Cons: Maybe ASUS could pack a even faster quad core?

Pros: Geforece GTX 660 graphics, 1080p screen, USB3.0 ports
Comment:
This IS a nice laptop for the price. With the GTX660, I could play the games that I can on my desktop with a AMD HD 7870, and its relatively portable as well. The battery life is a bit on the low side, but this is expected because this is a full power quad core with high end graphics.Anyone who wants a gaming laptop or desktop replacement should give this baby a try.

Cons: heavy, no windows disk

Pros: fast, runs any game no problem, good quality construction
Comment:
runs great, added a samsung 830 ssd and 16 gigs of corsair ram. Ended up buying a copy of widows 8 and installing. cd key did not work after reloading windows, should have made back up disk, my fault.

Cons: Heavy, and short battery life if gaming.

Pros: Fast, quiet, large screen.
Comment:
This laptop is a nice powerful unit.I added two sticks of ram to upgrade to 16 GB, and a solid state hard drive.(70377 Corsair Vengenance CMSX4GX3M1A1600C9 4GB DDR3-1600 SODIMM CL-9-9-9-24 1.5V Memory) (60446 Crucial M4 Micron C400 SSD 256GB 2.5IN Solid State Disk Flash Drive SATA3 6Gbps)One screw to access the main bottom panel. This gives you access to two ram slots (on this model they are empty), and both hard drive bays.I have no problem with the battery life as I bought it as a portable desktop. This starts REALLY fast with an SSD.Would buy again.

Cons: - no SSD. IMHO, an SSD is an absolute must for *any* computer. I had a great deal on this laptop so that’s why I went without the SSD as I knew that I could add a bigger one for much cheaper than the other G75 models that have an SSD. That said, I’m pleasantly surprised by the performance that I get with the HDD (it’s a 7200rpm after all) so that’s why I’m patiently waiting for the right SSD deal.- true HD resolution (1920x1080 instead of 1920x1200). I’m using this computer for business as well so the extra 120 vertical pixels would have been really handy when editing. However, 1920x1200 laptops are quite rare and none had the performance characteristics that I was looking for so I had to make do with the G75’s true HD resolution.- insensitive keyboard. I have to tap really hard on the keys if I want to make sure that I don't have typos. This is very disappointing as I can type very fast with a sensitive and this keyboard is slowing me down.- speaker facing down. Some may argue that you’ll typically play games with headsets. That’s true. Nonetheless, there are many situations where you’d want to use the built-in speaker (like watching a video on YouTube) where the sound is bad enough that you have crank the volume all the way up.- heavy & large means that you need a large computer bag. I knew it when I bought it, but I’m mentioning it for those who may not realize what buying a 17” means.- low frame rate of built-in camera. I have not used it much and thus I have not tried to see if there are tweaks that I could use. But out of the box, it does not take much movement for the image to blur.- no BluRay but that was not a deal breaker for me, but I'm mentioning as a negative as it might be for someone else.- I wish computer manufacturers would give us the original Windows DVD so that we can reinstall a bare and clean OS. I guess they're aiming at the mass where people are uneasy installing OSes but for people like me, it's a bit of a pain.

Pros: - Asus quality. The laptop looks great. It feels rock solid.- Amazing performance (CPU + Video card). I have not played a game that this laptop could not run with maximum details.- Great matte screen. The colors are quite crisp and you don’t get the glare that you get with non-matte screens.- sturdy case. Sometimes, I’d like to throw this laptop against the wall to see how much damaged it would do! :-)- keyboard that feels robust. It feels like even if you have the hands of a construction worker, the keys will always work!- numpad. You’re just happy that it’s there when you least expect needing it.- keyboard can be lit. Very useful at night. My 60 yo dad is jealous :-)- special keys logically placed (del, home, pgup, pgdn, end, etc). I can find them without looking or thinking.- USB 3.0 ports.- room for two drives. It was a “must” for me; SSD for speed, and HDD for storage.- excellent cooling air flow. I kid you not, this laptop can be sitting on my thighs for hours and I will not feel heat whatsoever. I’ve never had a laptop before that would not burn my thighs. Because of the excellent air flow, the fan hardly does any work which makes for a super quiet laptop.
Comment:
I’ve had this laptop for about 3 months now. All around, this is an amazing laptop. I think you can hardly go wrong with it. Personally, I'm super happy with my purchase. I have to add that NCIX has made this a very pleasant experience (as usual).I think that the built-in speaker and the insensitive keyboard are the two biggest weaknesses of this laptop though (see the cons for more details).

Cons: None yet.

Pros: Awesome cooling setup means fans never get loud.Big screen, fast performance.
Comment:
Playing a game you can barely hear the fans, fan filters are a nice touch.Easily upgraded with only one screw to remove to get in the back. 2 free ram slots so if you want to go up to 16gb and run a ram drive its good to go.

Comment:
I had originally wanted to purchase the G75 that came with the SSD, 16GB of RAM, and a Blu-Ray drive. But being as it was out of stock and I wouldn't use a Blu-Ray drive, and can easily upgrade this, I purchased this model along with a few upgrades and very glad I did.The Windows install it comes with isn't too bad on bloatware, but does have a lot of useless stuff installed. The Bing Bar and McAfee are two negatives. But overall, compared to what you get with some other manufacturers, it's much more acceptable.I did two upgrades which ALL owners of this laptop should do: Added a Crucial M4 256GB SSD and 2x4GB Corsair Vengeance RAM. Upgrading this laptop is so easy, with the single panel removal. Factory RAM is under the keyboard, so there are two open slots on the bottom. Had no issues after the upgrade.I did do a Bios update  to 210, since it was recently released. I installed Windows from a disc I own, used the serial on the bottom, no problems there. Downloaded the drivers from Asus (except graphic driver from nVidia), installed, no issues. The Asus site does give some drivers that may not be needed depending on the model you own. Unsure why the WiMAX driver. I would recommend checking out the factory install programs first to see which you like and which you won't want to re-install before the upgrade and clean install. I'd also recommend doing the back-up of the OS, as no back-up discs are included.Windows Scores after the upgrade:Processor 7.6 Memory 7.6 Graphics 7.4 Gaming 7.4 Storage 7.9 Very close to my desktop PC, just .2 behind in most categories. Would make a great desktop gaming PC replacement.I was looking between this and the MSI GT70. What really sold me on the Asus was the looks. It's gorgeous. The soft touch material looks and feels great. Beefy hinges. Sexy, sleek design. Amazing cooling that doesn't get that hot. Keyboard is above average for a laptop. Feels very rugged and solid. Very clean. The MSI on the other hand looks very ghetto with it's flashy lights, uninspired design, lackluster cooling, and logo's pasted everywhere. Asus really makes a classy looking notebook. So far I've been very happy with both it's looks and performance. By adding the SSD and RAM myself I saved about $250 over the model that comes with them. I would recommend these upgrades to everyone. Asus really knows how design a beautiful product that performs great. Other manufacturers need to learn to do this.

Cons: Heavy, Doesn't come with mouse or keyboard

Pros: Backlit keyboard, HUGE SCREEN, Desktop Replacement
Comment:
THis laptop has been performing beyond my expectations for the few days that I have had it so far. It's meant to be a desktop replacement, so if you are dragging this around make sure you have a good backpack or something to carry it.I was very dissapointed that it did not come with the mouse or backpack like the other Republic of Gamers models, and probably would have changed my decision of purchasing this product if I had known that it did not come with either. My review is based purely on this fact. 5/5 for the actual product, but 3/5 for NCIX.
