I Price matched this and got it for 40 bucks. Its really good and always gives me a 300 speed all the time. I don't know what people rated it soo bad. It acually is really good. it doesn't disconnect for me and yaa. Althought there isn't much of a difference over dual band than single.I have this paired with a dir-825 router. |

This product does not perform as advertised. I have this device connected to a laptop which I placed in the same room as my desktop which has a DWA-552 card installed. The DIR-655 router was in the next room, about 10 feet away. The DWA-552 always connects at a rock-solid 300Mbps, while this usb version NEVER gets over 108Mbps, and usually is a lot slower (81Mbps as I type this). As an added bonus it keeps disconnecting and reconnecting about every 15 minutes. True, it's faster than the built-in |

It did improve my speed and performance by upgrading my G to N, but I also bought the DWA-140 for another computer and it seems to work better. |

Cons: Everything, can't even provide win 7 driver
Pros: None whatsoever. Comment:
Worthless POS.Do yourself a favor and stay away from d-link usb wireless adapters.Seriously. If you have a recent OS, you just won't find a driver. They are dumping rev after rev, changing chipset everytime.Once they are gone for another chipset, say goodbye to support.I'm stuck with the Rev.A1 which will never work with windows 7 because they will never provide a driver for the Rev.AI experienced the same thing with the DWA-130.I got Rev.A1 and they are now at Rev.E Total disrespect for the customers. |

I bought this for my Vista 64 bit machine and it caused me nothing but trouble. I switched it with a Netgear WNDA3100-100NAS card that I bought as a refurb that I was using on XP home machine and that solved most of my problems except that I had to give my kids admin privileges on the XP machine for the DWA-160 to connect. Conclusion, save money and time and get the referbished Netgear for $30. |

Cons: Was stuck at 162Mbps with drivers from CD (newest drivers from website brought this up). A little on the pricey side.
Pros: Can connect at 2.4Ghz or 5Ghz (assuming the router supports both), good speeds, doesn't get too hot (just slightly warm), install was pretty hassle-free, drivers available for both 32/64 bit versions of XP/Vista. Comment:
5 bars of signal strength, bouncing between 216-243Mbps at the moment at 5Ghz. Using it with a D-Link DIR-825 dual N-band router. Using the extension/cradle sitting up high on the desk about 6 ft away from the router on the other side of a wall.Never having owned a USB network adapter before (though I've used them) and having seen & heard about low signal due to the lack of a large external antenna in USB adapters, I wasn't quite sure what to expect. So far I've been quite pleased.Once using the updated drivers from D-Link's site, it connected at 300Mbps for awhile before going down to a lower speed. 162Mbps is the lowest I seem to hit now with 216/243 being common. This is all on the 5Ghz channel. I've connected at 2.4Ghz just to see if it works, and it connected at 5 bars / 300Mbps, but I didn't leave it on long enough to see if the speed dropped.Haven't had any issues with disconnects or anything. It really bugged me at first that I spent quite a bit on this thing ($80 when you can find el-cheapo non-5Ghz N's for less than half that price), but it's been so hassle-free and worked so well that I'm quite happy.Note that D-Link's forums state a few things if you want to get to 300Mbps such as AES instead of TKIP (may need WPA2 to choose AES), and 20/40Auto Channel Width set in the router. If anyone's stuck at 130Mbps you may need to do the above. |

I bought this antenna about 1.5 yrs ago with the DIR-655 extreme N wireless router. I've had other G type but got drop-outs on downloads all the time. I put this on my older XP unit and my new Vista Home Premium unit. Never had any problems. My house is large and has concrete between new and old edition. I get a solid 4 bar hook-up every time. I highly recommend D-Link for antenna and router. I have a laptop, PS3, and upstairs desktop and just added another desktop. All are at opposite ends of my house, and all have good solid hook-up. I'm on right now to buy another DWA-160. Hope this helps. |

It installed on XP Pro SP3 flawlessly. Have not measured data or file transfer rate but it is noticeably faster than my rock solid G router. Pricey but if you want wireless video be prepared to buy premium N products or tinker and tweak with bargain units. |

Nicely made product. However, it will not work within Windows XP Pro 32 bit SP3. Tried a tech call to D-Link and was informed that the drivers will any work with SP2. Tech guy wanted me to rollback to SP2. I said for this money I expect it to install and work quickly and easily and that I'll try a different brand. |

Cons: None really but if you can use PCI or PCI-E then obviously go that route.
Pros: Dual Mode, 2.4 or 5GHz...Stable Drivers, Comment:
After owning G routers (both D-Link and Linksys and one crappy Retail Plus N model) I'm happy to say that I've finally emabraced wireless as a standard. I was never impressed with wireless (atleast in my house) which is odd because I live on a very remote farm with wind and space all around me for miles (zero interference) and I always had issues with signal strength. My layout has my Satellite Internet Modem in the basement as is the Router (I know not the best scenario) and my only wireless PC upstairs off to the other side of the house. I was once accustomed to signals that drifted from 70's to 40's...now with this adapter and the D-Link DIR-825 Router I'm locked in on the 5GHz channel at 86% - 240Mbps stable. Before it was terrible to even try to watch a video (DVD File) on my NAS...now I can do it! |
I have the Dlink Xtreme router, thought same series match will be perfect. But it's worse than my old Belkin wireless G, 50% slower.Connect at 19M only, my wireless G got 54M and double the speed.
