using an iPhone application (5$). Easy to install and configure. Includes an RJ-45 port to configure and/or use. Works very well on the wireless. Zero problem fron the begining.

Easy to setup, and functional enough for the tech savy. The cameras let you pick a 2nd port to be open to assist with remote access. Setup a Nat alias on my network and can view my camera (still pic) from my blackberry.

I bought 3 in the bundle 1. Delivery - 5 (on the third day) 2. Features - 4 (no sound, no night vision) 3. Quality - 5 (picture is better than I had on any USB web-cameras ) 4. Performance - 4.5 (good on one camera, some motion delays on three connected) 5. Installation Support and guide - 3 (not covered wireless setup, D-ViewCam soft is not working properly the dotnetfx20.exe is corrupted on all 3 CDs) I had to download it and install separately before was able to install the main D-ViewCam soft. At least I knew what I am doing.

I purchased two of these to monitor my home when I am away. Install is easy - use a wired connection to setup, then unplug and go wireless. Image and color quality is good. Performance is fine for me - I can watch the pendulum on my clock swing back and forth. Only downside of this (and most) camera is that it is AC powered and thus needs to be near an outlet. So your install choices are limited. Overall, good cameras at a nice price. I am considering two more to monitor my yards thru windows.

This is probably the best camera of several I have used. It does everything as documented. The feature set is quite complete. No significant problems were found. Product came with firmware 1.01 which was used as of this writing. On the wish list would be some level of anonymous access to the picture. An admin or user login is required to see anything. I got around this limitation by using the FTP feature to send pictures once every few seconds to my web server and I provided a link from there. The email feature also works pretty well. It sends a message with headers showing the transmission info and the picture as an attachment. It would also be nice if the info such as date, time, and camera data fields could be embedded into the image. Operation is smooth and requires no special plugins or downloads. The unit is reliable on the wireless link and I have not been able to get it to hang.

I had no problems with the set up but I have had problems with it hanging up, even after upgrading the firmware. I guess you get what you pay for.

This is very good camera for the price. Since its a bit new, it took a while to wade through the instructions to get things up and running, but it does all its supposed to. Couple of things were necessary. (1) Had to upgrade to release 2.03 of the D View Cam software and also upgrade the firmware to get the emailed pictures to work. (2) Had to first print out the manual to get my footing. Found out it does work with Active X controls from Dlink on IE and does support the older WEP wireless access security. Color sensitivity is excellent but the web view is a bit slow. Excellent buy if you know what you are doing or have a friend who knows networks.
