The compactflash slot does not have proper guide rails, so unsurprisingly, I managed to bend pins on about the second usage. Not the best outcome, given that I bought the stupid thing in order to read compactflash cards. |
This reader supports USB 3.0 for fast data transfer, which is very good. If it really support SDXC (I don't have SDXC card to verify), that's excellent !The rails of all the slots are a tiny little bit loose. When you plugs in card, you don't have that securely insert ed feeling. I always wonder did I insert ed it properly or not.However, I did try to insert a CF card on the wrong side, I am sure I cannot push it in. So as long as you insert the card gently, it should be fine.It is questionable whether the card slots are really upside down. But the USB port is upside down. Feels really odd !Overall, I think USB 3.0 feature is very good. It out weight the odd things about this reader. Especially, most card capacity are quite large nowadays. Need fast transfer rate, or you will wait forever. I will still recommend this reader, compare to the other USB 2.0 SDHC reader, which could be more expensive and less useful.
