Nice layout with all the video out ports you'd ever hope for on an integrated graphics created board. General for this type issue, it packs a lot of options in. Unable to get this board to post. Beep codes... two quick, eight brief, indicating both memory and video/video memory problems. Have only Gskill Ripjaw DDR3 in both the 1600 and 1866 assortment on hand, but will test with some stock Dell DDR3 tomorrow and see what occurs. Haven't had a challenge with this memory in any other systems prior to and thoroughly both version in slots 1 and three to no avail. Attempted Slots 2 and four just for the hell of it and came up with a distinct squak telling me that I needed to populated 1 and three. Somewhat disappointed and hoping memory is the only problem as opposed to both memory and video. Suggestion, try something other than G.Ability if you read this and I haven't yet posted back. .... holding other thoughts until I've verified with other known fantastic memory.

MSI excellent, Realtek ALC889 audio codec 鲬db SNR playback), effortlessly overclocked. BIOS possibilities a tiny significantly less robust than higher finish boards. Paired w/i3 530 and OCZ 1600MHz Obsidian RAM.Just upping the CPU Frequency alone permits an overclock to three.5GHz.1st encounter w/MSI boards - very nice.

Great MB mounted into my three year old chasis. The documentation was extensive and effortless to comprehend, I had quit making Pc's years ago on the other hand this was a snap when once again due to the documentation. It took me 15 minutes to load win 7 and 5 to upgrade. The network worked extremely nicely and the video was wonderful and responsive I watched 2 shows on the Net it was flawless. The instructions were spread across a number of manuals, they were successful although. I would do it once again in a minute the full upgrade; Mbd, processor (i5), energy supply And ripsaw ddr3 RAM was over the major.

Chosen this board for a budget gamers' build for my son. Though it lacks SLI or Crossfire potential, it does come with 4 DDR3 slots, which makes it somewhat unusual for a LGA 1156 board in this cost range. The build went smoothly and anything functions. Easily overclockable for even noobs by means of on-board OC switches, or you can use the integrated software. Have always had excellent experiences with MSI boards and VGA cards. No SLI, but that's not genuinely a con mainly because nobody has an SLI board in this price bracket.

Worked excellent for 3 days. two flaky boards, 1 RMA and now 1 return. There is no excuses for 2 poor boards in a row, AND I have to consume the shipping cost back to newegg. MSI is blacklisted from me and any recommendations I give from now on. First board I had worked excellent for 3 days. Suddenly, it shut itself off, and would restart whenever it felt like it. Temps had been very good, configuration was excellent. RMA'd that board for a replacement. Got it currently and wouldn't you know it, if Anything is plugged into the SATA 2 port it will restart at random times. Initially I although it was my HDDs. Nope. Tried CD Roms, nope. Tried diverse SATA cables (I was obtaining desperate) still no. This was also the initial time I went with an MSI product as they come extremely proposed. Usually. Low power consumption. The board is 244x240 as an alternative of the 244x244 in microATX standard. This result in the two hole on the ATX plug side does not match the Computer situation mobo assistance. The holes are missing by 2-3mm.The same Pc case match other 244x244 mobo perfectly. This is a significant dilemma. This was my very first create with an 1156 chipset board. I intended to use the onboard video on this board. Please be aware if you intend to do this you need to have to purchase a clarkdale processor (i3 and some i5's), or one particular with IGP (integrated graphics). If you determine against this you will want to purchase a separate video card. I have this in a micro atx case and it was challenging to plug in and hook up sata 1 and 2 in the position the had been in as soon as my board was mounted. Although its not necessarily causing me any difficulty operating them on distinct slots, those 2 slots are essentially useless in their present position. No love lost. No eggs off :) At the time I purchased my i3 there were no i7's that would have been in a position to run the onboard video. Now there appears to be the i7 sandy bridge line that can make use of this apparently. From the looks of it, only 32nm cpu's will be capable of making use of this integrated graphics alternative.

Install took about an hour upgrading from socket 775. fired appropriate up, not problems. Large upgrade from an old sli board. Makes use of 1600mhz memory that's significantly quicker than the 800mhz ddr2 I was running. Sata placement, but hey, it's a modest board. I got fairly great at overclocking socket 775s. Was nervous about pushing my new i5 lynnfield, but this board produced it incredibly simple. With the settings I'm making use of turbo goes up to 3.9ghz! I purchased this board to go into a HTPC and I was shocked at how well this little guy operates. I paired it with an i3 530, 6 gigs of DDR3, and a 500 gig 7200 RPM 2.five" drive. I plugged the technique into my killawatt power meter and I have never noticed it draw far more than 70 watts of power even when playing games with it. As long as you turn the graphics down even games like HAWX are playable with the on chip graphics (however don’t count on high FPS). Would have liked to see some native RAID assistance on the board, but cant have it all. I originally installed a pair of 1033 ECC UDimms into this box just mainly because they had been close by at hand. This motherboard does power up and loads fine with ECC however as soon as I loaded the intel driver for the on-chip video Explorer went into an infinite restart cycle. So don’t do that.

With the Intel "Core" series processors the integrated video is on the processor, NOT on the motherboard. If you want to use the "onboard video" you ought to acquire an LGA 1156 processor that has onboard video like the i3-530 or i3-540.I marked this with 5 eggs to make up for some low marks for people misunderstanding of the technologies. This motherboard might be underrated mainly because of inappropriate ratings from other individuals. Please realize the technology you are employing before downrating what may well otherwise be a perfectly fine item.

Sweet board. Posted on initial attempt. Directions are excellent, but for indepth BIOS facts, download the directions from the MSI internet website. The board fit into my 6+ years old Antec mini tower case w/o troubles. The manual lists 6 mounting holes, but my board has 8. I paired the board with an i3 540, 4GB G Skill 1333 ƒX2GB) F3-10600CL8D-4GBHK RAM and the program is excellent. No firewire port. Not a con for me, but possibly for other folks. Ayone contemplating this board should keep in mind, that this class of boards do not have video on the MOBO. The rear panel video ports support output from video on the CPU. Only processors built on the 32nm die (Clarksdale) have video chips. Not all ATX circumstances are compatable with the mico ATX format. If buying a new case check if it is compatable. Check your old case if feasible. I didn't check mine and I lucked out. If you are looking for a low expense board, I don't feel you will be disappointed with this board.

HDMI was amazing to use with my G6950, I got an AMD 6850, so it is not utilised anymore. Overclocking results had been fairly very good, I got to four.2ghz with practically no effort. Bios are decent, nothing particular. The audio out ports can be reconfigured. Worked properly with my adata ram. The blue phase change light is a small annoying, it is always flashing. No s/pdif out, but analog audio is quite uncomplicated to set up. RAM defaulted at 1333mhz instead of 1600mhz? -It took like 2 seconds to fix that. I was sad to see that somebody rated this board badly because they did not do any analysis to see what was compatible with it. With my old case, a stock HP case, some of the screw holes did not line up, but it seemed fine with out them, but with my existing 1, cm690, they line up fine. I accidentally killed the audio out ports, the green line out, and was able to use a different one for it.

Tiny form factor, decent overclocking, easy to install and use, no PWM or Energy stage whine like many boards. Speedfan works fantastic with it. The bios is a bit weak for serious OC'er. H55 is nonetheless a bit pricey in common. I was tossing about the thought of constructing an HTPC/General use box, but prices were producing me a huge hesitant. I picked up this board and a G6950 from a neighborhood retailer half off of the retail price for the processor and 1ǚ!!! of the retail price for the board. With G6950, fanless 5450, 2 1gig sticks of Cosair 1333, 2 1tb WD greens, a Samsung bluray combo drive and an old Antec Neo 550HE this thing pulls 38w from the wall socket at idle and about 85 under load in Win7. My gaming rig idles at 350w and is close to 1000w under load(watercooled Q9650 with two GTX480s). For what it is, This little factor is a fairly mean beast. It plays WoW at 1080p with no hesitation, bluray is wonderful, XMBC with no a hitch, I love it. I feel I'm going to alter to a single 2TB Green, a single 2GB stick of mem, and then change to a picoPSU for some 99% efficient love. I figure it really should idle around 25w and maybe 70w under load. :)

.... see post below IF YOU GET 2 BEEPS FOLLOWED BY 8 BEEPS, attempt employing a PCI-E video card. Even though it says it supports i5 CPUs, their techs informed me that the onboard video (vga, dvi, and hdmi) will ONLY function with the Clarksdale. I haven't yet updated the board to 1.three bios, but you could keep your CPU choice in mind if you intend to use integrated video. I slapped a PCI-E display adapter and she posts just fine. Not what I intended for this board.
