Nothing really special I can say about this product as most DVD burners these days are about the same. This writer does its job well, and definitely something to consider if you're looking for an IDE burner. Overall, it's quiet though can start getting a little loud when burning at max speed (common amongst burners anyway). |

For some reason I always include an IDE LG DVD Writer in every system I build. Have done so for over a decade, and I really don't know why. Probably because they've never failed me, and do everything they're advertised to. |

Well, what more can be said about this product. It's a 22x16x22 dual-layered black DVD burner that performs flawlessly. Yes, it's IDE and that's a good thing because it leaves an open SATA port for a hard drive. It's also got a nice black face plate and opens and closes quickly too. |

DVD burners have become rather anonymous - nearly like the now gone floppy drives. True, there are specs to consider but really, if it works and is inexpensive - what is there to worry about. I bought mine under $30. If it dies a few years from now...toss and replace. |

This drive was put in a PC for a friend. He had an older DVD burner and needed replacing. He was blown away with how quick DVDs can be burned. But I guess any new one will be much quicker then one even 3 or 4 years old. |

A DVD drive that worked after installation. Runs pretty quiet at decent speeds. No complaints at all. Came with a new version of Nero for all burning needs. I would buy this again if I had to build another rig some time soon. |

Well, I took NCIX reviews into account before buying it and I walked over my old feeling over LG drives... to find out it's still there. It's a noisy drive... they always been noisy and they seem that they will always be noisy...You can buy another drive way more silent for the same price, so check elsewhere. |

The first one I received was a dud out of the box. It would burn CD's but not DVD's. I sent it back to NCIX via rma process and had another shipped out. It burned cd's also but failed to burn dvd's after a few times. Obviously you get what you pay for. Its too bad they didnt have the Pioneer DVDRW in stock as that is the brand I prefer. I never wanted to buy and LG but I had to due to stock of the Pioneer being out and my time frame. |

This is a great burner for upgrading those legacy PCs, especially if you got it on sale! Excellent for people who are on a budget. |
I just kind of choose this drive randomly without putting much research into it and so far it's been reliable and reaches it's rated speeds. No complaints.
