Operates great. Good way to add a monitor for โ (shell-shocker). Came with DVI adapter. Operates great along side two other monitors attached to ATI 4670. This one was driving an older 17" 1280x1024 on analog VGA. It could do video, though it was choppy. Nonetheless, significantly greater than I anticipated. I'll largely use this to keep e-mail / pdfs, status programs and gadgets on. Want the issue came with a quick DVI - Male VGA cable so I could connect it to a monitor with out a extended cable. They need to also add a way to hang it off the back of a monitor from a vga mount. A single hole on a thin outcropping of plastic would do. If they can produce, market, and package this factor for โ, why doesn't my monitor have a USB port on the back? The hardware inside has to cost ษ or less, and they could get rid of the connector. It seems that all LCD monitors should be in a position to contain this circuitry and plug straight into a computer's USB port. With USB three. speeds video need to be fairly possible.

Does what it claims (until mine failed). Reasonably (comparatively) limited resolution, lackluster functionality compared to...(see under) This died, and was resurrected in the kind of the HIS Multi-View II, which is considerably -- much -- superior; higher-resolution, superior-performing (fully-watchable 1080P video). I consider the Multi-View II is just 1 hardware generation forward. (I can't envision why a person could choose this over the Multi-View II...) Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for your experience. The GUC2020DW6 can support 1080P as properly 񢈀x1080). Please really feel totally free to make contact with our client help at 1-866-946-4327 or e-mail us: assistance@iogear.com. We will be glad to assist you and procedure an RMA for you. Tip: IOGEAR just launched GUC2025H (USB to HDMI adapter). It can help each audio and video in 1 single HDMI cable.

Small form issue, affordable price, fantastic performance as extended as you don't go complete-screen on the video. SUPER content with this purchase. Drivers on the CD and IOGear web page don't help x64 Win7. Contacted tech help at IOGear, they mentioned that drivers will be out 'in the future'. Alpha drivers are accessible on the displaylink dot com site that operate just fine w/ Win7. The other reviewers are appropriate that as extended as you don't go full-screen with video, you'll be OK. I looked long and difficult ahead of settling on this piece of equipment. The box operating this is beefy (Core 2 Quad w/ 8 GB of RAM). I'm extremely delighted operating 3 monitors at 1280x1024 ƒ off the video card, 1 off the USB-DVI adapter). If you use the CD or the drivers on the IOGear site they will fail to set up and say that the operating method is unsupported. The driver you will need is "DisplayLink-Win7-alpha2-20313" or newer from the displaylink dot com internet site.

Works good for my setup: A duel boot macbook pro with Vista 64 and the mac OS. Works fantastic along my already current 24" LCD. I love how substantially space I have to perform with now. Definitly not for video's or games. Mac drivers don't come on CD. Parts of Other graphically intensive applications don't function ideally either (see beneath) Functions excellent when run by way of my USB hub, which is fantastic contemplating my laptop is constantly on the go. This is excellent for everyday use, meaning non-graphically intensive programs. Items like Photoshop and Maya don't run nicely with this adapter, but added windows generated from mentioned applications feel correct at house right here. Its extremely encouraged you use the updated drivers on IOGear's internet site, as the out of the box drivers exactly where a bit shaky for me. All in all, If your looking for a fantastic cross OS adapter, this is absolutely your solution.

After reading another overview right here, I identified the beta drivers so I can use the device on a Win7 x64 machine. Functions quite well, doesn't support portrait mode, but that is a minor situation - This is an challenge with the beta drivers for Win7. IOGear support rep orginally was not quite beneficial indicating there was no drivers for x64, follow up reply to the previous assessment helped a fantastic deal obtaining me pointed to there x64 drivers. When contacting them for details on new drivers my e-mail was ignored. - Not confident if this was an non-replyable email address, but that didn't assist The hardware performs effectively, and the beta drivers internet site by way of the display hyperlink application appears to be effectively run. Overall I'm satisfied with the device, but IOGear help channels presented issues.

Easiest way to add one other show. Crisp, clear picture, not full HD but gets the job accomplished for most monitors. Drop in the CD, a single reboot, and that's it. Performs fine in Vista. Appears finicky when it comes to video playback, but you shouldn't anticipate to watch films with this anyways. On the other hand, since it seems conceivable this could be used by laptop customers giving presentations, it might grow to be an situation. 1 of the few external video cards with DVI as opposed to VGA. Worth the premium? Not confident. All in all a handy tiny device. Would be killer to actually have 6 of them hooked up, just to see it :)

Tiny. USB Powered. DVI. Drop dead easy set up. The driver also permits for rotation of the show in either path and upside down must you require it. This feature (rotation) was not listed anyplace and I was crossing my fingers that it would present that functionality, so I am like it here in this evaluation to alleviate any issues for future buyers. The use this feature, there is an icon in the program tray that makes it possible for config adjustments on the fly. I only have 4 USB ports on this machine. I have this attached to my corporate supplied little kind element desktop. I required some additional screen true estate and this fit the bill. I will be adding yet another display (my third) and set it up in portrait mode for previewing net pages as they are constructed.

Extremely easy setupWonderful price tag for adding a different monitorJust the solution I was searching for None, however. Some may possibly say that total screen video isn't wonderful, but who cares. This is an more monitor, so just play video on your mail screen running off the internal video card. I have a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop sitting on a docking station. My docking station provides a DVI and a VGA port, each of which are occupied by 20" monitors. I actually wanted to add a 3rd monitor, and this was the perfect option. It performs exactly as it need to. I have had no concerns with dragging open windows in between the 3 monitors. Maximizing a window fills the monitor plugged into the Iogear just as it ought to. The image is crisp and is just as fantastic as the monitor employing the internal DVI port. The monitor working with the internal VGA is obviously the worst image of the bunch. This product has a max resolution of 1600 x 1200 which is fantastic for up to about a 20" monitor. A bigger monitor would demand a different external video adapter with larger resolution.

Merely place, it functions great! Installed on two laptops to test (HP dv8000 & Dell D830 & Custom Tower [all parts from Newegg] - All XP Pro SP3 32 bit). Followed straightforward set up directions on each laptops. No reboot expected on either laptop.Plugged it in to each and every and no fireworks, so satisfied currently. Tested it out on a DVI 1680x1050 22" samsung 226BW)Now operating it full time on a Dell 19" @ 1280X1024, connected to the Dell D830 @ perform, but with the current cost of 22" LCD's, I wished to cater for prospective update. Virtual screen driver hardly uses any CPU at all, even when testing playing HQ clips in fullscreen mode from youtube. Not a con, but IOGear don't have a model that supports 1920x1200 but. Was the greatest priced model that supported <= 1680X1050 with the least poor testimonials (after trawling forums). Gets marginally warm, not even a vague concern, just don't cover it up with papers.Showed our network admin how uncomplicated it was, and now he is utilizing it to give a 2nd monitor to people today who want it without having getting & putting in low profile dual VGA / DVI cards.Newegg rocks the celebration. Finding another for property.Very content with it and possessing 3 screens to use & play with for occasional gaming, graphics & lots of software program improvement @ property & work ... no gaming at work although.

I necessary a basic way to add a third monitor to my current setup. This item was advertised as a uncomplicated way to do just that. It operates great. The software program set up was quick and painless. Immediately after that, I plugged every little thing in and the third monitor worked proper away. It was that effortless. As a bonus, the quality of the third monitor's display is substantially better than I was led to count on by some other critiques. For "everyday" utilizes -- in my situation, internet development -- it operates wonderful. The device does utilize some method resources to do its magic. On my machine that means roughly -two% CPU on typical, with spikes up to 25% in high-motion circumstances. Memory usage sits at a continuous 26,848K on my machine. The product arrived 50 hours following I placed my order (even with the least expensive shipping alternative), and it functions exactly as I had hoped. I'm a content camper.

I think you have to load the driver very first prior to it will operate, not certain about that as this was not utilized on a fresh install. No Ubuntu Drivers that I am aware of. I bought this to use with my Lenovo Laptop and HP 2509m monitor, I find it to work incredibly nicely. Would suggest it to everyone.

This video card was literally plug and play on my W7 ultimate technique. Configuration occurred automatically, and took slightly much less than a minute. Soon after that, my new monitor came to life.I am currently making use of this to power a third monitor for my laptop. Integration with my OS was seamless.3D CAD operates better than expected, although I would not recommend for advanced CADers.DVI to VGA adapter was included with card. Watching videos in 1920x1080 on the monitor powered by this card maxes out my dual two.2gHz processor, while viewing on monitors powered by my internal card runs at ㅠ%.Occasional lag when moving windows to the monitor powered by this card.

Functions fine at complete 1600x1200, portable, built-in support for rotation. At the moment only way (I'm conscious) of adding digital vid. to a laptop. If it were less-high priced, I'd likely purchase more-than-1. POWER: make Sure item is receiving ample amperage; look at plugging into a powered hub, and substituting superior USB cable than what comes with it. Else, it flakes-out.Also, newest driver nonetheless has Chinese (or some non-English) text.It would actually be preferable to have this as a Computer card (rather than USB). Or, have this but also have a price-successful Computer card version that could support far better efficiency. BE CLEAR ON WHAT THIS IS: It is a *wonderful* addition to any method you want to easily add a monitor, but it does *NOT* do almost everything an internal card does. USB bandwidth won't do complete-res./full-screen/full-rate video (it's just not doable, and not a fault of this device), and there's no 3D acceleration. But for adding digital video to a laptop (and you shouldn't be employing something but),

This unit is very compact, quite straightforward to install, and I have seasoned no issues at the time. There is no detectable delay in the graphics. I am able to play YouTube videos with no difference in quality than on my internal graphics card. I was even able to play a 480p trailer from apple's website on the 3rd monitor. It's excellent becoming able to keep my Outlook open all the time. I would surely recommend this to coders or these in technical assistance. Supports up to 1600 x 1200 resolution. I use this for work exactly where my monitors only support 1280 x 1024, but my monitors at property are a pair of wide screens with 1680 x 1050 resolution. Looks like using it at house with a third monitor of the same resolution is out of the question. A wonderful product. Does its job.

No complaints, it works as advertised. It supplies choices otherwise not obtainable for laptop and netbook owners. Value seems is a touch high. Not unreasonably so but I paid regular cost (์+) and it just seems about บ-15 also high. It would be great if you could setup distinct resolutions; a single for the output device and a different for the device connected to this external card. I bought this for my wife to run video presentations from a netbook and output them to good large screen monitors at tiny trade show like events or for her photography organization. It's going to function properly and the truth that I can output to as numerous as six monitors this way is good, assuming I had that a lot of readily available USB ports.
