Cons: Button placement. Ugly green button.

Pros: Cheap. Works out of the box with XBMC.
Comment:
I've purchased a few MCE remotes before for use with XBMC and have had great success. This is no exception. It works out of the box with XBMC (both with a manual install on Debian and with xbmc-live/xbmcbuntu).Compared to my pcusa remote (sku 25972, not currently available) this remote has a poorer button placement. Several of the buttons I use frequently in XBMC cannot be located easily by feel alone and/or are awkward to reach.Green button is pretty ugly.

Cons: Button placement is a little awkward

Pros: Works great, true MCE Remote, affordable
Comment:
I had a different MCE remote before this one, this is the one I ordered for a new HTPC and I was so impressed I've already ordered a second one. The button placements leave something to be desired, but other than that little failing I'm very pleased with this MCE remote.

Cons: None so far.

Pros: Works out of the box.Does what it's supposed to.Looks good.
Comment:
Using this small remote to navigate a HTPC running XBMC. Some of buttons launch windows MCE automtically, but the basic functionality works without any configuration in XBMC. It may be possible to remap those other buttons for added functionality in XBMC, but I havn't looked into it yet.

Cons: None for under $30

Pros: WorksDecent rangeAffordableWin7 compatible
Comment:
This is a basic MCE remote that works with Windows 7 x64. The shape is a little awkward. My favourite feature is the ability to put the system to sleep and wake it up.

Pros: Plug and Play, Works great with Win 7 Ultimate
Comment:
Worked right out of the box. Just plug in the IR receiver and MCE automatically pops up. Very responsive and flows through the categories without a problem. Great addition to any HTPC.

Cons: No exit button

Pros: Works well with Win7 MCE
Comment:
This remote is a very nice compliment to a MCE-based HTPC. I use mine with Windows 7 (zero compatibility issues, by the way) - using a well-modded Media Browsser plug-in for MCE, and the remote bats nary an eyelash as it effortlessly navigates through my libraries. It is comfortable to hold, the build quality feels good, and has already been dropped a couple of times by my 2-year-old without any detrimental repercussions. If there was one feature I wish the remote had, it would be an exit button for MCE, so that I could use the remote to return to Windows, rather than having to use my wireless keyboard/mouse to do it. It's a minor quibble though, so overall, this remote gets full marks from me.

Cons: Still pretty cheap feeling, but the price reflects it.

Pros: Best looking MCE remote. Works with 7 and Vista
Comment:
Overall, probably the best option for a MCE remote, especially considering the price. A pain to set up if you aren't using MCE, but it will work with other software (xbmc).Overall worth it for the price.

Cons: -NO IR blasters or plug for one-Not backlit

Pros: +Remote+Small receiver
Comment:
Got this since I wanted a remote for watching DVD's/Bluray and it does that well, but the lack of IR blasters or even a port for them suck for MCE use. This remote also makes my MCE machine operate so I had to hide its receiver and use my WinTV remote for that computer and the MCE 2005 remote with my Vista system since its easier to use I find.If you do not need IR Blasters, or blacklit keys, get this.

Cons: -No backlight

Pros: -Price-Works with Windows 7 RC1-All the MCE regular buttons + some
Comment:
I like the remote control, it's great for the price and has all the functionality that the MCE remotes have + some extra buttons like "ZOOM", and the best part it worked with Windows 7 RC1 out the box.Just wish they had added a backlight to the remote control.

Cons: One small gripe is that the Record button is pushed in while all the other buttons are raised up much higher. Must be a defect in my particular unit but the Record button still works fine and I guess in the dark it will be easier to find that button. LOL

Pros: Works perfectly, no drivers required! Much more feature-rich and functional than the remote that came with my TV tuner.
Comment:
Excellent remote for an HTPC using Vista Home Premium! Plugged in the receiver and that's it! Vista supplied the drivers and it worked perfectly out of the box. My VisionTek ATI 650 TV tuner came with a remote but not all the buttons worked with Windows Media Center (most did) and, most importantly, there was no button on the VisionTek ATI tuner to actually open up Windows Media Center (had to use the mouse). This remote solves all those issues. Going to buy another one of these remotes for a friend's build. Have read online that this remote also works with Windows 7 Beta's so it should be future-proof as well. This review was modfied by poster @ 04-24-09 02:07 PM
