The thermocouple for these fans is on a extended cable rather than built into the fan housing. This is undoubtedly a plus mainly because it allows you to use these as intake fans. In contrast, a fan with the sensor built into the housing will not adjust to case temperature since intake air is usually cool. The wires are all sleeved as properly and they come with rubber mounts which is constantly a nice touch. Not silent at complete speed and consequently it was unsuitable for my application. This was going into a residing space HTPC where silence is required. My situation is in a cabinet and as a result temperatures are high enough to make this fan very noticeable. It's tricky to blame this fan for performing precisely what it's supposed to do: spin faster, and louder, as temps get high. It just wouldn't perform for my setup. I opted to change this fan out for a common fan with manual speed control. The rpm boost of these fans is extremely smooth and linear. There is no annoying ramp up or spin down. The complete speed rpm is precisely as advertised on newegg.

Bought four. All work equally nicely out of the box. Extremely quiet. The rubber fan mounts are novel. I did opt to cut most of the rubber tip off the ends protruding from my situation. I virtually broke one the rubber noise-less fan mounts that come with the fan by employing a pair of pliers to pull it through a screw hole in my case.Even if it had broke, not all is lost. I would have just applied screws as an alternative. Excellent balance of air flow vs. noise vs. price.

So quiet and I like the rubber fasteners, which trigger fan to have no vibration sound. Suggest this fan. Wish they had it in the 90mm and 120mm. None New Egg rocks as usual.

Rubber stoppers make for effortless install. Keeps case nice and cool. LOUD. Have had continuous buzzing sound, on high speed due to the fact I installed it. Nonetheless, on lower speeds it is quieter. The buzzing is definitely annoying.

Very quiet. Checked how well the fan was cooling my case in BIOS Hardware settings, and it keeps my case incredibly cool, especially compared to my last complete install in the case. typically was reading about 35C inside case with method fan (and CPU fan) but have not seen it go above 33C when I installed. Case is a combo Rosewill with a 450w PSU. Adequate airflow was an concern for me, plus the dust, but as soon as I cleaned it, worked wonders. the rubber mounts are a little goofy, but i realize them now that i've installed them. These factors are quiet. I got two for my HTPC and you can\'t hear them spin. My DVD drive spins louder than these fans. I would recommend them for people who want quiet fans. None Can't beat the cost from NewEgg.

Cons: thin gauge wireno mounting screws

Pros: better than average bearing designthermal sensor on wire - can choose monitoring placementideal noise / CFM tradeoff
Comment:
This would have to be my best replacement power supply fan ever, as it has a normal form factor (unlike Arctic Cooling 3TC fans, which are only usable as exhaust fans) and you can place the thermal sensor wire wherever you'd like (unlike the 3TC).These are great for converting low end power supplies with non-thermal controlled fans to a silent, high quality fan with enough CFM to handle any level of heat a power supply should be producing internally. The only drawback is thin gauge wire inside the 3-pin sleeved cable, which can be tricky to strip when you're crimping it for replacing the fan on a power supply whose fan is fading. And yes, you should probably tie those internal wires that the assembly line idiot ran through the internal heat sinks out of the way (so common it's scary!). If the power supply's fan has completely seized, you should probably be replacing the power supply, not repairing it ;-)

Cons: pricey for an 80mm fan

Pros: quiet, good airflow, thermal controlled, looks nice, comes with rubber mounts
Comment:
Nice little fan that's quiet and has pretty good airflow at max speed. Thermal control means it only speeds up when it needs to. I bought this for use on a Thermalright HR-05-IFX chipset cooler and it works great. Black and white color scheme looks nice as well.

Cons: read summary

Pros: Quiet and moves great volume of air
Comment:
It's not really a weakness, it's 1/2 weekness, and 1/2 strenght. those rubber push pin you use to mount the fan. Weakness: If you ever wanna change fan, it might be a real pain to get them out, and you might possibly break them.Strenght: cuz it's rubber, it helps absorb the vibration from the fan and reduce noise.Overall, this thermal control fan make a nice addition to your case if you ran out of chasis fan controller on your mobo, and the fan does move good amt of air. I give it high marks on noise/air volume ratio.
