I decided to try this card even though i had never heard of the brand and was nicely suprised that it worked right out of the box with no trouble at all.it grabbed my customers wireless modem at the other end of home which is huge and holds a steady 5 bar signal.i'm totally satified with this item and would recommend to anyone.

Been quite happy with 3 of these now, needed for low profile HP machines. Did not know the Hiro name, but they work as well or better than generic brand cards (full size) I have bought before.

The card itself is good. Makesure you match the profile bracket with your system. Lowprofile vs regular. The new OS I got needed to have the driver loaded manually, but other than that setback, this card WAN card ROCKS!

I'm in the basement of an old building and I get great reception with this card. It worked the first time and has worked well since the first day. No problems

I had to trim the top of the bracket off in order for it to fit in the PCI slot. Now it wobbles because there is no upper support. The card seems to have problems intermittently, and I suspect that this is due to heat. It works well enough that I don't think returning it is worth the trouble.

I am giving this a 5 star rating because it simply went in and worked. Usually there is a hiccup somewhere. A good strong signal and no hassle install at el cheapo price. I bought one low profile and one regular height (there the same except for the mounting bracket). They both were truly plug and play.

Only problem was that I had to snip off a corner of the mounting flange to get it fit in my Systemax. That took about 10 seconds. Installed the program, then put put the wireless in place and it ran immediately and with surprisingly good signal strength. Great buy considering the prices of some of the others!

I have an old XP machine with onboard sound card that finally stopped working and I needed a low cost replacement. This card wasn't the lowest price out there, but the others had poor reviews as for getting them to work. Absolutley zero problems getting this card working, and since thid PC is in the basement, so the external cabled antenna was a plus to get a good signal. The sound quality is more than I need, and much better than the onboard sound card,

Could not fully insert the card into the PCI slot because it was improperly connected to the low profile bracket. Even if you bent the bracket, the tapered bottom end prevented seating the card. Do not purchase this card.

The only other low profile wireless adapter I could find was $80. This is a great price and works amazing with no problems.

I orginally got the Engenius extended range network adapter because of the added range. I was worried becuase I had my router in the basement (room right below) and my desktop was above. Well, right out of the box it didn't work! It picked up basically no signal...even though it was right below! So I got the Hiro and wow right away it worked flawlessly! The card is a little short so you have to mess with it a bit (I just bent it straight so it could fit in my PCI slot). Once it was in, it picked up a 100% signal!! I have had it for a little less than a week and have had no problems with it at all. I have Win XP SP3 on an emachine. Don't delay...but this one now!!

This unit was installed in my desktop unit located in my basement on the opposite end of my house from my Linksys router. It took me 10 minutes to install and 5 minutes ti have it operational. The distance from the router is approximately 80 feet with a extremely strong signal strength. I will recommend this unit to all my friends.

Like other reviewers, I had a slim case in a PC that I used for a vacation cabin home pc, stuck up by the tv in an entertainment cabinet. Try finding a wireless card for that case! This works great, and you can place the antenna in a better location if necessary. My configuration has me fairly close to my access port, so the standard antenna works great. Good performance, effortless configuration, and all-in-all pretty flawless for under $30. I recommend this one if you have the need.

I just received a new slim space-saving DELL INSPIRON 530s desktop. I needed a low-profile wireless PCI network adapter that was compatible with Windows Vista. I soon discovered this wasnt going to be as easy as I had thought. At the time DELL was sold out so I sought to find one online. While several low-profile adapters are to be found, few bother to mention that theyre compatible with Vista. Finally I just ordered the HIRO low-profile wireless adapter and was shocked to have it in only 2 days! They are super fast! I loaded the software and put the adapter in and it worked perfectly with no problems! This is a GREAT adapter. I get a super good signal even though my computer is 150+ feet from the router and the signal must go through aluminum siding and a solid brick wall! Thanks!

I bought this product to install in a work PC - The card needs some configuration for it to work with some routers; for example, I had to override the Auto Preamble length in the Advanced Window by manually selecting one of the two options ( Long or Short) then select FCC, after that the unit worked strait away. Excellent value for money.

I need a low profile wireless card for my slim case which is not available until I found this one from Hiro. Fits in my Slim case and works like a charm. I am using the additional 2dbi antenna and connects at 54Mbps.
