Uncomplicated create, recognized a 990X and 24GB G.Ability Ripjaws DDR3 1600 out of the box, no dilemma. Been operating stably for a week of heavy use with just an 850W energy supply. None. The Bigfoot network chip drivers do not assistance Windows XP 64-bit, so making use of XP64 implies adding a network card (or getting no network). The docs didn't indicate this when I bought, just thought I'd point it out.Gigabyte help by email was courteous, prompt Ƒ-day turnaround), and reasonable (no superfluous test requests) in identifying the network challenge.

A-Front Panel is a good touch with both USB3 and eSATA.B-No NF200 but 8ǞǞǞ or 16ǞǞ is far more than acceptable for gaming.C-Overclocks nicely so far but not any far better than other X58 boards and significantly less than the competing gaming boards. D-Nice heatsinks, strong layout and a cool black PCB, a lot better than the regular Gigabyte blue. The green slots are definitely diverse but who cares in a solid case.E-Creative X-FI audio is greater than most onboard options. A- BigFoot LAN controller is not 10x more quickly as GB promised on the box and was really very buggy during gaming sessions over the weekend. I feel the drivers want some function as large file transfers appear to trigger stutters. B- Anticipated improved overclocks with a 980X based on previews, not any greater than other X58 solutions, even the 赨 boards. C- Fan controls are not as robust as the red/black gaming boards with incredibly limited controls in the BIOS for the CPU fan and no genuine controls for the chassis fans.D- Audio shielding is a challenge as you can nevertheless hear pops and crackles with a very good set of headphones. Attempted a X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty card and a Omega eClaro, each of which sounded cleaner and provided a far better audio expertise.E- The board is flaky with 24GB of GSkill DDR3-1600 C7 - F3-12800CL7T2-24GBRMD. Had to get rid of 12GB for stability.F- Had problems posting with a Corsair AX1200 PS but not a Corsair HX1000.G- No double slot spacing for x16/x16 SLI, cards run hot. A - Strong board but practically nothing seriously specific in the end to justify the current value. It is designed for gaming but the E2100 LAN, Inventive audio and integrated software program is not up to par with expectations right after reading the specs and a couple of previews. B- Very good notion from Gigabyte but as they say the devil is in the specifics. The fan and computer software controls are weak compared to other gaming boards. The audio is much greater than most onboard options but shielding is a difficulty as is drop outs at higher PCIe speeds. I had to switch back to a dedicated card. The LAN sounds fantastic in theory but seems a tiny buggy and unstable in the course of massive file transfers or lengthy gaming sessions exactly where it would just drop out. Never had that problem before and it occurred several times so it was not just a weird world wide web connection. C- Demands a BIOS update and hopefully GB can fix the fan controls and maybe a driver update will repair the LAN difficulties. An update to EasyTune 6 is in order also.

I'll start by saying this is just the best 1366 Motherboard on the market if you are a Gamer. I've been waiting along time for a corporation to integrate Verified Tested Technology's in a all in 1 board.Sound- I've Attempted many various head sets from standard Left Proper channel, all the way to 7.1.Even on a Junk set of headphones it makes yours games have fantastic surround sound. To expertise the Amplifier, I pluged a typical headset in the front jack (CM HAF-X942), played a game, and then played it once more by plugging it in the back jacks. Following i practically went def...I turned it down a tiny.. I noticed a big difference, I could hear Foot steps a lot sooner, and know what Direction Gun shots came from with significantly far more accuracy all With no Distortion or pops.LAN- A lot of individuals claim this is a scam. On FPS servers I've played on for 5+ Years it dropped my Pings from 30-40 to 20-24 and the game play was much smoother. In MMORPG I now see everyone in busy places... Awso None that I can see, perhaps if you currently own a Bigfoot LAN or X-fi Sound card you will take a hit in your wallet.Or Perhaps SLI four, but then once more.. do you seriously want to use more than a Kilowatt a hour just to feed your GPUs?Also I think you would will need NF200 X2 on the board to attain this? If you are to obtain a High Finish sound card it will price you 贄-200, if you get a Massive foot LAN card its 贄. So 跌 off is only 超.99 for this Motherboard... This is not Rocket Science.I ran into no problems Installing my components, booted up with no problems. Runs almost everything fantastic. If you have the dollars this is a have to acquire.Thank You New EGG!I'm Running Window 7 Ultimate 64-bitGigabyte G1 AssassinIntel 990x CPUTwo 510 Intel SSD SATA6GB a Raid Two 2TB SATA3 Raid 24GB of Patriot Extreme DDR3 2000 Ram,Two Gigabyte GTX580 SLICool Master HAF-X 942 CaseCool Master Pro 1200Watt PSU (Saving for Third GTX580)

Raid seems to be working 100% with the SATA 3 SSD from Plextor. Only has ƒ) SATA 3 connectors. The remaining are all SATA 2 only. Totally LAME! Tends to make NO SENSE!! Due to the fact SATA 3 is backward compatable, why the heck did they not put largely SATA three connectors? Inexcusable!!No luck finding the External SATA 3 connector to function. I have Ɠ) External SATA tough drives which as recognized by the front panel USB/eSATA connector. That connector accepts a USB connection or eSATA. The difficult drives only work with the USB connection of that hybrid USB/eSATA connector. No idea why I can't get the eSATA operating. I also had to get rid of Windows Internet Explorer Release Candidate 9. and go back to 8.. 9. Release Candidate had difficulties with just about every single site I attempted to load, horrible. Can't think it is regarded release candidate. I don't drink coffee, not certain whey so numerous people drink that garbage.

Why include Sata 3 help if you can only use ƒ) Sata three devices? Terrible! Will update.

I HAVE, DO and will create custom computer systems for over 13 years. I have carried out the study and I like this board for these reasons.I have built the Rampage III Intense not substantially to get amazed about just like N/A stated (NO NF200 chip) so your stuck with a 16 16x16 16x8x8 8x8x8x8 (Do the investigation John and transform your tech level please.) So the onboard audio and and great LAN are 1. The next is ASUS demands to kick it up a notch so I say Go for it Gigabyte old pal. thats two. Final but not least I was acquiring Quite tired of the colour scheme. ( bet XFX don't like the option although) thats 3. Who knows till I get the technique accomplished which requires me about 1-five weeks (yes 1-five). The title says it. WE are suppose to assist each other and the men and women who make the solution.

-Audio is just phenomenal, not only does it have an amp for the front panel, but each output on the backpanel also has an amplifier, made my speakers sound genuine, bass comes to life.-Lan is good compared to my boards with realtek i don't have any lag, and my in game ping stays low.-This board can overclock, other than the 7mhz blck enhance from the button, i got my cpu to its max OC on air.-My GPUs in SLI can ultimately breathe, and no NF200 indicates no added latency. -The BIOS is solid, no troubles-the large atx-xl style allows room to replace and take away elements extremely simply. -The lights are quite cool-No added add on card, this is really good for those that know that an addon card wastes PCI-E lanes that your GPUs can use, also getting on the board itself suggests it gets cleaner energy and is in a a lot more direct route to all the board's resources. -Large ATX-XL, not too a great deal of a situation, but for some it is, there is a case compatibility list which was helpful. -It is costly, but you pay $$ for the best, and this is the highest quality. -I OC as well and this board has no onboard buttons, but of course there is no will need for them if you only game, but it would have been a nice touch. All in all this board is for gamers, i personally like the color scheme, the heatsinks are a bit of overkill, but gigabyte has seriously delivered a strong major of the line gaming motherboard. I employed to be an asus only form of dude, but now I assume gigabyte has raised the bar, and if you ask everyone who knows something gigabyte truly does x58 platform the highest quality.

The Killer Nic is NOT software program. Its a complete hardware bypass of the network stack. Not to mention its personal ram for it. This is no 'office' network. Its meant for pure gaming and to lower lag. No "software" remedy is going to evaluate. Is it a Huge distinction? No. But to gamers, an edge is an edge. As well as the onboard XFi and amps. The improved Power. This board has some rather unique and wonderful capabilities. The X-FI chip on board eliminates having to use up a PCIE slot for audio (for those that hate common onboard audio) and those expense 100-200 themselves. Similar with the killer chip. No pcie slot to waste. Only downside to this board was the lack of an N200 chip. Relying on the X58 for the PCIE lanes. This means no 4way SLI. And 3way SLI is at 8xǞxǞx. Personally I was arranging on operating 2 way SLI with a 3rd card devoted to Physx. Though if I do that, its at 8x8x8x. Other than that, this board is loaded with goodness. Been waiting on this board for a even though.3way SLI. Onboard Creative Labs X-Fi audio. Killer Nic. USB three. and Sata III. Preceding boards that could handle the SLI configurations I wanted didnt have the USB3 or Sata III. Preping for my new gaming rig appropriate now and this is the mobo of selection. Sandy bridge is good for low level gaming, but till the enthusiast chips come out in Q3, X58 is nevertheless king.

Bios is much easier to navigate and OC. All drives recognized quickly. Set profile 1 and mem auto set to correct speed. 12Gig G-Ability 2000 ş- Killer has issues. I get a random static noise in games and music. 1 of my USB 3. ports quit operating. I rated this 3 eggs since of the price to performance is not where it need to be. The troubles i have had with the audio/network and USB 3. failure. There is also a long delay for the duration of boot up As with any new product there will be bugs. I was not expecting this a lot of as it is Gigabytes Flagship board. It is to early to inform what is causing all my issues. It could be incompatibility among hardware or drivers or all the above. Wont know till the board has been out for awhile and new drivers are developed. I do know considering that I quit using SB X-FI merchandise I have had allot much less gaming problems. I discovered a lot of gaming matters and crashes are brought on by incompatibility with audio drivers. Overall I assume this is a 跾 board not a 躔+ board. The large marketing was the killer chip and the X-FI built in to the board and justifies the price as if you had been to but these products separate. That is all wonderful if they function! The sound is great, it is good to be in a position to get pleasure from the very same sound either from the back or from your front panel with the need for an add on card. Nevertheless learning the BigFoot working, but so far so excellent. Operating a 980Xʄ.two, 580's in SLI, AX1200 and this baby just hums. Stop asking if you should and just get it.

Board may well have been good. IF it posted. Constructed my new dual loop watercooled 580GTX SLi method about this board. With all of the pieces in place, this board wouldn't post. It wouldn't even come up with speaker error codes. Immediately after extensive testing, replacing and changing out several parts, which includes the my silverstone 1500w PSU, I got a cheaper replacement board from a nearby retailer and no troubles at all. I've given that built my system about the eVGA X58 board, with drastically much less attributes than I would have *supposedly* gotten from this board, but it runs quite smoothly. I have constructed many systems with gear that I have bought from Newegg, but I will in no way obtain from them once more. AND YES, it is 16X1 and 16X2 slots So I don't know why you are saying that nonsense!!! Both the cards are widely spaced and each are on 16X slots. Ok, I am ordering this board next week to replace my Classified three (Marvell 9128 limitations for RAID volumes on SATAIII controller). Each and every tech business focuses on convergence, and Gigabyte races ahead of the pack with onboard NIC and Inventive sound. Look for these attributes in Quite a few future motherboards. Can't say enough about this board. My preferred features: Marvell 9182 controller, 5 PWM fan connectors, onboard NIC and Inventive sound, and the fact it runs newest Intel RAID ROM, AHCI ROM, and PXE ROM. No cons.....at all! If there is 1 when I get the board, I'll be initial to tell you. Ok Health Nut MD...one particular review is adequate. Why are there not all SATAIII ports? Due to the fact Intel does not have a SATAIII controller out however... An all Marvell controller on a motherboard is plain dumb. Marvell controller does not assistance TRIM or Garbage Collecting on SSDs, Intel does... Be happy you have Intel ports bud.

This is what i have wanted, I had an asus rampage 3 extreme, this has way more USB ports, the 9182 marvell controllerlets my 256gb c300 get a 42000 in computer mark vantage HDD score, old 9128 marvell netted me a 34000 score. I will soon have two vertex three in raid . Appears a lot more stable then my old rampage. The sound is wonderful and the bigfoot nic appears to be operating fine. The only con is that windows 7 sticks on the opening welcome screen when booting for about 10 seconds, I have no idea why. On other mobos following the windows logo forms it then would go to the welcome screen for like 1ቦth of a second and then gos proper into windows. My c300 does thisnot sure about my vertex 1. For the like of giod,Wellness Nut MD , no X-58 boards have native sata 6!Please quit more than reviewing this board and giving it 3 eggs you are throwing the curve off. Each and every time you give it a negative score I will come back and give it 5 eggs, thats just the sort of guy I am.Is any individual Positive the marvell 9182 doesnt do trim OR garbage collection? This seems odd for a next gen controller.I didnt want to get Sandy Bridge just for native sata 6, as it is a non enthusiast platform(limited pci-e lanes). This board is my answer to hopefully be able to comprehend sandforce 2182's potential.

Hey, I am organizing to purchase this motherboard. I would like to use 24 GB of Corsair Dominator 1600. In looking the internet, I have only noticed builds with this motherboard making use of 12GB OD Corsair Extreames and 12GB of Kingston (I think) Hyper X. Could everyone tell me if the Dominators will perform? Or at least tell me what would work ideal with this board. 24Gb would be greater but will go to 12Gb, and would like to do as tiny bios changing as doable. Thank you.
