The AeroCool FP-01 5.25IN Flip Up LCD Display Fan Controller & Flash Card Reader with Front USB & eSATA is a great product. Love it. No problems to date, easy to install.

With it's half length design it won't lock into my tooless case. Also had a problem where it won't read a memory card twice without being powered off. No other issues though and I like the fact that tou can hide the display if you want.

This thing works wonderfully. The instructions are vague but it's not rocket science. Kind of like setting the clock on an aftermarket car stereo, takes a little digging but you'll get it. Temp 3 on mine doesn't work but I'm not gonna RMA the whole thing (2 weeks no fan controller? no.)

this is a nice add on to my system I really like that I was able to get a card reader and a fan controller all in one. It takes time to learn to use it as the instructions are poor at best. The LCD display is bright but if you look at the wrong angle things seemed screwy lol. Lastly the wires were packed tight so they like to do there own thing although some electrical tape and proper wire running got things looking good. PS Looks good in the case and if your like me you bought a full case so leaving the screen out is not a huge issue.

The pop-out window latch quit latching shut after the third time and now won't shut completely. The display is only clearly visible if you look at it at just the right angle. I think I would opt for a separate fan controller and card reader if I had to do it again. However, I do love the front access eSATA! That was the deal clencher. BTW - Buy some zip ties! You will need them.

The LCD display is impossible to read unless you tilt it down. and that is if you have your pc on your desk. I have a FULL tower, Put the unit in the bottom most slot and I still have to tilt it to read it. Even worse if its on the floor. you would have to BEND OVER to read it. HORRIBLE Design with the Face. Documentation was terrible at best. Doesnt help you program it very well. Beeping if i turn a fan down, Tried resetting the thresholds. Over all DO NOT BUY THIS THING! 2 Heat sensors went bad already. Glad it game with Extra. Wish I could return it.

Pretty Nifty, The Fan Alarms Have A Tendency To Go Off When The Machine Starts Up, But Its Something I Got Used To Quickly. Looks Great In My Case. Kinda Wished They Supplied Adapters For The Fan Controllers. The LED Displays Which Type Of Memory Stick You Plug Into The Unit As Well.. Like Said Before.. Wish There Was More Details For Installation..

Swapped my old computer into new case and my old card reader was built into the faceplate of the old case. To those who say why would you buy an internal card reader, why would i want to keep a portable one around when i have a tower? Reads and Writes cards, monitors three temps, controls three fans auto or manual. It does feel a bit cheap that the screen isn't motorized, but it keeps the cost down. Unlike some other fan controllers with a screen, this only takes up one drive bay, not two if you're tight on space. If you only hook up two fans, the alarm will sound, defeating its purpose of warning of a failed fan or high temp. Lots of cords! Including two extra thermistors. If good cable management is important to you this may give you some trouble. Many features including esata it's ALMOST a great value if you planned on a 20 dollar card reader and a 30 dollar fan controller plus you get temps, esata, and hey why not another usb.

Well its a good thing to have if u want to control ur fans and give a better look to ur case, but the manual is very limited and poor, there are so many wires to install and no much information.

I really am glad I bought this item. I have no problem reading my cards, and having the fan controller is a nice addition. I really like how the flip out face works. It is not only impressive for me, but when people see it, they are wondering where I got one. I highly recommend!

The flash card reader works well, and the supplied driver gives each of the 4 drive letters a unique icon describing which slot coresponds to which drive letter. No more guessing which drive letter is the SD or CF slot. SD cards insert upside-down due to sharing the slot with MMC but it works. The fan control programming instructions are lacking. I found trying to use auto mode caused things to heat up, so I leave it in manual mode with all 3 fans running close to full speed. Having a temp sensor on the CPU, GPU, and hard disk is a good way to monitor critical components. It would have been nice if the case was sealed to prevent dust from being sucked into the slots by the chassis fans. Overall I am very pleased.

I like the flip up LCD thing, it's just cool, plus it allows you to have it just one bay slot instead of two like some other LCD things like it. The card reader works and I like the extra USB and eSata port on it. And the fan and temperature monitoring is nice, I like to move the temperature probes around just to see how hot things are getting in different spots, it's pretty nice. Everything's been working since I've had it (which has been a few weeks now). The only thing I've noticed about it is the flip up LCD thing, it can seem a little flimsy especially when you're putting it back in you have to kind of lift it up a little first to slide it in, but I'm careful with it and I haven't had any problems yet.

Cons: - Very dim LCD display- LCD display is flimsy- Temp. sensors dont stick well

Pros: - Havent had a problem with reading cards- Reads the temperature wherever you put the sensors- Controlls fan speed
Comment:
I gave this 3/5 because it is great for reading memory cards of many sorts but it also isn't the best for reading the temperatures inside your setup. I found that the LCD display on mine is extremely dim, almost unreadable. I have to play around with the display to see it from the right angle to see it due to it being so dim. The LCD on mine is also very flimsy. When i flip up the LCD screen it just falls back down which is an annoyance. Overall good for reading memory cards, not so good for being a temp reader and fan controller due to the LCD screen.

Cons: Weak connections in the rear to the mainboard, be delicate! fan contoller is not setup for molex fan connectors! the sceen is not motorized it is a push and pullout type.. it feels cheap

Pros: simple, clean no trouble xp pro install, works great so far very clean and legible screen
Comment:
Good little unit, be weary it is not a motorized screen like in a car dvd system.. otherwise no complaints

Cons: Not the best quality, the black finish could be better.

Pros: Works, looks pretty good
Comment:
Not a bad looking front panel. I didn't really buy ti for the fan controller but it works. The card reader is good but i bent a few of the pins for the compact flash slot. I think it's because of faulty design because it never did this on my other card reader.

Cons: May not install in some cases (uses lower screws in the 5.25" bay)No support for 4 pin fansTemp sensors are easy to break

Pros: Much functionality in a 5.25" factor; 3 temp sensors, 3 fan sensors/controllers, esata, usb and hdd activity light
Comment:
Excellent product, although I ended up with 2 defective thermal sensors, which caused this device to alarm, since it was reporting > 80 degree temperatures. Luckily, they provide spares. The fan sensors didnt work on my case either because my antec 900 doesnt have 3pin headers that this device requires. My cpu hsf was a 4 pin one, and it doesnt work for those either. still a decent device though.

Cons: Instructions could be better. Mine broke in 2 weeks.

Pros: Good fan and temperature monitoring.
Comment:
Would be a great unit but it's quirky. Not all cards go in the same way. The instructions are not very clear. My card reader stopped functioning after only 2 weeks. Wasn't worth the cost of shipping to return it.
